CFL is doing its best annual impression of a bush league shits how with teams dumping any contract they don't like and starting from scratch again for the new season. Few off season bonuses ever get paid and players are left to blame for the league becoming overcome with player transition.

Honour the player contracts as they do in other leagues. Hold the GMs accountable for their actions. Drain the swamp.

So Demerio Houston is charged with domestic violence. Now what?

CFL has painted itself into a corner and obviously cannot allow him to participate based on the Chad Kelly shit show. No doubt they will lose some players but I guess it was important to make a stand. Especially if they start doing background checks.

With the Riders loading up again they could do worse than Lou Purifoy for safety on a 1 year deal. Arguably best in league at the position last season. Unfortunate O'Day would have an issue with that based on their history.

Kind of hearing Jarius Jackson may not be in Winnipeg where he was hired to help the new OC which qualifies as regular Bomber subterfuge picking up right where they left off last year whining about losing another Grey Cup..

Also thinking letting Shea Patterson go was playbook related and believe Bombers are taking a huge risk going with Streveler even if he is a good guy. They'll go as far as Collaros can take them and if he goes down they are done imo. Even if Collaros stays healthy they will be challenged to win 10 games

Could also see Mike O'Shea in the final year of his contract not renewing as I have never seen any loyalty to Winnipeg from him yet.

Seems to me the Riders will have their hands full with Ottawa Thursday night despite being 3.5 point favorites. Redblacks have a solid lineup on both sides. If Adarious Pickett is back up to speed he will give the Rider O line fits. I don't see the Riders running the ball too much. Hoping smoke is not a factor.

Big 2 points for the Riders that will come in handy later on. Proline paid the over for those that follow along.

Mario Alford, Thomas Bertrand - Hudon, Sam Emilus, Keeshawn Johnson all looked good. Harris threw for 277 and lives to play another game. Unfortunate for Bertrand-Hudon his best run was called back or he would have been close to 100 yds. I wonder if AJ Ouellette noticed.

Weird Dru Brown throws another 400 yd game only to lose which also happened last year. Riders absolutely stuffed the run and the D sealed the win late which bodes well for their season.

Clash of titans tonight with the Argos in Montreal. CFL experts are picking the Alouettes.

I was in the stands last night. Riders were a little more polished for this time of the season than Ottawa.

Kind of a week one windup;

Riders adding Ka'Deem Carey is a legit move that will help. 100 yd games to come. No gimme to win against Hamilton this week though.

Clark Barnes could be the next one to land a big deal thanks to Vernon Adams and a nice 10 tackle start to a CFL career for Marquel Lee brought to you by the same guys that found Alex Singleton, Darnell Sankey, Wynton McMannis, Jameer Thurman and more. Who's to say they don't have another with Lee. All in I am happy for Dave Dickenson and the Calgary fans who didn't need another losing streak to start the season. Winning is a good way to fill the stadium.

Tough opponent for Toronto in Montreal who looked good at home. Argos have some gelling to do. Damonte Coxie stood out. Stamps at home will be a tough test.

At least Nathan Rourke knows which direction to run in and for all the fans of Edmonton that thought Chris Jones was a lunatic, look at you now. Elks have 10 newbies running the show and got the result they deserved. BC appears to have a playoff team if they can keep it up. Happy for Buck Pierce. Now in a perfect example of how the CFL does things the Lions fly to Winnipeg on 4 days rest to play the Bombers coming off a bye week. Still think the Lions will win.

If I had a farm I would be betting it on BC -2.5 against the Bombers at home. The only thing that can save Winnipeg will be the Command Center. Unlikely to score 14 points with Streveler at QB even though I think he'll do okay. BC could easily put up 28.

Proline also paying 2.30 to the brave for Calgary and Hamilton to win their games which is possible.

Lower odds for Montreal -1.5 to win in Ottawa. Could be a good game to watch.

Streveler picks the Lions apart for 34 while BC throws into coverage all night long to make the +5.5 point spread look silly. I stand corrected. Makes for an interesting rematch next week in Vancouver.

Hoping Matt Shiltz has a good game for Ottawa tonight and expect him to go deep given the chance. Redblacks have a good team but the Als should cover the -5.5 imo.
