Arabs been thinking on their own for over 2000 years. The press you are talking about is controlled by the puppet regimes appointed and stated by your own government to protect the oil flow. They do not want the Arab public to think. So instead of blaming the Arab press, blame the puppets who control them and who controls the puppets.

As going into your own mind, I ave nothing to worry about losing credibility. If you ave something to say, please go ahead and do not worry about my credibility here.

Puppet governments appointed by the USG according to Moghrabi:

Egypt, Syria, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Turkey, Qatar, Pakistan and lets not forget the Human Rights leader in the UN...Libya.

You can refrain from dragging this into a personal dispute please, you have a habit of doing that.

Al-jazeera is not unlike many media outlets, partially funded by the government, big deal.

On the other hand, the network is an example of technology and modernization made possible by oil money. Something other oil rich nations should consider.

It is not personal dispute. Who supports Eygpt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, All of the Gulf states, Turkey?

As of pakistan, Mussharaff was your no.1 enemy. Now you are in bed with him. On the flip side, Saddam was in bed with you and now he is jailed by you because he did not follow some ugly rules.

You can never see the big picture. Iraq was an ally to the US because of the ugliness of the cold war.

And define support for those countries please. In what way are they supported? Because we buy their oil? Think about that next time you gas up your car.

In most Arab countries the press is hunted down when it doesn't conform to what the governments dictate to them. They mold their way of thinking from the time they can crawl. Other than that there is nothing wrong with it.

Al Jazeera has been in trouble in almost every Arab country they operate in because they go after the governments and report the news. When they are in trouble with the US government for the same reasons, it kind of points to a problem with the US government, not with al Jazeera.

Al-Jazeera is 55% owned by "Sajeeda", Saddam Husseins wife. Funny that.

Where have you read that? It's partially funded by the government, and owned by the Emir.

Can you read Arabic? Neither can I, but apparently it says so here.

And prior to this, this little post I found interesting also:

Please check your references before making an uninformed claim. Al-jazeera is owned by the emir of Qatar. Your link is road to Iraq. I read Arabic and I can prove it to you that Sajeeda have nothing to do with Qatar. For your information also, Qatar is a friendly neighbor of Saddam.

These are not official Al-jazeera data. They are wrong. If you go to the main Arabic site you can see that the governemt of Qatar owns the station.

The government of Qatar is a minority owner of Al-Jazeera. What do the links say if you don't mind?

And in conjunction with the other article I posted and you admitting Saddam and Qatar are buddies. 1+1+1=3 to me.

No matter who owns them, they have gotten into trouble for criticising Saddam and the government of Qatar, as well as pretty much every other government in the Middle East.

It seems to me that's something a news organisation should be doing...criticising government.

When Murdoch owns Fox News and gets bashed for biased news, then the same can be said for Al-Jazeera. It's not a leap of faith.

Sorry for the post. the word NOT was omitted. I meant to say Qatar and Saddam were not buddies since the first gulf war.

As for your links, they are the first 2 you get when you type owners of Al-jazeera in google. I think you have to have a stronger case than that, and do not assume we are below your intelligence level.

The Al-Jazeera is owned by the emirate of Qatar. It is called Al-Qatariya. The Emir has 100% ownership of it. It is not a corporation.

When was the last time that Fox criticised the Bush regime?

I have no idea, I never watch Fox. When was the last time Al-Jazeera criticised Qatar?
