Yup, there you go simple minded. Let me ask you ITN:

How do you think 70% of the world reserve money got to be USDs? where does this new money come from??

(200 years ago, im sure there wasn't trillions of USDs circulating the planet. How did these new dollars appear?)

Why do we even pay taxes Huck? What's the point of paying taxes when we can arbitrarily print money? How did we get around not causing enormous inflation?

again, your view is simple. Existing money remains in circulation. But, economical growth must be supported by an increase in the capital pool.

torito, where are you when a true economist is needed?

It is anyone who will try to improve his life and knowledge. Anyone who will identify the lies by himself and gain the priviledge of independent thought.

The only thing you haven't done is provide independent thought, all you do is dismiss everyone's comments with a bizzarre scenario.

I do not belive this board is worth any effort anymore. Again, you are indoctrinated and happy in your fairytale world; maybe thats better for you, you will live happily everafter. And, if anywone wants to do anything to improve this, they seem to remain silent on this board and leave me alone to struggle, which will improve nothing.

We could do this if we wanted too. I'm sure the government could borrow and spend it's yearly budgets and the real cost would be absorbed by the population through inflation....your going to pay either way, so it's best to do it the way we do now.

thanks darkbeaver, i know you are listening. But, truth is i have other imprtant stuff to do in my life other than chat on boads, and the last week on this board has taken too much time out of me. I will spend my time improving aned learning more instead of helping the idiots, who anyway dont want to be helped.

but darlbeaver, allow me to tell you this: (and all the others who care)

You dont need a guy likle me, nor anybody else. Use the tools you have such as the internet, libraries, etc. to improve your knowledge. Read wikipedia, encarta or britannica. Be careful of opinions on the internet, many are wrong, fact check them. Ensure that everything you think, you have verified it by yourself and made it work in a model in your head. And, be careful of alchemists like toro, they seem smart, but simply use smoke and mirrors to impress the ignorant; they dont withstand the usual scientific process.

If you do this and anything else worthy of making you a self thinking person, over time you will be strong and free. Knowledge is power...

good luck to you man! :)

Huck, we aren't the ones who live in a fairy tail world. We aren't the ones who feel the need to create new models to prove a theory that wouldn't make sense in the real world.

We aren't buying the "we need to change the world" bit. It isn't true. A lot of extremely smart realists have done a lot of the thinking for us, and we are moving ahead with their aspirations, not your remodeling of the world to fit theories that don't make sense.

I think it's the sheep Huck, and you have not proved me wrong at all.

So if you are "learning" from Huck...how can you tell he is telling the truth?

I think you will jump any band wagon that basically says "I hate America". Thats what you three are all about.

People doing business in American dollars. Printing more benefits the US by selling it. When it's not circulating in the American economy through increased government printing - for whatever reason, it's not creating inflation.

(200 years ago, im sure there wasn't trillions of USDs
circulating the planet. How did these new dollars appear?)

Pre Bretton Woods, of course it wasn't.

So you can find "many" sources that say we need to create a new economic model to prove the USA is attacking nations that have notions of switching to Euro benchmarks?

Maybe since you believe critical thinking is your thing, tell us where Huck has gone wrong in convincing us.

Editor's Note: This is an edited excerpt from Steal This Vote by Andrew Gumbel, published by Nation Books.]

If you do everything, you'll win. -- Lyndon Johnson

A few days before the November 2004 election, Jimmy Carter was asked what would happen if, instead of flying to Zambia or Venezuela or East Timor, his widely respected international election monitoring team was invited to turn its attention to the United States. His answer was stunningly blunt. Not only would the voting system be regarded as a failure, he said, but the shortcomings were so egregious the Carter Center would never agree to monitor an election there in the first place. "We wouldn't think of it," the former president told a radio interviewer. "The American political system wouldn't measure up to any sort of international standards, for several reasons."

What, after all, was to be done with a country whose newest voting machines, unlike Venezuela's, couldn't even perform recounts? A country where candidates, in contrast to the more promising emerging democracies of the Caucasus or the Balkans, were denied equal, unpaid access to the media? There were a number of reasons, in the sharply partisan atmosphere surrounding the Bush-Kerry race, to wonder whether campaign conditions didn't smack more of the Third World than the First. Every day, newspapers recounted stories of registration forms being found in garbage cans, or of voter rolls padded with the names of noncitizens, fictional characters, household pets, and the dearly departed. The Chicago Tribune, a paper that knows its voter fraud, having won a Pulitzer for its work on the infamous Daley machine, found 181,000 dead people on the registration lists of six key battleground states.

The USA is not a democracy.
