Poll suggests majority of Canadian would rather see William become next King
OTTAWA - A new poll suggests the majority of Canadians would prefer to see Prince William become King, not his father.
The Canadian Press/Harris Decima poll, released today, asked 1,000 Canadians about their thoughts on the Royal Family.
The respondents were evenly split on the importance of the monarchy with 45 per cent responding that it is an important part of Canadian history and culture while 44 per cent believed it is a relic of our colonial past.
Regionally, Quebecers were twice as likely to say the monarchy has no place in modern Canadian society while a majority in all other regions believed it should be maintained.
Forty-one per cent of respondents said they would rather see Prince Charles pass off the throne to William rather than succeed Queen Elizabeth himself, while 31 per cent believed Charles should be King.
The poll was conducted between Oct. 29 and Nov. 1 and has a margin of error of 3.1 per cent, 19 times out of 20.

I agree with most Canadians. Not a big fan of Charles.
