Canadians use far too much energy and water, and they produce more garbage per capita than any other country on earth, a report from an influential think-tank says.

Perhaps we should look for a market for it!-:)

It is to those who live in a black & white, right & left, right & wrong kind of a world. There's no flexibility so there is only one way to look at things.

Wise you are! It's just like when someone makes a suggestion there's always a certain percentage who denograte it outright rather than doing what the smart person does- start a process of fine tuning or tweaking it. Absolutely nothing we have/enjoy today materialized in its present form right out of thin air. Everything has to start from somewhere. -:)

In many cases if the government would just turn a blind eye to what is happening instead of lending a"helping hand" things would be much better.

The government of Ontario is helping more green businesses but they are money losers just because they charge a lot to buy for the average consumers and they don’t cost that much to manufacture.

It seems in the market place if a product last longer they charge more because of the time between repeat customers and customers are willing to pay more for quality if they have the money.

If the government wants to give a helping hand to kick-start the industry they have to bring back subsidization but if they do that then they lose future tax money from corporation in the power industry.

Green packaging do not work that well because they break down sooner and they are not as strong as before.

This is a hard problem to solve just because jobs can be lost in one industry and created in another industry. A possible solution is to offer the new jobs to the displaced workers first so the economic damage can be kept to a minimum.
