And who has the better economy? Our dollar has been rising, yours has been dropping. You've been building up a massive debt by running massive deficits while we've been paying our debt off. You've got a trade deficit that leaves others as much in charge of your economy as your government is. We run a trade surplus.

"Better economy" is a subjective term. Canada suffers from a sever lack of diversification next to the US. If you look at the TSX it is chock full of Banks, Natural Resources, Pipelines and -- oh yes, Bombardier on the Government teet. On the other hand the US is home to the greatest diversity of industry anywhere in the world by a long shot. Plus, the US stock market has outperformed Canada's by an embarassing amount over the long term, despite foreign content restrictions propping up Canadian stocks. You can't throw a few stats out there and hand down a "better economy" judgement so easliy, friend.

I dunno. I bought a couple dozen last weekend and it tasted fine to me. I'm not a beer snob, but I do know my beer. I suspect that they will sell a lot of their Pilsner too...Pilsner has always had a following in Saskatchewan.

Were you buying it in those plastic bottles, No 1? There is something about a plastic bottle that just destroys the flavour of a beer. To make things worse, once it gets on the shelves the light can get at it. Sunlight and beer don't mix.

Don't buy any beer in a plastic bottle or a clear bottle. All drinks should really be consumed in glass, not a can, or plastic or porcelain.

So suddenly it all depends? Come on. The US economy has sucking air since Georgie came to power because neo-cons are bad fiscal managers. If the Democrats manage to get in next time, they will just getting things repaired before they are again booted out by some half-bright greed hog.

If the US pisses China off...say over Taiwan...then the US is done. Same with OPEC. Same with Canada for that matter. Your long-term prospects are pretty damned low down there boys.

In a free market economy the government isn't the whole story. Where the US sits on the business cycle is largely unrelated to who sits in the Oval Office. That is your first error in judgement. As well your argument is based upon the premise that Presidents come into power and their economic policies take effect instantaneously. Any effect Governments have on an economy has a time lag. Many would say the sluggish economy in Bush's first term was a hang over from the Tech-Boom excesses of the Clinton era.

Yup, but to blame Bob Rae's problems on the government that proceeded him is wrong. I understand exactly how this works for you guys...blame Clinton for the Bush failures on both sides of him.

Funny how Conservatives are always yarking about responsibility but never willing to take any.

No, its not suddenly all depends. Not everyone looks through a binary political prism like some do. Those of us who do this type of stuff for a living know its not that black and white. The US economy has not been sucking air since 2000. I just posted the statistics. It's been pretty good but not great. Growth has been better in the US than in Canada and unemployment is lower. Going forward, who knows?

I think Clinton did a great job on the economy. But he had a lot of tailwinds at his back, such as the technology boom that had nothing to do with him. Plus he had as big of a Wall Street bigwig as there is at Treasury.

All "W" knows is war and it is being used to cover up his bad performance on the American economy.

Just last week GM is laying off or firing 25,000 as its cheaper to get work done in Asia, Levis are not made in America anymore. If you go to Lou Dobbs web site you can see all the companies that are exporting good paying American jobs. This guy whines about outsourcing daily on his show, to the point of being nausiating, but facts do not lie.... and a lot of new jobs in America are low paying.

Like here, BC has second lowest unemployment ever but most jobs are low paying service jobs or lower paying non union construction jobs.

While in Montreal, I had to call the provincial police everytime I went to the shooting range. I had to follow a specific route. It was ridiculous!!!

What the hell are you talking about? I go to the range and bush to target shoot and never have to notify RCMP where and when I am going. Actually I do not know anyone that has to do this.

You're so busy being partisan you aren't even readin my comments. Look back, I never once blamed Clinton. I mentioaned a "hangover from the tech boom of the Clinton era." You missed the gist of my point: the US government has a limited impact on the overall business cycle. it's called free market system. You seem married to this central planning concept that governments make the economy go "boom". Not true in a free enterprise economy. You nanny state socialists are so used to looking to the government for all the answers you can't concieve that economies actually click along their cycles without government help.Ever heard of the business cycle? The economic tools the government has are blunt, not precise. There is a time lag on Fiscal and Monetary policy. ANy economist will tell you that goverment fiscal policy often has the opposite to the desired effect because by the time it kicks in, the cycle has already turned. By the way, Alan Greenspan has a much greater impact on the economy than any president's fiscal policy. Please try to stop with your partisan yarking long enough to recognize these facts.

AGAIN. Please, fellow Canadians, Presidents don't control the economy. Far from it. Blaming a president for the poor economy (which really isn't all that poor, it's actually a healthy level of growth compared to the drunken-sailor days of the late '90s)...is like blaming the weatherman for the rain.

Well, if you move to Quebec, and purchase a 9mm firearm and intend to go to one of the shooting ranges there (ex. the one in St.Therese), you will need to phone up the provincial police before leaving your home and also when you arrive at the indooor shooting range. They will tell you which highway to take when driving to the shooting range with your 9mm. You also cannot holster the gun, it must remain unloaded and in the back of the truck. The biggest hassle is obtaining the firearm license, you will need references and the police has the final say in approving your license. You will also need to show proof that you are an avid target shooter.

I have all that and done all that. It took RCMp at time 3 weeks before I got FAC, and poistols they are strict on and you need to belong to a gun club but I have never been told you had to tell them the route you are going. I guess Quebec has diferent laws for some reason as guns are federal jurisdiction.

Its weird here in BC you can't get your own hunting licence until you are 19(need parents permission if you are under age) or drink liquor until 19 but you can buy a rifle or handgun at 18.
