Americans wonder why they are so unliked worldwide... well the pompous attitude of those in here alone... speaks volumes!!!

Really? I hadn't noticed.

You haven't been noticing much lately ITN.

Oh but I have. So now I have to adapt to your pre-conceptions. You should be thrilled. You will have the perfect example of an arrogant American.

Here's an understanding for you Canadian_cindy.
We Americans have gone through a graduate level course of hypocrisy and the syllabus of that course would overwhelm any ability you have. And when they say it takes one to know one, we can spot hypocrisy in the world so much better than anyone else in the world because we are what we are. And we see the hypocritical righteousness of this world, the comedy of which is so ironic that it make us want to sing a song, and sing out loud because we all don't live in a yellow submarine, rather we all live in a big big big big glass house.

Is that too ambiguous for you ?

I actually had this same conversation over 20 years ago. It seems to me that Ronnie shouldn't have been paying for death squads and neither should Georgie. That might make me anti-American, but I've actually read a lot of what the founding fathers said and I'd have to say that it ain't me that's anti-American.

Actually, Reverend Blair, that's a helluva good point, with much to back it up.

But that's a piece of it, and not by any means all of it.

I don't think that the possibility has occurred to the majority of this board that those who oppose the thinking of a Reverend Blair can possibly know as many details of history and still oppose the general thinking of this board.

This seems to me to be quite the achilles heel of this board.

RE: Canadian pre/misconce

I can't speak for this board, Jimmy...only me. I've paid a lot of attention to history though. I've seen what happens. Being a photography guy, I've seen a lot of what happens.

Being a bit of a wondering guy, I went to see why it happened.

There just might be a reason why I listen to Steve Earle and the Violent Femmes so much.

Are we going to get back on topic soon?
