OPINION: The Passing of the Jewish NDP?

This past week, Canadians mourned the passing of Dave Barrett, British Columbia’s first NDP premier – and to date, Canada’s only elected Jewish premier.
During his tenure in the early 1970’s, Barrett brought many classic NDP policies to the west coast, including BC’s first labour relations board, public auto insurance, and the BC Human Rights Code.
Barrett was also a staunch Zionist, delivering a well-received speech at the 1979 Jerusalem Conference on International Terrorism – chaired by none other than Professor Benzion Netanyahu, the father of Israel’s current prime minister.
In those days, it was possible, and even quite common, to be a proud Jew and a proud foot-soldier of the Canadian Left. But if certain activists have their way at next week’s biennial NDP convention, that will no longer be the case.
Hard-left devotees from across the country have banded together to submit what they call “The Palestine Resolution”. The Resolution demands that Israel withdraw its citizens from territory disputed with the Palestinians, ends its blockade of the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, and open the door to millions of Palestinian refugees – all without a single concession from the Palestinian side.
(IN other words radical NDPers want Israel to surrender to a mirage- a false front of moderate Palestinians who are hiding the mass killers who will then attack a weakened Israel! These NDP radicals do not see Israel as having any rights at all!)
The Resolution even demands that Parliament stop undermining “non-violent movements seeking a just resolution,” a euphemistic reference to the bigoted Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement, which seeks to enforce a complete ban on Israeli academia, Israeli cultural institutions and Israeli goods in Canada.
(NDP has surrendered itself to radical Muslims who do not think Israel has any right to anything- including even existence! NDP is willing to sell us and our democracy out to radicals and terrorists in exchange for votes!)
Ironically, the BDS Movement violates the terms of the same human rights codes that Barrett and like-minded progressive premiers implemented across the country. Boycotts based on religion, nationality or place of origin directly contravene the spirit of tolerance that the NDP claims to stand for.
(The BDS Movement is part of a larger movement whose goal is the destruction of western govt- especially Yankees- and the replacement of white, capitalist and democratic govt with “committees” of non whites and Muslim religious groups who will have the power to over rule white govt as they feel necessary!)
(For those who think such a statement is ridiculous- you should go look at the list of demands made upon the Toronto Police Force by Black Lives Matter bigots! BLM propaganda quite literally demands that cops will only enter the Black Community and interact with Black people AT THE INVITATION of Black leaders! Worse- if the Black leaders do not agree on the level of policing required- then cops are to stand down and return to the station until such time as community agreement is reached! This is the ugly version of “community policing” that BLM is pushing- it is a version that disdains the opinions of the larger community and makes each little jumped up Black “committee” into a law equal to Cdn Parliament! It represents a political coup of monstrous proportions!)
(Black radicals intend to tell us what laws they feel like obeying! Their vision of law and govt makes 19th century Anarchists look logical! One has only to look at the number of times that BLM has demonstrated and rioted in defence of previously convicted felons who are facing new outstanding arrest warrants!)
Before heading down this dark and lonely road, the NDP should examine the fate of other left-wing parties that have taken an anti-Jewish turn.
In 2014, the Green Party of Canada’s Jewish President, Paul Estrin, was pressured to resign after he expressed support for Israel during its war with the Hamas terrorist group. Two years later, the party was forced to expel Monika Schaefer, one of its founders and a former candidate, who had become an online promoter of Holocaust denial. Schaefer is now sitting in a German jail, facing charges of inciting hatred against Jews.
(The Green Party and NDP are natural havens for those who hate main stream western society! Their hate for bankers and cops and the industries that feed and clothe us along with alleged white privilege are given strong support and free rein in the anti establishment atmosphere of such parties! The union leader who despises corporate CEO`s finds a natural ally in the Muslim who despises corporations that are making western society rich and strong. The radical Muslim naturally supports the Green Party Manifesto because it will weaken the current crop of leaders in the Arab world that are allied with the west. Kill the oil industry and the revenue stops flowing- leading- so radicals think- to more power to the people!)
(That loonie leftists are dreaming in technicolour is proven by the Syrian civil war and by Isis! Yankees are not oppressing the Muslim world- they are propping up what little order and stability exists there! Take away the influence of Yankees and Israel and you end up with a whole series of Syrian wars and Isis pirates and various Egyptian style show trials as one govt after another is denounced and destroyed “by the people”! And NDPers and Greens want to import this political instability HERE! If they succeed in this poisoned social engineering it will be the ULTIMATE CURSE dumped on our heads by multicultural society!)
These moves presaged the Green Party’s adoption of BDS in August of 2016. Four months later, the chastened party formally dumped BDS, while replacing it with a similarly anti-Israel policy.
(AS I have said before- these people are very good at pushing to the limits and then back tracking just a little- so the former radical becomes the new normal! Greens have “officially” dumped BDS- but the fight for it goes on in a series of less public forums!)
The shift came too late for Jewish Greens, many of whom had already abandoned the party in disgust.
Meanwhile, the NDP’s British cousin is embroiled in an antisemitism controversy of its own. With the far-left “Momentum” faction in control of Labour, members previously expelled for Holocaust denial and other forms of anti-Jewish rabble rousing are being welcomed back with open arms.
It would be sad to see the same fate befall the NDP, which has a rich history of Jewish participation and activism. Aside from Barrett, both the federal and Ontario branches of the NDP have been led by Canadian Jews: father and son team David and Stephen Lewis.
(The NDP and Greens have already been coopted by radicals! It is why both groups can support values and economic policies that would throw Canada into economic and social chaos if ever they got power! The radicals expect to be able to grab draconian power in the chaos they created! It is the standard third world political coup they are setting up- create chaos and then grab power by pretending to be the solution to that chaos!)
As it stands, Israel is the only foreign country mentioned in the NDP Policy Platform. No China, and no mention of Russia either. Even the United States is not referenced by name.
Certainly nothing about Israel’s regional competitors such as Iran, Saudi Arabia and Qatar – all of which own horrendous human rights records that far outstrip Israel’s perceived sins.
The obsession has to end somewhere.
(Based on the kind of radical nonsense reported coming out of Cdn schools- most of us have no idea just how far the rot has really progressed! We adults are too busy and our kids are too brain washed to understand the poison!)
Canadians expect progressive parties such as the NDP and the Greens to concentrate on working toward a more just and sustainable Canada. They don’t expect those parties to promote a boycott of the world’s only Jewish State, especially against a backdrop of rising antisemitism in Canada and abroad.
(AH! The Devil is in the details! NDPers and Greens ARE CONVINCED they are working for a just and sustainable Canada! It is the radical version of just and sustainable that causes ALL the fighting! Let us hope it does not lead to gunfire here in Canada as it has done in so many other places! Greens and NDP operate with a virtually religious fervour- they have taken the right to speak for those who they allege have been silenced! They operate with the same sense of moral right and absolute authority as the guards running Nazi concentration camps, Soviet gulags and Khymer killing fields!)
(One has only to consider that chaos that would ensue if groups like Hamas did succeed in their sworn goal of driving the Jews into the sea! Think of it- 5 million people suddenly rendered homeless and sent fleeing from Arab armies- in desert heat with only what food and water they can grab and carry as they flee. Have NDPers and Greens considered the kind of crisis they would precipitate by supporting Hamas? Even worse- shall we ask if NDPers and Greens HAVE considered the violence and blood shed and atrocities against Jews that would result from a Hamas victory- and they APPROVE and consider it is just what Jews deserve?)
