I don't know how else to put it. Obviously you feel differently, SleepinIn, and I respect your right to feel differently.

I knew you did. Don't worry so much. ;)

Holy crap, Kris and his band played the reggae NoBo tonight. I hate that friggin' song but I guess we have not heard the last of it. He has a great sense of humor, but the fact is, he successfully made me forget all about that crap song, and now it's back. That little dude has some big balls. lol

LOL - he really does. I really loved the reggae NoBo especially because they did it with a wink to the fans and from the twit vid from tonight that's still present. You know.. we all hate it.. but I bet we could all sing along with the damn song. So as a fun sing along song it would be effective at a concert. No one else would understand why all the Kris fans were so giddy.. or why we were liking it..come to think of it... but it would be fun.

A magic rainbow moment. LOL .. even Adam fans have that song. We are all united in our hatred for the song.... and I bet we could all sing it.

MOD is not dead! Thank God!!! That means Adam and his fans will have a platform to promote his music in Canada for YEARS AND YEARS TO COME!!! (Now in stunning HD.) I'm so happy. So happy...

Bwah! I'm just waiting for Sleepwalker to turn up on radio.. that will make my night. Why not voodoo?? why?? (I know you're not impressed but Voodoo is a fantastic song! that does not sound like Ryan Tedder)

Well, well, this is a pretty picture

That IS nice!! Where's it from missaddicted?

Do you remember Jacob and the band doing the reggae version of Gunnin.? It was pretty good! Gunnin' lent itself to reggae-ization. NoBo is tougher.

No!! I don't remember the reggae Gunnin' (I loved Gunnin' BTW)

It's his new twitter avi/background. He tweeted recently that he had a photoshoot, it must be a picture (well, two pictures!) from that photoshoot.

I tried hard but I couldn't find the reggae Gunnin' on YouTube. I remember he announced it by saying they were going to try something a little different. It was great, but the crowd didn't really get it. I think they only did it a couple of times. I remember it was during Jake's white sweatband-and-daisy-dukes phase. lol

Want to hear something weird? I freaked out when he did that, because I had already noticed, myself, that if Gunnin' was speeded up, it was kind of a reggae tune. Because I'd sung it to myself like that. No joke.

That's weird, I know, but remember, Jake's first record he ever bought was a Bob Marley record. For The Nights I Can't Rememeber can also be sung reggae. I'm not even a fan of reggae, but these songs (Trip, as well) seem to have some kind of reggae basis, underneath. Try it out, you'll see what I mean. #Hedleyfunfacts

Actually, I'm glad MOD is not dead, just resting. It's important for the artists. I'm mad at them for ignoring Kris, of course.

You know, considering Kris is probably one of the two or three best Idol winners, as well as one of the easiest to market, it's still incredible to me that he still hasn't recieved that seal of approval. It reminds me of the old saying, "Don't believe your eyes, believe what I tell you."

True enough Jake really likes reggae music, so it probably stands to reason that there is some influence in their music.

More of the Last.fm performance.

I know right? It takes work to be this bad at promoting him. LOL

I didn't really mean that, I guess I wasn't clear. I think he's promoted okay. I mean there's media bias, and favoritism from Idol, which has led to false assumptions. Despite all the evidence to the contrary.
I was kind of saying Much seems to believe what they're told rather than seeing for themselves. So promo wouldn't matter anyway.

Oh what I would give to turn on the tv and Boy Meets World be on. And just watch it all day.

First Idol promo for season 10. The other winners must be featured in another promo.

No, that's it. The others will never be seen. Joke. I think. Well, we probably shouldn't expect a lot. I expect Idol to continue to piss me off in the usual ways, this year. Maybe more ways than usual.

I don't know how/when the entire home town videos will be used. Probably during the season?

ETA: I figured it'd be something like this. The one-minute promo has all the winners. The 30-second promo has...just the ones they like best? Or something. Hope y'all are ready for another season.

Here's the 60 second promo (Kris has the shortest screen time. I counted. Literally, two seconds. Kelly has the longest. Eight seconds.)

They're probably going to do other promos with the footage they took. Idol is still more than two months away. And the person who did the videos tweeted that there would be "more to come soon".

Oh, yeah, I'm sure they are.

Last year I was enthusiastic about a lot of promo that was supposed to happen but didn't, or that I expected, and shouldn't have expected - whatever. It was a let down. So this year I'm not anticipating anything. I'm just letting it all wash over me, and I'm just sitting here in the lotus position, all zen-like.

milestone_fandi #nowplayingLive Like We're Dying - Kris Allen
anthonyw_ent After #idol so wrongly seemed to want us to forget about Kris Allen, let's see how they remember AI9.
RizkiDaily #nowplayingKris Allen - Live Like We're Dying
agrayrocky2 The pain is getting more and more intense. The only thing helping is listening to Let it Rain by Kris Allen.
SagePhenix Kris Allen - live like were dying

...Kris has male fans. I'm excited. Maybe.

Also, these people made AWM #1 in The Philippines. (But they seem to prefer Adam for People's Choice...)

Serenity now...serenity now... :)

I haven't watched the Kris clip yet but I will in a second. First I wanted to lead you to some Emm Gryner/Kalan videos from Sarnia October 15th. Here's one. The rest are in the sidebar.

YouTube - Kalan Porter with Emm Gryner Sarnia Library Theatre Oct 15 10 013 Almighty Love

I watched NB. I meant to say this before, but the "reggae version" of NB sounds almost exactly like the non-reggae version.

I remember when Kris sang this on Ellen. Did you hear Kris say in an interview that they were trying (recently) to get an appearance on Ellen, but it didn't work out? I guess this means they're going to promo AWM on TV shows. Or try to. Which is good.

YouTube - Kris Allen Minglewood Hall, Memphis TN - CSA (feet)

What is this?

Cool thanks! Kalan's just got an amazing voice. You forget just how good, until you hear him again.

Ha, I thought that too on this version - I still think the EW version was reggae-ish and acoustic so it sounded cool. Kris doesn't really remember it at all though, does he? I guess he wasn't pining to play it.. ever. lol

What is this?

Some radio thing, win a designer purse.. Kris (and co.? ) are playing at the party for KIIS in LA. I'm still thinking KIIS will never play his music.. but he might get some press out of it.

Never say never. I was just looking at a post on Rickey.org that's titled, "Kris Allen – Live Like We’re Dying – Drops Out of iTunes Top 100", from October 2009. Here are some comments. No, I didn't make them up.

"It doesn’t surprise me that Kris’ single isn’t burning up the charts. It’s just not that good. To really make it in today’s music world, you have to be more than just a good singer … you have to have something to make you stand out from the pack. Kris just doesn’t have that. He’s a nice guy, but it’s going to take more than that to sell music. To make matters worse, I’m afraid he’s going to be completely overshadowed by Adam in the next couple of weeks. Time for Miracles has #1 hit written all over it. The exposure for the song will be huge, and it’s going to sail right to the top of the charts."

"I don’t find it hard to believe this has happened. LLWD is at best a #4/5 single off a debut album, something to keep him in airplay while the second album is being recorded. Not really a CHR song either, its more of one of those that enters the CHR charts after doing well in AC/Hot AC, like KoL Use Somebody. I don’t think 19/Jive has served Kris well on this one."

"I don’t think it is Kris’ fault, the song was not very good musically or lyrically–he needs a better song to make a hit. We are rooting for you Kris!"

"I’m surprised the single isn’t doing well. If you get to the top three or four on Idol your fan base should be able to carry you for awhile no matter how bad your single is. Kris doesn’t seem to have much of a fan base which is something of a mystery considering that he won."

"Who cares? It’s not THAT good of a song…especially for a single. It’s not like it should be a huge hit. I love Kris Allen, I do. But I’m not gonna lie that I don’t care for the song."

"It is sad that Kris’ single isn’t doing better. I had high hopes for him. I think 19E/Jive did him a disservice by making his first single a cover that closely resembled the original. It didn’t even crack the top 10 on ITunes, which doesn’t happen very often with Idol winners. To the industry, the song is considered a flop."

"What makes you think they had anything better than LLWD to release? Jive tends to get their singles out early and pick the best song they have at the time. If that happened here it lends credence to Rickey’s post that Kris’ album is sort of a mess."

"I keep telling you guys — Kris Allen is not a “star”. He’s a mediocre singer. He’s another Bo Bice (who I liked), Taylor Hicks, and it goes on and on. The male winners of AI just don’t cut it. And the judges keep hoping and praying that “this is the one” that will be a big AI star….and they fail. Whether it’s the songs they sing or their voice. They come with no “pizzazz.” "

"I’m trying to figure out why anyone would try to encourage buying a mediocre single with < mediocre vocals and why people are taking the failure of Kris personally. He ain't all that people and many people sing 10X's better than him. I love Adam's voice and will buy his album if I like it. I love "time for miracles" so I'll buy it and simply express it rocks. If I personally thought it sucked or was average, I wouldn't, nor would I encourage people to buy it…I would tell them to save their money."

"oh well! its EXPECTED that itll drop off the top 100! it wasnt anything good, to be honest. not super catchy or like remarkable! "

"Didn’t Kris win?...There’s a reason why the song isn’t doing well, & that is because it is not well liked by a lot of people, you would think though that the fans who voted for Kris to win would go & buy it."

"Kris choose this too wordy, fast paced song, that don’t allow his voice and own stylings to shine through. That’s the main reason this song hasn’t sold well, it sounds like everything that’s already out there."

"This was the wrong single for a first release. 19E blew it. Kris is a wonderful performer – but he’s intimate – low key. They need to play to his strengths and promote him as such. Play up the sex appeal – start up with songs about life and relationships. On paper, you’d think LLWD would be great – but it’s a rehash. Kris doesn’t sing it any differently than the original artists (The Script) – who released it less than a year ago."

"Rickey.. You know how I feel about this song and this proves it. This song appeals to those who bought it early on and not to the masses. Personally I have not bought it in hopes that I can hear something better from the album. If the album is unfortunately along the lines of this single, I will not spend my money on it. While I really really like Kris, I think the record company is either 1)setting him up for fail, 2) wasn’t prepared for him to win, 3) doesn’t know how to get songs that would make proper use of him vocal skills or 4) all of the above."

"If it were released in December 2012 I think it would be more of a hit XD Actually this song should be in the 2012 movie thats coming out, it’d be perfect. And if it got that exposure I think it’d be really successful."

"FYE BEST SONG EVER Its going to be nominateed for Amas next year i can feel it Haha adam is performing on the AMAS this year though! CANT WAIT"

-----------------------------------

So let's just say...we cannot predict the future, and leave it at that. lol

Ha, I thought that too on this version - I still think the EW version was reggae-ish and acoustic so it sounded cool. Kris doesn't really remember it at all though, does he? I guess he wasn't pining to play it.. ever. lol

The EW version was reggae-ish, but only reggae-ish. I don't think it can be reggae-fied, but I think it could be punk-ified. Screamed, really loud, really fast. But hey, that's just me.

if they really wanted to do the song justice, I think (seriously) they ought to do a punk version. Just yell the whole song at top speed. It would be a riot.

I think Kris just has a mental block. lol

I don't know why but those Mario costumes don't make me smile or anything. They just look weirdly creepy. lol

So does anyone want to give me an opinion on why the 30-sec. Idol promo left out Fantasia, Taylor, Jordin, and Kris? Taylor is the name (rightly or wrongly) associated with post-Idol flopdom, Jordin and Kris are the lowest Idol album sellers (though they have single success), and I don't know a lot abut Fantasia other than she tried to kill herself.

Other than the explanation that "there will be more promos" (but, really, who knows what they will be of?) why did Idol lead off their promo with Kelly, Ruben, Carrie, Cook, and DeWyze?

And is the fact that the clip of Kris was by far the shortest of all the clips of the nine winners mean he is the new Taylor, hidden behind a potted palm?

We ask the hard questions around here.
