Kalan worked on that album for over a year. I feel bad for him if he lost his music. I don't know enough about the situation. Sony appeared to be a bit ticked off, when they tweeted about parting ways. What that was about, I wouldn't know. There are two sides to every story, I guess. But I doubt we'll hear either side, so I guess speculation is pointless.
As for Kalan's singing, to be honest, I kind of miss the big (admittedly, somewhat cheesy) Idol-type singing, in his case. I'm sure he will throw some into the mix, at some point. Or, I hope so. You have to have a mix. Maybe one quarter audience pleasing, and three quarters 'art'.

What I laughed at was how few comments there were about Lee (at least, at the time) - just all these ads.

I don't know. How come you don't know? You usually know all this stuff! Maybe check out the headlines thread on MJ's, from yesterday (or last night). It was all about the Conway stuff. At the time I read it, I don't think anyone knew why Kris was being all semi-formal.
I get a bit weary from all the speculating on MJ's about why Kris is doing this or that, who he's with, or whatever - it reminds me strongly of a lot of biddies gossiping over the back fence. "Who was he with?" "That's Katy." "My sources now report, that was not Katy, it was a high school girl." "Seems it was not a high school girl, it was his cousin Minnie, from the Ozarks." "The one with a mole on her left nipple?" "No, the one with the pimple on her right butt cheek."

Just as long as they don't switch singles to take advantage of this phenomenon, I'm happy.
I just listened to the album version of Alright With Me for the first time in
months. I'm so used to hearing it live, I forgot how it sounded. It's still great.
Now, I prefer the live version, of course. Because it has so many more "colors." Anyhow, I hope Kris will get to promo this song on TV, somehow. Or maybe VH1 will have a live version available, like they did with The Script's Breakeven. Anything.
