Apparently the tickets for all of Kris's dates with Lifehouse go on sale Saturday at 10 am.

Did you see they are also going to have another opener on the tour? I wasn't crazy about hearing that because it probably means Kris does seven songs, like he did with BNL (I think). Some day I'd like to see him do a good-sized set. (I mean, when I'm present.) I hear he's going to be doing some headlining shows during the tour. Does anyone know where? If one was around here, I 'd do that rather than the Lifehouse show (but I have to find that out by Saturday. I don't think that's probably gonna happen).

I'm voting a lot for The Truth. More than I did for LLWD. I think the LLWD video did a lot for the song. I want this song to do the best it can. If only because I want to shut up the detractors (for a while).

One more opener.. eh, well, the more the merrier. Didn't Hedley have like 3 openers for their arena tour?

For me the other opener means that more people will be there by the time Kris is on stage. Usually a lot of folk skip the opener (which I think is crazy given ticket prices), but if there are two the odds are increased that more bodies will be in seats.

I've been voting, but I'm such a fail at remembering to vote.

There are a couple of dates around New York and Philidephia that might be solo show friendly, or media friendly actually.

.. and I really, really want IIO live. He doesn't even need an EP, I will take live IIO in exchange.

Dear Kris.. album two needs a live IIO bonus track.

Plus do you ever listen to a song just for the vocal range? The range argument is a crazy one.

Insane. I suppose there are people who are fanatics for vocal range.

Ever hear of Yma Sumac?

YouTube - YMA SUMAC RANGO VOCAL

Its stupid when people pick on Kris's range. It's pretty darn impressive for a regular pop singer. How could he cover Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Ryan Tedder, Thom Yorke, John Lennon, Rob Thomas if he couldn't sing in all their ranges? Damn it!

Another way to look at it is that nobody cares about the ranges of all those other guys, do they?

Also, all these claims about Adam's range are pointless. He may have a large range, which is a technical talent, that he may show off in voice class, but he only uses the parts of it that sound good, publicly. So, basically, who cares? Go listen to Yma Sumac if range is what you get a jones for.

Here's MasterClassLady on Kris's Ain't No Sunshine.

Kris – why, I didn`t know you could play the keys! Loved this song choice and loved your quiet, expressive demeanor. Your soulful and expressive voice wrapped so cohesively around the melodic line. You took this song classic and re-invented it. What a wonderful tribute and testament to the depth of your artistry.
Your voice is such a pure instrument and yet it is laced with nuance and inflection. You are blessed with resplendent head resonance throughout your range and you make sure that it never disappears. That mouth is wonderfully round and your vowels are perfectly placed and focused. Kudos and Bravo!

For me the other opener means that more people will be there by the time Kris is on stage. Usually a lot of folk skip the opener (which I think is crazy given ticket prices), but if there are two the odds are increased that more bodies will be in seats.

Hey! That's really smart. I like how you think.

There are a couple of dates around New York and Philidephia that might be solo show friendly, or media friendly actually.

Nah, I love Kris but I'm not going to NY or Phillie to see him. I meant if he was playing around here. What do you mean by media friendly?

I'm listening to the radio interview and performances right now. Kyle? Why didn't Kris or Cale correct them? (nvm. I guess they did.)

The performances are really good. Even if I couldn't hear Kyle very well sometimes (and one time, a bit too well. lol). Kris sounded hoarse, on The Truth, huh? It didn't sound especially bad but whenever he sounds like that I wonder why. Maybe because it was in the early morning? Glad he's getting a vacation for a few weeks.

Kris Allen moves beyond 'Idol' The Commercial Appeal

I still hope Kris is going to collaborate with other people (other than just Cale) on his songs. I guess I lack faith in his songwriting ability when it comes to writing commercial material. I don't have much to go on other than BNS and red Guitar, and Is It Over (with Cale). I like pop but am not always enamored with singer-songwriter music. I find most of it snoozeworthy. I know this isn't how you guys feel about it.

I'm sure Kris will collaborate with other songwriters. It's Jive and Sony we're talking about! They don't seem to trust the Idols to make good choices for themselves.

It's depends with singer-songwriter music, it really depends on the singer. Some of it I really dislike and find supremely boring, like Jack Johnson, all of his songs sound the same, but some of it I really love. It's a pretty wide genre. I don't think Kris wants to do only that kind of music. We know he has really wide tastes, his live set is diversified, so I think he'll still want his music to reflect that. Anwyay, I'm not getting worried for that right now, his second album will likely be released in like a year from now or more!

Haha. Good point. You know more about the history of this stuff than me. I don't know anything about RCA and David Cook, but you do. As for Kris, there's less evidence. He told Cantiello he didn't want the album version of Heartless, and he answered Slezak vaguely about Pat Monahan and The Truth. I'm not assuming anything about the choices of singles. Would he have chosen other songs? Maybe not.

But I agree the with you anyhow. The labels don't trust the Idols. Putting myself in their place, I can see why they wouldn't. The Idols have limited music business experience, and it's a gamble to trust them. It's business. This is where it's tough, and complicated. Because I want them to trust the Idols.

How much can the Idols demand for themselves? That's hard, too, because they haven't really earned the position they're in, in the music world; they won it in a contest. Yet, if you think about it, there are artists all the time who haven't been working that long, who have one or two hit singles, and are famous all of a sudden. I wonder if the labels trust them or not. I don't know enough about it.

Yma Sumac (pronounced /ˈiːmə ˈsuːmæk/; September 13, 1922 – November 1, 2008 ) was a noted Peruvian soprano In the 1950s, she was one of the most famous proponents of exotica music and became an international success, based on the merits of her extreme vocal range, which was said to be "well over four octaves"and was sometimes claimed to span even five octaves at her peak.

I'm sorry, Senator. I knew Yma Sumac. Yma Sumac was a friend of mine. And you're no Yma Sumac.

I remember seeing that guy auditioning. You'd think if you were going to be a terrorist you'd want to keep a low profile.

I was kind of apprehensive before I clicked on that link. Which Idol contestant could it be? What if it was Mitch MacDonald? I briefly considered suspecting Mark Day.

That was funny. :D

So do you think this controversy about autotune being used on Simon's British shows will have any repercussions? Supposedly it was used not only to make good singers sound better but bad ones sound worse. Now they're saying it was used on Susan Boyle's audition.

Susan Boyle’s famous audition for Britain’s Got Talent was digitally tweaked, according to a show insider. The Evening Standard quotes an anonymous source saying that the show’s production team — which is the same as The X Factor — smoothed out the Scottish singer’s voice in post-production.

Doesn't this completely wreck Simon's credibility? I never thought Simon was on the level, in a lot of ways, but how can anyone take him seriously when he has endeavored to fool the audience? He's supposed to have the rep of being a straight shooter.

As you guys know, I have a very close friend who works in a library, and said friend tells me Kris's CD has not gone out for a week - for the first time since it was acquired by the library months ago. What's up with that? Adam's went out on interlibrary loan the other day, supposedly. Here's an interesting thing that was reported to me by my friend. Kris's CD has been taken out by a lot of guys. About half guys and half girls/women. Adam's CD has been taken out just by women, so far.

Interestingly, the last person who checked out Kris's CD also checked out a Colbie Caillat CD, a John Mayer CD, and a Joss Stone CD. The last person to check out Adam's CD also checked out Rihanna's CD and Britney Spears' CD.

It wreck's credibility for me for sure. It's not even the singing, it's the fairness. If it's a competition the fact that there are certain internal forces helping or hurting the competitors kind of gives me a knolly feeling. And that doesn't make me want to support or bother voting for anyone (if I could).

I remember that random guy's audition, scary. Not too smart to audition for Canadian Idol if he's a terrorist or wanna be terrorist.

For me too, it really depends on the artist and the music. There's lots I like and lots I find boring and it's hard to say why what I like falls in the what I like pile other than that I like it.. am I making sense?..or talking in circles.

Never heard of Yma before, -- she sounds a little like Snow White when she sang to the forest creatures :)

Kris Allen Takes Over Chattanooga Hit Radio Station (96.5 The Mountain) | KrisAllenAddicts.com | Fan Site For American Idol Winner & Platinum Selling Artist - Kris Allen

Kris takes over The Mountain. Parts of this are funny - like what happens at around 2:50.

It wreck's credibility for me for sure. It's not even the singing, it's the fairness. Imagine if it came out that this had happened in the US, on Idol. And Simon knew about it. It's not much different from that. Who could trust anything they saw or heard after that?

It's so stupid of them, if it's true. I'm pretty sure a decent show could have been done without resorting to that. It's very cynical and greed-based.

Never heard of Yma before, -- she sounds a little like Snow White when she sang to the forest creatures

I saw her once on Letterman. Back when he used to book more unusual people, Supposedly he preferred that to interviewing stars (and I thought it was better, too).

Don't forget to vote. :) Just click on the picture - it's a link. (The jacket almost looks good, there.)

yeah *almost* ;)

Ha. :)

queenFROSTiNE_ @krisallen you are amazing. Chatt-town is glad to have you here!! And the fact you sang some MJ makes you THAT much cooler.
less than a minute ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

Maybe Kris should keep doing MITM a while longer.

If you want to read some amazing pro-Kris tweets from the Maroon 5 concert in Chattanooga tonight, go over to MJ's. (I guess I like tweets from concerts as long as they're positive. #imahypocrite)

Also, they're talking about something from a Kris website about how to vote. They say we need to fill in some other artsists/bands in the other slots. I'm not sure this is true. I've read on Adam Official (and they should know) that it's only necessary to vote for the #1 slot. I didn't read that very recently, I admit. Maybe one of us should venture over there again to check. Hm. How about one of you? I don't want to get in a bad mood. lol

Anyhow...Adam has been voted to #1 several times so they ought to know what they're doing.

girlygirl suggested that too many single votes in the #1 slot might be ID'ed as spam by VH1.

Never mind -- I ventured into alien territory.

??? Come On Everybody. LET'S "BLOW THIS SH?T UP." We Need To Keep Moving IIHY Up To #1 On VH1 Countdown? ? ? ? ? ? | The Official Adam Lambert Site

Yeah, he's getting a lot of positive feedback for MITM on the Maroon 5 tour. It's interesting what hits people at the different shows, eh? I think it's great that he's toured with all these different acts. It's great exposure and experience, to be able to say you've toured with so many established acts. Good for the tour resume. And he gets to have dinner with Maroon 5. Not bad at all.

I won't be able to vote much tomorrow as I'm going to be away for a couple of days, I did vote today though. :) Will vote more next week.

p.s. Alien territory scares me a bit, lol.

Yeah, but did you vote for just the #1 slot?

I know it's stupid but I'm worried that if all these people (Kris fans) take the time to vote for four or five other people, every time, Kris is going to lose a lot of votes. I know I myself have it down to a kind of science to do 100 votes in a few minutes, just voting in the #1 slot.

Also, didn't the other voting site you linked to just say, "vote for your favorite video," or something like that?

Maroon 5. When I saw them, they didn't give me an especially good vibe. I can't say why. They seemed to be trying a little too hard, maybe. I suppose I can't judge them on two songs. Also, I may have been pissed that they cut into the time of Kris's set.

I'm glad Kris is doing so great as their opener. (VV Brown also seems to be doing well.) He's literally making new fans - the tweets prove that; a lot are from people who actually say that he's made a fan of them. His tweet "reviews" - from people other than fans - have often been amazing.
