What do you mean, does she have a radio show? (Why? I thought she was a singer.

I think she's been working for them since she was eliminated from Idol.

Never mind him. What will I do with myself without his concerts to follow?

OMG!! I never thought of that! LOL! What are we going to do? :confused3:

Wasn't that a great thing he said?

Yes, that's totally awesome. I mean that's how I feel.. but you know I might be a wee bit prejudiced. So from a radio person that's amazing.

Yay Hedley - go guys! That's really cool. They've been working on it a long time and for them to get US radio support is kind of amazing in itself.

Ha! I just bought the David Cook/Kara DioGuardi co-write that was recorded by Frankie Negron, it's his first single. He used to do like salsa music and stuff. The song is called No Reply, it's not too bad. I'm not sure I like his voice though, LOL. Oh well, I just wanted to buy a single that David wrote... too bad it's not his.

I think I'll also buy the video for The Truth, since I didn't buy the single version, I might buy that instead.

I bought TT video too :) But then I like the song.. lol. The video is pretty all on it's own though.

Kris is having twitter meltdown right now. (He's tweeted like 5 times in a hour.. madness) LOL. I guess it's Ryland's 30th today

Ryland has been 30 for twenty minutes and this is what happens on Twitpic

I don't even know what to say to these photos. LMAO. What EVEN.

Meanwhile Adam's giving a dissertation on style. I don't really take the Who Wore it Better column seriously Adam. It's okay -- no one really thinks you're copying Willow.

Some people on TI are saying Adam's tweets were of the "he's such an ass" variety. But then some of them already thought he was an ass. Apparently something about trying to get attention for himself? How unusual.

Wow, did you see? Sebastian Pigott got a Gemini Awards nomination (the equivalent of the Emmys) for his role in Being Erica! That's pretty awesome for his first major role on TV!

Yeah, I'm excited too! I thought he was great, but never expected this! Too bad Erin Karpluk wasn't nominated, she's awesome! And well, I've never watched any of the other nominated shows, oops!

Republic of Doyle's fun, but yeah the shows up for Comedy.. um, never seen them.. well I've seen Rick Mercer, and he's good.. but I don't really think of him as a comedy series. I don't know what it is .. talk show?

Interview with Hedley doing press for Live at the Vineyard. It's kind of interesting the girl interviewing them says that when they look for artists to play at the Live at the Vineyard thing they're looking for good songwriters.

Hedley Interview on Vimeo

Jake and Dave do a really interesting song that I don't recognize - any idea what this is?

Hedley @ On Parr-1 on Vimeo

kinda love it.

as an added bonus they also have the one and only time Let it Rain has been performed by Kris and Cale on stage. (except they cut it off... fail!)

I don't know it.

Jacob is not a good piano player. He should limit it to concerts, where people aren't really listening to his playing.

Looks as if Kris went into the crowd tonight on Come Together.

I'm having a very funny reaction to Hedley in the US. I'm sort of annoyed they're at Live At The Vineyard. It's not their style. Yeah, I know you said (SleepinIn) that there have been some "different" bands there, in the past, but have there been a lot of pop punk bands, whose lead singer walks around onstage with his ass hanging out?

To me Hedley is more of a show band. To be honest I almost never listen to their recorded music. In my opinion it's not that good. If it wasn't for seeing them perform live, I wouldn't even be interested in them.

ETA: Kind of harsh, I know. But I think of Hedley as a band that gained fame through stunts. I probably don't need to name them all but they usually involved nudity and ass tattoos. They even did a "Jackass" style video. If they wanted to be taken seriously as artists maybe they should have tried to be artists first and not famous first. Because I find it a little hard to take them seriously as artists.

I guess it bugs me that they could gain their fame in such a blatant way and then be (potentially) taken just as seriously as all the musicians who have to just rely on doing good music and hopefully get their music noticed, because they aren't fame *****s.

I guess it's a bit like what bugs me about the Adam vs Kris thing.

I know she's not our favorite "journalist", but she's nice to the Pigotts:

Reality Check

"I'm gonna take my brother," Sebastian said. "I'm trying to convince him to wear a dress and go as my date. Wouldn't that be great? I think it would be great publicity."

LOL.

I think it's interesting that they were asked. Their songs that tend to do the best with the public are usually the songs like Perfect, or For the Nights, or Old School or Never Too Late. And that type of stuff seems like exactly what is happening at Live at the Vineyard. They've done a lot of piano or acoustic stuff, and actually that's what I tend to like the best of their stuff too. So I guess I'm not surprised they were asked really.

I guess it bugs me that they could gain their fame in such a blatant way and then be (potentially) taken just as seriously as all the musicians who have to just rely on doing good music and hopefully get their music noticed, because they aren't fame *****s.

People are different though, what works for one, wouldn't work for others, and Jacob is just that type of person - he'd be like that if he was still a carpenter. Tattooing your ass on tv will only get you so far. You still have a hell of a lot of work to do to be taken seriously by the industry and the audience. And they've been working very hard at it.

I don't love everything they do, and maybe surprisingly there are whole albums of theirs that I don't own, but I'm happy for them to make even baby steps into the US market. They've worked really hard at it and it's taken them a long time.

I think the music business is mostly networking. When you think of all the networking Kris has done on his tour it's kind of amazing. All that ground work will pay off it just takes time. And repeated visits.

I know she's not our favorite "journalist", but she's nice to the Pigotts:

She loves them. :) Sebastian really cracks me up too. I'm so happy he got the nomination for those episodes. They were my two favourite episodes of the season.

The brothers are still making music: they recently travelled to Alberta to do a show with fellow Idol finalist Earl Stevenson.

I just bought Earl's CD :) Cold Love is great.

I don't want them here!! Hedley, go home! lol

Okay, I don't know why I'm having this reaction so ignore me, it will probably pass. I really am serious when I say I don't know why. I suppose I shouldn't have said anything. But you know me.

Um...did you read the interview with Kris from Altoona, PA? It was pretty good. I liked how he described auditioning for AI. And how he said he wasn't nervous too often. I don't get how he couldn't have been, but he's just a really different person in a cool way.

I'm now going to look at some of the above links.

ETA: Yeah, Hedley has some "Live At The Vineyard" type material. I can't argue with that. I don't really want to make a big deal out of LATV, or anything. It's not that, so much. I don't even know. Forget it.

I just booked my hotel room for Vermont. I should have figured on Labor Day, back-to-school (colleges nearby), and the Champlain Valley Expo. Paid about 200 dollars for a room in a 2-star motel, about 8 or 9 miles away from the Expo. I mean, there are things like Motel 6, but all sold out. Like an Adam Lambert concert.

Don't forget to vote on VH1. Just a gentle reminder. :)

He really is. Um, I could gush a lot about him here so I'll stop.

Yikes. Is that concert Sunday?

Yep voting.. and watching John Mayer's livestream from Red Rocks..that looks like such an awesome place to play. Great picture and sound.

Dear Kris.. think about livestreaming something sometime. Love me.

ha, look at the picture they used for this interview.. full page almost!

They always get the stats wrong about LLWD. I don't get why.

I have to say, Pennsylvania is giving Kris a lot of publicity.

I guess we linked to the same article.

The concert is Saturday night. I think the venue is huge. 10,000 people, something like that. I think it'll be fun to see Kris in front of that crowd, and I hope Keith brings him back for an encore.

Supposed to be some showers saturday. Also, I don't think it's going to be too warm. Then we have a hurricane warning in effect around here - for friday night. Which hopefully won't be in effect when I leave on saturday.

Yeah, didn't the article say they were close to a sell out too? Thats awesome. I hope the weather is okay and doesn't cause problems. I think seeing them in a crowd like that would be fun too. I want a duet too.. we're so spoiled with Keith. Seriously, how can you not love Keith when he's so nice?

Chris Nathan streamed some of KAB's rehearsal - Everybody wants to rule the World and Red Guitar. The picture wasn't great and the sound is really random, but there was a moment when Kris started Red Guitar.. when I went .. um, wow.

Have you guys watched the videos from State College, PA? I don't think I can praise Kris and his band enough, after wtaching those. Holy crap.

ETA: Guys, don't forget you can watch these full screen. I always forget! But I just blew the image up to full screen while watching Can't Stay Away. So much better. :flower:
