I don't know Hey Rosetta but sorry to say I don't think that's a very good band name. It sounds more like the name of a song than a band.

Wouldn't that be awesome?!?!?

YES! But then I would probably die from all the awesomeness somewhere in the middle of the show!

Oh ross, you don't want to diss Hey Rosetta! in front of me (Yes, we can't forget the exclamation point at the end of their name), my wrath will be terrible. Because if there's one band/artist that I love even more than both David and Kris right now, it's that awesome Newfie band Hey Rosetta!

I was joking, lol. But yeah, I kinda love them a lot, including their name (hey, at least, it's memorable!). Tim Baker probably has my favorite male voice ever. Anyway, I could probably gush for days, which I won't do here!

The name reminds me of the song, Rosanna, I guess. By Toto.

Somebody offered me a free ticket to the Keith Urban-Kris Allen show at the Champlain Valley Expo. In September. I don't know if I can go. Or want to. It's like 200 miles or more.

I considered going to that show at first, but then the size of the theater was kind of a turn-off. It's HUGE. I don't think that's the setting I want to see Kris in for the first time, especially since I don't really have any interest in Keith Uban.

BTW, SleepinIn, is this your video?

YouTube - Hey Rosetta! ~ Red Song

If not, well, there's another Kris/Hey Rosetta! fan out there!

I don't care if it's a huge theatre as long as the seats are good. I don't know if they are, though. Some pics:

It's like a big state fair.

And it's on Lake Champlain.

What did that Hey Rosetta video have to do with Kris Allen?

Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant about the theater too. It's just that the bigger the theater is, the least chance you have to get a good seat.

What did that Hey Rosetta video have to do with Kris Allen?

Oh, guess what, you guys, Lilly Scott replied to me on twitter today.

I mentioned to her that a woman in her 80's that I know, liked her a lot on Idol (the one who liked Adam, that I've mentioned before). She tweeted:

that's awesome! tell her thank you for me and her support is truly unique! I'm glad I'm connecting with the 80-something crowd! :D

Apparently there are hijinks tonight. I am sad that I won't see these guys tour together.

Aw Lily. I wonder what she would have sang during the show? We really missed her this season (Hated the feather earrings though.. ) lol

Hee! Yes. It's my other youtube account.. I am unmasked. At the moment I can't remember my password, LOL. I'm working on it. I love that video too. It just felt so quiet, and still at Whistler and then Hey Rosetta! .. with 'Red Song' *sigh* :love7:

Keith gets big crowds. LP Field tonight! What an amazing crowd. on Twitpic (yikes)

Kris needs to steal a few of these folks, and keep them for his very own. :)

Someone on Top Idol wrote the following (and linked to an article that's amusing. An article followed by some skeery comments, of course.)

Because I was just reading more about how all the Blambert concerts are all SOLD OUT!!!! blah blah blah crazycakes and I also read a hilarious story about all that Lil Kim and the Grand High Poohbert have in common [note: see link below. ross] I went to ticketbastard and asked for eight tickets to the show in Hammond IN. Eight available, no problem.
Sold out, huh? A mere six days before the event and it will let me have eight tickets. Uh huh. That’s what I call SOLD OUT!!!!
And eBay is up to 2,239 ticket listings, with some listings offering up to 8 tickets for sale. That’s how you get a sold-out concert — create such hysteria that every person who buys tickets frantically takes the maximum number for every single concert — even ones that are far away and there’s only a glimmer of a chance they’ll be able to go to — and then they have to give away/sell the extra six or seven or eight on eBay or stubhub or one of the other ticket-selling services. Scalpers, my butt. That’s the Glamherd now furiously trying to unload all the extra tickets they bought.

I don't think the poster has anything much against Adam, just his OTT fans and their antics. One does grow weary. So weary.

Also, was this (below) asked in total ignorance/innocence? (This is what comes up when you look up Kris on Google News.) I don't think Kris and what's-his-name-sound anything alike. So, did the writer really think so, or is his opinion based on the LLWD connection?

Kris Allen … does he sound like Script’s lead singer? – Idol Chatter - The Press Democrat - Santa Rosa, CA - Archive

As for the GRO pranks, last night, I don't know why but I get less amusement from this stuff when it involves Kris. I don't mean I have anything against it. I just think it doesn't work all that well, maybe because I don't want to be distracted from his performances. When pop punk bands do this stuff, it's different because it's not really about listening to a great singer doing some serious material. But with Kris, I feel like telling GRO to get off the stage. "Come Together" is so good and it's usually all about Kris -- it's like a final bow, for him -- so I don't think it works to have people onstage fooling around.

Aw, the return of the monkey and banana costumes! Kris is having so much fun during Come Together that I see it fitting that the GRO boys would make it even more a party. If they had come out during Bring It Back or The Truth, it would have been weird, but I liked it during Come Together. I know I would've enjoyed it if I had been at that show live.

I love CT, and I don't mind the GRO addition to the party. Because for me CT does feel like a party already. Kris in the crowd, the crowd on stage. I don't know.. it works for me. It's like a "We're all in this together" feeling so let's have fun. I felt the same way during GRO's "I get by with a little help for my friends" Just fun bonding with all the guys and the crowd.

I said I had nothing against it. But, you know, KAB for me is all about funny banter, and quieter humor, onstage. The humor is a lot like Kris as a singer. Less is more. More is less. Like I said, I don't have a problem with it. I just don't think that's Kris's particular kind of humor. He's not rowdy.

The Truth was #1 on RateTheMusic earlier today.

I heard it on the radio again today. This time the DJ segued into the intro because he was talking about Idol. "And speaking of American Idol..." He introduced it as "Kris Allen, Pat Monahan, The Truth." This will sound goofy I suppose, but the DJ's voice was really warm when he announced all this. I think they really like him, on that station.

As for the song, Pat Monahan's voice adds nothing. The harmony that he does adds nothing, and the little solo? Ugh. missaddicted is right. They should have trusted Kris. What doesn't work is that Kris's singing is so focused, as usual, and you're following him as he tells this story, and he really draws you in, and it's very heartfelt, and it's just 'you and him' as he confides this stuff to you...it's personal. Then this other voice comes in. Right at the emotional high part of the song, that Kris has been building to. It's not appropriate.

Hearing things on the radio tends to give you a different perspective.

I'm getting a little annoyed by the Kris fans on the MJ's blog Kris threads. In the sense of: rolling my eyes. I guess there's a mite too much girly stuff for my taste. What has happened to all the guys on MJ's blog, anyway? There were quite a few, once. I think I'm the only one left. The other night, one of the Kris fans ended her post on the Kris concert thread with, "Good night, ladies!" That may have been the turning point, for me.

I'm interested in fan stuff up to a point. If it's fun. Mostly I'm interested in the shows and the music. I don't want to look at gifs of Kris swinging his hips. It's sort of embarrassing. As is a lot of the squeeing. Somebody posted a pic of Kris, Cale, and Andrew, and said it might be interesting to people who "ship" Krandrew, or Krale. Well, guess what? I don't care. All fandoms end up the same, don't they?

Don't get me wrong; it's cool people are having a good time, and I have no problem with that. But I'm not into that part of it. I'm interested in this from the perspective of a fan, to see it happening, to see Kris and his band gaining this kind of fan -- and I think it's really important for every band to have this.
