Page 501! (Hm. Looks like Ally got to make post #10,000. Congrats. It really is a 'mad world,' isn't it?)
And this is the explanation for TT and Idol bumpage, via Brian Mansfield.
"Wednesday, when I posted track-download stats, some of you asked how Kris Allen's The Truth didn't make the list after his performance of the song on the American Idol finale. Here's the answer: There are two versions of the song available for download -- the original album version and the single version that features Train's Pat Monahan. Those two versions combined to sell 7,000 copies last week, up significantly from the 2,000 they sold the week before. Together, they've sold about 35,000 downloads total."
It looks as if Kris's two versions will chart separately? That seems unfortunate. How will Billboard figure out the numbers?

I meant to say this the other day but I was probably, like, exhausted, or something...but I was wondering about the two versions and how that affected sales numbers.
Brian Mansfield (it seems to me) is always reporting stuff he later has to revise or retract. But anyway, a lot of music stats seem iffy at best, and I'm not much of a numbers man, anyhow. Most of the time it's probably better not to get drawn into the "concern" at MJ's, and in fact I didn't look at that blog at all today and I feel pretty good. I may just go cold turkey.
