Tomorrow is the Race for Hope. David's team has already surpassed the total from last year (it's around 137,000$ right now) and people can donate until August. For the second year, his team is the best fundraising team (all those donating fans help!). I know several fans will also be participating in the Race tomorrow in addition to David himself. Even 19E(vil... okay, maybe not so evil... sometimes) donated 5,000$ to the team! I think the total from all the donations is close to 2 million dollars (for all the teams)!

Wow! that's amazing that they've managed to raise that much money. That's the good side of fandom.

One of Cook's friend gave a show tonight in DC (since it's the Race for Hope weekend) and David's bass player Monty was there and he talked to some fans. He did confirm that the band would play on the second album (phew!) and that they were really really excited to get into the studio... which might not happen before June. I guess they're more looking now for a fall (or really late summer) release if they start recording in June. I'll try to be patient!

I tried reading the Lee DeWyze thing but when I reduced it I had other problems with it. Was able to read a couple of columns of it. The thing I found most interesting was how he had offers from ABC, NBC, and Paramount to do music for them -- back before he was on Idol -- and other such stuff. (The article never says if he ended up doing said music). I don't know why but I just thought he was more unknown than that, at that time.

Being so out of control with fighting that you get suspended from high school is pretty extreme. Who knows what makes people do stuff like that?

Anyhow, I'm still not a particular fan of his. His singing never hooked me, and his personality usually doesn't, either. (And whenever he talks I get Gokey flashbacks.)

Seems like there's a lot of sudden interest in him, but I'm not sure it's 'sudden.' Is he ever in the bottom three? Judges seem to love him too. I guess we should also keep in mind that there are always TCOs on AI.

I think Lee's always been on the judges radar, only now they seem to be pushing him more.. 'cause the others have all been voted off. Whoops!

I like Lee's voice, but I'm still kinda meh on him as a performer. He is one of the few performances that I've bought this year so I'll give him that.

I didn't read all of that article.. because it looked really, really long and the print was tiny. But I did read bits of it. Looking at that.. I'm sure they expected Lee to make more of an impact than he has.

David's such a good guy, and that was awesome of Ryan and his family to show up to support David too. nice.

Ryan Seacrest | American Top 5

Hello, LLWD!

I just voted in that poll, and the list of songs in competition with LLWD disappeared after I voted. Meaning you can only vote once a day, I guess. (Ha. Glamberts can't spam the poll? No wonder Kris won for a change.) Anyhow, maybe you guys can see the list.

(I cleared my cookies. Now I can see the list again -- and vote again. Heh.)

LOL at the translated comments!

I saw this guy live tonight:

YouTube - Jónsi - Go Do (HD)

It was like being transported in another world. Chills.

(And yes, I'm still laughing at the fact that Jónsi has a cuckatoo on his shoulder in the video. Thankfully, it didn't make an apperance on stage.)

They probably just haven't found it yet. Which is a miracle in itself - lol. You can totally spam it, I voted then pulled the page up again and it lets you vote again.

Jonsi is from Sigur Ross? I have some of their songs, but I don't know much about them really. (the bird thing is creeping me out.. lol) But, yeah he makes beautiful music.

That sounds wonderful, missaddicted. What was the live show like?

It didn't work for me unless I cleared the cookies.

Yeah, girlygirl just posted that Kris won it, on MJ's blog. She shouldn't have! Actually I think the Glamberts must know about that poll. I even think Adam has won it before.

I voted once for LLWD on that poll, am I a good enough fan?

Yeah, Jónsi is from Sigur Ros. Actually, I know them only be name. I discovered Jónsi's album only last week and saw Friday morning that he was here today, LOL. I'll have to go check out Sigur Ros.

AMAZING! He has this high-pitched voice, but it's really powerful live. And his band is great. They were only 5 on stage and sometimes it sounded as though they were 12. Really dream-like atmosphere. Just beautiful.

Maybe they're distracted with all the Finland media and they're going to be busy spamming radio stations for IIHY anyway ;)

Oh, wow! you work fast. :) Sigur Ross seem to have that same dreamy, drifty sound.

Especially now that he's asked them to. :)

I have heard of Sigur Ros also but don't remember if I've heard their music.

Thanks for the clips, missaddicted.
