LOL about the thrift store. And you're right. Oliver's pants are riveting as well... but totally not for the good reasons!

Oh, Earl! I'll watch it tomorrow, I really need to get to bed.

Interview with Kris.

Kris Allen Talks to the United Nations Foundation | KrisAllenAddicts.com | Fan Site For American Idol Winner & Platinum Selling Artist - Kris Allen

It was good, except for the end, which wasn't about Haiti. He's so bad at simply saying what he's doing.

He should have mentioned, when the guy said he'd be in Hershey, that he's opening for Daughtry. And he's the one who should have brought up Keith Urban. (Maybe he also could have mentioned he's opening for someone else big, that he can't reveal yet.)

New music? "No." What about the new single? Didn't need to name it, just say it'll be out soon. That was also a chance to plug his current single, and his album (he never plugs the album. I don't get why.)

I think more of this info should be provided to interviewers, as it doesn't all seem to be. Like the single being platinum, Top 10 in various formats, etc. But Kris really needs to memorize this stuff and repeat it over and over in interviews. A year ago it seemed cute that he was shy, but now it's just annoying and frustrating, sometimes.

Earl Stevenson. Honestly, is there any guy this good currently on AI? He's a good songwriter. He's a good singer too but certain things bother me about him, like he always seems to need to blow his nose, he has a slight lisp, and he's often flat-sounding. The same things that bothered me on CI. But I don't know if these aren't strengths. It depends on what kind of genre he wants to be in. Originality and uniqueness are important too.

Why does Drew have the strongest accent of any of them last year (except maybe Mitch)? (I'm listening to his little speech after Earl's video.) He sounds nice, but almost like he has a brogue, like he's Scottish. So is that the accent of his area? (I'm pretty sure I asked this on TWoP back during S6, too. I think the response I got was basically, "Accent? What accent?" lol)

Kris is now saying he likes Casey (period). I agree. Though Kris doesn't watch as regularly as we do. I doubt he saw Casey on Tuesday. Casey is good but he's almost trite. (Unlike Kris.) I wonder why Kris doesn't like Crystal? I wonder why I don't really like Crystal either?

The Kris/Casey question. I agree Kris hasn't watched every week PLUS I think he loves the guitar playing. LOL. Casey's a good guitarist.

I also think he wants to mention several people that he thinks are talented. Crystal's got a lot of fans and he did say he liked Crystal and Kaitlyn, but Lee and Casey don't get a lot of credit. I think Kris remember's Chris Daughtry's encouragement - it meant a lot to him - so that's why I think he started to push the ones that weren't getting the praise Crystal was getting. Kris likes to spread the praise around, even during season 8 he never failed to say how talented he thought they all were.

As for me, I think Crystal is the most talented. But I'm not really at the point that I want to buy her music yet. So I don't know..

From USA Today's interview with Tim.

It was funny. When I first got on the show, I almost felt like I needed to change for American Idol. I know that happens for a lot of people. They get on the show, and they change a little bit. They stop being who they would be if they were off the show. Those first couple weeks, looking back, that's kind of what I was doing. Except Hallelujah was definitely me being myself, and Come On Get Higher was one of those, as well. There were several weeks where I wasn't really being myself. Then, last week, with the Elvis song, I went, 'You know what? I'm just going to go out there and do what I would do if I was at home and I was playing this song. This is how I would do it, and this is how I would interpret it, and this is as honest as I can be with this performance.

I thought that moment came with the Beatles week.

That was also a really good week.

Hmm, interesting. I seem to remember someone giving just that advice.

I seem to remember him saying the advice he would give or did give -- basically - be yourself - they picked you for a reason.

Kris talking to Las Vegas Country radio station.

YouTube - KRIS ALLEN INTERVIEW 04.22.10.wmv

Dear Kris - please no. I know you love it and I do like some country songs, but no. Stay with me in pop/rock/folk/indie/rap/hiphop blah, blah, blah. (I think country radio is the only station I can't do) Thanks. :|

Have to say he does sound really uncomfortable talking to them. I just don't know why. And I am totally not posting this on TWOP - lol

Kris answers the questions well; clearly he's not going country! But he wants to get those fans interested, and that's not a bad idea. (The more fans, the better.)

And can I say...I can't believe that on the headlines thread on MJ's they were actually beating the same dead horse, to wit: "But if Kris's single is so successful, why isn't his album doing better?" Again. Amazingly, people chew this over every week or so,and say the same exact things, and still find it fascinating.
