I don't really have an opinion on Adam's advice. He doesn't really have anything interesting to say, but I didn't necessarily expect that he would, so whatever.

His advice can be summed up as, "Be more like me."

Brian Dunkleman was Seacrest's co-host on Season 1, btw.

Kris likes Casey (as I do). Even if he looks way too much like the young Jeff Bridges. That wasn't especially memorable, but then nothing Casey does is memorable.

I divide the singers this year this way:

Casey, Lee, Crystal -- people I can picture singing in a "serious" rock setting, like a club, a theatre, etc. People who would create music, not just sing it.

Aaron, Katie -- people I can picture singing in singing competitions, pageants.

Michael, Siobhan -- somewhere in between. Not really the authentic rock artist type, but not pageantbots, and a little more interesting. Theatrical. Can't really place them.

Tim -- one lucky son of a bitch.

Tim will be starring on "90210" in six months.

Yeah, that's my main problem with him. What he does is not my favorite kind of thing, so he would need to be way more exciting than he is to bring me in. Tonight didn't do anything for me.

LOL. Totally.

Who's going home? I think it's the end for Andrew probably. Otherwise, Aaron? Katie? I'm not sure.

They threw Aaron under the bus tonight, I thought. They also threw Siobhan under it. The bus was busy tonight.

Oh, and I forgot Andrew.

I would guess TPTB want the Top 5 to be (in no particular order) Tim, Crystal, Lee, Casey, and Katie.

You're right, missaddicted, there have been fewer Kris commercials lately. I think there were two last week. But tonight was the first time there were none. It's knollish, but, to me, it's too much of a coincidence that Ken Warwick says they're having Adam on the show to bring the focus back on him, and then Kris is suddenly missing. I just can't believe that's unplanned.

I don't think it's knollish. The commercial has been airing since January. I don't think commercials have a life that is longer than three months usually. Seriously, I wouldn't worry about it. We'll see if they bring it back next week, but they might have ended their run.

So, overall, my take on the whole shmear is that Adam looked a lot better last year,

than he looks now, but other than that, I don't see, as I said earlier, the progression that I do see in Kris, in the Davids, etc. The fact that they seem beyond Idol now. Maybe this is just me. Then again, based on what Warwick said, it may be very calculated. They probably want to present an Adam who reminds people of the Adam on Idol, not the post-Idol Adam.

The show tonight seemed to be geared towards presenting an Adam who is as far away from this Adam as poosible:

Now he's just the boy next door again. Do I buy this? I don't know. As I often say, I don't know who he is. He confuses me.

I'm surprised how much they pimped WWFM tonight.

The nice thing is that the Ford commercials with Kris are running on a lot of other shows and other networks.

I think Crystal and Casey were solidly good, but their song choices just didn't do anything for me. Tim I actually liked, and Lee was pretty good. So yay.. top 4. (my lack of enthusiasim is huge)

The rest of them.. meh. I'd probably send home Andrew and Katie.. maybe Aaron.. or Siobhan? So many to choose from.

I thought Ryan's introduction to Adam in the audience was hella awkward. And just plain odd, there was a weird vibe in the studio for me today. Adam's advice was pretty good.. but..

Also awkward? Seeing the Glee folks faces everytime the judges were on screen. Love them.. but they are distracting. I don't need to see them grimace in pain. lol

Why was Ryan dancing during Tim's performance?

He was! With Michael Sarver apparently. Ryan is on crack these days.

Oh and I agree about the Glee folks, I found it distracting as well. Matthew Morrison especially had a look on his face that seemed to mean "get me out of here". Not that I totally blame him.

I'd replace Casey with Mike in your top 4 and that'd be my top 4. I prefer Casey as person though, Mike gives douche vibes.

Archie got a bigger and stronger hand from the audience (maybe Archie is really the intuhnational supuhstah). And David Cook did, of course. I don't think that's what you're talking about, but there was a certain politeness to the applause, vs. huge enthusiasm.

Adam had very little personality or "it" factor, I thought. He seemed (as he sometimes does) just another ex Idol contestant who is not a mega-watt personality. Adam is more the sort of performer who creates a persona onstage. Offstage he's relatively dull, to me, though when he's on his best behavior he's nice at least.

He had pretty good advice. I never really understand the mentors' advice, since we don't really get to see the whole session.

Anne Murray on CI6 was probably the best mentor I ever saw on an Idol show.

I liked Mike's vocals but I really hated what he did with the song. So that's why for me he's out of the top group.

And I never see the Kris commercial anyway *sob*. I thought it was funny last night that Kris talked about it at the show.

Ryan is so annoying. Seriously, can we vote him off?

oh, and it wasn't so much the applause from the audience, I just thought Adam himself looked uncomfortable in the audience. Almost nervous. Which he never really did last year. It was strange.

I also would like Brian Dunkleman back. Maybe a petition to have him join the Dream house?

Is it me, or does it seem incredibly tacky for a guy who succeeded on the show to make a remark at the expense of a guy who failed on it? What was even funny about his comment? It was just a cheap shot. This whole show can get like that at times.

Beyond tacky.

I actually do want Dunkleman. (seriously I thought it would be kinda cool) When Ryan said he'd be at the other theatre..I was happy.. then Ryan dashed my dreams by being a complete douche and acting like an ass.
