It's like mass hysteria.

I'll bet you're talking about twitter, aren't you? I guess we have to remember that the #1 trending topic on twitter is usually Justin Bieber. While that's usually not the trending topic in real life!

By the way, if this tweet is true, then it might be happening.

What my email from RCA said was that he's providing the "i've been there" POV. which makes sense.

The DJ wrote stuff like this:

Adam has no credibility. He hasn't proven himself mentor worthy. Even Miley was better suited. And that's not saying much.

Then, he gets accused of the usual homophobia, I suppose, and answers:

Fear filled and hate filled? Hardly. My taste does not lean to Adam, but aside from that, he lacks credibility.

These people (fans) are sick. I'm seriously scared. If Adam mentors on AI, there will be no turning back. It's giving these people a big stick to beat the brains out of the rest of us, like, forever more.

Well, I agree with him of course. The thing is, maybe he should have kept quiet about it... or maybe he was in need of attention.

I'm in wait and see mode, I'm still not sure I believe it. I'm tempted to say the same thing as you of course. But I'm not sure it would really make a difference.

Lost is at 9, lol. I'll watch that with you (but I already record and watch it anyway!).

Nope, the real world. It's like mass hysteria in regards to Adam. I don't know what the magic formula was but man he hit it. Beiber has it too. They should tour together. The fans could twitter battle every night. :) There can be only one...

I guess this was that DJ's original post:

Another reason Idol has jumped the shark: Next week's mentor - Adam Lambert. HE IS NOT A LEGITIMATE ARTIST! Idol, you MEGA Fail.

SleepinIn, you lost me a little bit:

What's the mass hysteria you're talking about, if not on twitter?

LOL. Someone on the Kris/TWoP thread is calling himself/herself "ThreeRandmWords", to parody "MyWayToday", etc. I assume.

Kris's performances at the Best Of The South Gala (if anyone's still here):

Exclusive Video Of Kris Allen At Best Of The South Gala

At the beginning he says "our lease is up in August". . . sounds like he might move back to Arkansas? I hope not yet. I think there are a lot of opportunities for him in LA.

This video of MITM makes Kris sound kind of ... well, not as good as he really sounds.
Some videos seem to do that to him. Of course, I don't always like the Cale harmonies, either. I don't really want to hear a duet. (I know you guys don't agree.)

Is It Over with sax solo...interesting. I don't love the sound quality of these videos, though.

Pretty much from the Adam is the new singer of Queen to Best friends with Madonna, to Gaga is writing songs for him (which is closer to the truth) media soundbyte hysteria.

Going back to Kris, I loved the press conference clip, when Morgan Freeman is looking at Kris and thinking .. Hey maybe I should go to Rwanda.. then Kris is impressing people.

I liked the performance too..even the sax. I just like Kris's enjoyment of music of every type. I did think they looked like divinity students though.. LOL. (haircut needed)

Ugh, Adam mentoring. Well, you know I like Adam, and I like his music. I don't think he should be mentoring although I'm sure he'd be good at getting them to relax a bit. I think they should have had Kelly as a mentor or Carrie or Chris. But, hey! Maybe the next week they can have For Your Entertainment week where they all sing songs from FYE? I really think the show is looking all kinds of desperate here.

I'm actually kind of surprised by how much this pissed me off. And reading Top Idol.. looks like Tim's going to get some more votes.

LOL, SleepinIn, I'm almost glad to see it pisses you off as well, since I believe it's usually pretty hard to make you lose your cool!

ross, will you vote for Tim tonight? Heh.

Another thing with that whole Adam as a mentor thing is that the fanwars are back out in full force. I wouldn't even venture on MJ's tonight. I hate the fanwars and this just fuels them again.

Oh, yeah, it totally makes the show look desperate, I agree. "Oh, let's ask our resident rawk god superstah (not!) to mentor". Lame. Even lamer than Miley Cirus and you both know how lame I thought that was.

I do like Adam, as a person and musically but man it's crazy how much they've pushed him from the beginning to now. When with everyone else it's don't let the door hit you on the way out. You're lucky if we'll have you back. It does piss me off. You bet. It's a I-hope-Tim-wins, kinda pissing me off. LOL It would serve them right :thefinger:

Whatever though. I don't blame Adam for it and He'd be crazy to not do it.

It's just infuriating. :angryfire: :violent2:

No, for sure, I don't blame Adam either. He would be completely crazy not to do it. Still, with all his over-exposure and his OTT fans (not you!), it's hard to like him. Especially since I don't like his music.

The microwave emoticon is made of win!

I still have to watch the Morgan Freeman/Kris clip. But, man, they really did look like divinity students with those black suits/tuxes/whatever. Cale should have kept his ziz--zag beard.

Haha, you beat me to the middle-finger emoticon, SleepinIn.

You're right, missaddicted, Top Idol has provided relief from the mental anguish. My favorite post was from a new poster/former lurker who went on a rant that was hilarious.

I'm glad about your reaction, SleepinIn.

I don't think Adam or Kris should be mentoring. I find it hard not to see this as a direct slap in the face to Kris, though, since he was the winner. If anyone from the most recent past season is going to be honored with being asked to mentor, it should be the winner, or no one (unless it was, say, the Top 3). It shouldn't be the guy who came in second.

Spoilers!

American Idol 9 Top 9 Song Spoilers! | mjsbigblog

LOL at Aaron!! Once again, he's doing a song that was done really well in the past, by Archie this time (and also Theo on CI).

And Crystal is doing a song that was done twice before on AI and also once on CI. Another song to retire from Idol. Still, I have more hope for her than for poor Aaron!
