Somehow, that reminds me. I don't know what Jive is going to release for single #2, but thinking about Aaron I realize it shouldn't be anything that sounds like a generic Idol ballad. That's what Aaron's single might be, if he was the winner. What they need to release for Kris is something that shows what's special and unique about him. Actually, a lot of songs on his album do that. So that's a plus. But of course the one that I can't picture any other Idol singing is AWM. It's such a non-Idol song.

I am of the opinion that you should pick another song if the said Idol has been wildly praised for said performance. :icon_smile:

If it's one of those much vaunted Idol 'moments' don't do it. Think twice. It's not like you're singing to a brand new audience that might not have seen it... you're singing it to the audience that watched the moment. (for the most part)

I didn't think Aaron was that bad at ANS.. Kris was just that good. My point is why do a performance that isn't going to make you stand out? They're all singing other people's songs so it's not like they can't make a moment out of it, but why not make another moment - something that can be remembered as your moment.

Those David Cook pictures are amazing. :)

By the way, I'm not a Jaydee Bixby fan, but that, to me, was a talented 16 year old country singer. I don't understand Aaron as a country singer. But I don't know a lot about modern country. I do think he's a really nice kid. You can just tell that, I think.

Reuben looks good. Last year he was sweating bullets up there. I read that he lost weight so it's not a surprise, but he looks a lot better.

ETA: If anyone's counting, I think that makes three of the eight (Idols) who've performed so far, right?

Do you think the show was presented by Clash of the Titans or what? That introduction was really weird. Did not make me want to see that movie at all.

You know, watching Ruben perform, it's kind of easy to understand how he's not that popular nowadays. He's a good singer, but otherwise, it's all very "meh". I could picture the judges calling him old-fashioned after that performance.

Well, I agree with some of that, but I thought it was kind of fresh and light, well sung, and I liked it. Better than meh, for me. I think I read he's been working on the stage in Ain't Misbehavin', so he has a different kind of career, and he rates high on urban radio, apparently. I like him, but he's no big star.

Beatles songs next week? How original, Idol! I LOVE those songs though, so I'm okay with the theme.

I guess she's pretty young. Still, I don't like that quality.

After all the buildup, Usher was just okay. Maybe worse. It's very hard to sing and dance at the same time (that was live, I think, wasn't it?).

So did you expect Katie to be in the bottom three?

What did Mike just do to Ryan? That's just wrong. :(

ETA: Idol song choices are so boring! Beatles? Sheeesh. Who's going to be the mentor? Any guesses? Yoko Ono?

Yeah, I think Usher was singing live. Well, it was pre-recorded obviously, but I guess he was singing live.

So, will Tim finally go? Didi kind of had a stank attitude, I thought her attitude was worse than Siobhan's.
