Funny how they talked about everyone... except Casey. Did they just forget him? Not that I blame them.

I didn't watch it yet. I'm in work this saturday. Can't wait to get out, it's in the 70's out there. Anyhow, I don't think they mentioned Casey last week, either.

It struck me as funny since they mentionned everyone else! Last week, they concentrated on the eliminated contestants and didn't mention several others. This week, he was the only one not mentionned.

Just read that the concert tonight is cancelled due to bad weather in Dallas. That's too bad for the people who were going. I thought the weather was always nice in Texas!

Well, Charles Browder tweeted this: "Sorry everyone, I appologize for my stupidity, insensitivity, hate crime, whatever else." lol

So God knows what he did now. The "gay hat" remark?

Idolatry: I don't especially find I'm on the same wavelength as Slezak and his various cohosts this season. I am for some things and not others. Siobhan is interesting and I like her, what I've seen of her, anyhow, as a "personality", but I'm not a big fan of her singing and I don't expect to be. In the comments someone wrote that her singing can be "monotone" like her speaking voice, and the poster has "NO IDEA why people are loving her high notes – yes, she can scream and hold that note, but that doesn’t mean that it sounds good." I agree. By monotone, I think people mean a certain lack of color, or something; a flatness. (Not as in sharp/flat, just flat as in "not round", tone wise. Hope that makes some sense.)

Also I think if you ignore Casey, as they did, it seems much more like a Crystal-Siobhan race (which is what the show seems to want us to feel it is). But you can't actually ignore Casey and he's right up there too.

I agree with Slezak on Tim Urban, agree on Andrew Garcia, more or less, and agree on Katie Stevens. But I don't really get it when Michael talks about the original versions and seems to expect a bit more than I guess I expect.

I agreed with him (not her) about Michael Lynche, and I didn't agree with either of them about Paige. Agreed about Bowersox, but I wonder if the candor people find refreshing right now will always work in her favor.

PS. Maybe our minor contribution to the VH1 vote helped Kris advance (from 9 to 6).
If so, congrats.

Whoot! VH1 - 3 places. We rock. LMAO. (Oh, Kris you deserve crazy VH1 voting fans.. you've got us.. we still love you even though we are sadly apathetic voters.. we're trying)

I like to forget about Casey myself .. lol (I agree he's a good singer though - so he could be a threat) ;) I say Didi is a spoiler. I'm really liking her.

Andrew needs to pick better songs and find ones that mean something to him.

Lee needs to be less visibly nervous. He could own that stage if he let himself.

Katie.. oh no. No, no. no. Totally agree that Katie is not ready for this.

Tim. Oh, Tim. I like him. I like that he knows he's the worst. I like that he's going for it anyway. The what the hell approach appeals to me.

There's still a lot of show, Crystal is miles ahead of the pack for me right now. But there are a lot of weeks, and these people can sing, they just need to find themselves amid the Idol craziness. Look at the crashing and burning last year.. Lil.. oh Lil. If they can crash and burn, they can also find themselves. I hope they are studying their song lists.

and yes, Gay hat.. world explodes. Not the smartest most sensitive comment. But, really not a hate crime.

Well, as someone on Top Idol pointed out, whenever things aren't going top notch for the Glambert's boy, they tend to go after Kris. I've also noticed this when Kris has a success. Funny post on MJ's today from that Tess person, who says Kris should only play small venues, that he's not good at big ones, or something. This kind of post appears after Kris has a success at a big venue (Wichita) for ex.

You're a nicer person than I am, I guess.

Yes, Yes I am. Thank you for noticing. LMAO.

I noticed that too. It's always amusing that whenever Kris plays a bigger venue.. and the crowd goes nuts.. suddenly Kris should stick to playing restaurants. I think Kris should play both, he's hardly the only one doing it.

It's like the TMZ people saying that Kris is only playing theme parks. Well.. so is Adam. So are a LOT of bands. That's why they have concert spaces. They're also lucky to get the gigs, because I'm sure there are a lot of bands that would also like to be doing them.

I still think Kris needs to put the guitar down during CSA. Do we need to rush the stage?

Plus. I know it's a theme park and all, but there were tons of kids there. Which has nothing to do with rushing the stage and removing the guitar from his hands.

They'd be very happy if Kris only played at IHOP at 3am! But that ain't gonna happen. :)

Some of his fans even used to say, "Kris will be best in small venues" and I used to get frustrated reading that stuff because I never thought so -- based on his Idol performances like Ain't No Sunshine, She Works Hard For The Money, Apologize, and Heartless. He didn't seem like a small, folky performer to me.

TMZ --ugh. These are good gigs Kris is getting. Carie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson have probably done similar gigs. What kinds of venues do they expect Kris to play?

I think a lot about Hedley and I think they're a good model. Kris is basically doing what they did -- actually, his gigs are probably a bit bigger. But they did everything he's doing -- radio sponsored gigs, acoustic gigs (usually the whole band, but sometimes just Jacob and Dave), going far and wide -- often, places other people don't go to a lot. I think at first I was kind of a snob and couldn't understand the need to play some of these gigs, like the Abbotsford Ag Fair, with an audience that looked like about 200 people, or playing some small club in northern BC -- but now I do. It depends on the personality of the performer, or if the performer is adaptable to the various size audiences (Kris is). But anyway I'm thrilled Kris is doing this sort of stuff. It's going to pay off for him.

It gives Kris lots of performing experience. It gives a lot of people the chance to see him in person. It's also good that he appears to be a hard working musician who doesn't seem to be trading on his AI winner status. It's like he's establishing himself as Kris Allen, who puts on a good show, not just a continuation of his Idol persona.
