I agree that tonight was not a perfect vocal at all (from Lee). But, at least, watching these live videos, I know that he can sound very good live (in my opinion at least). Also, I love his recorded voice.

I'm not a fan of KOL either. I like Use Somebody but that's it. I actually don't have an opinion on the lead singer's voice. I don't particularly love it, but I don't hate it either.

It grates on me a little. I like Sex On Fire a lot better than Use Somebody! Don't know why. I really don't love the band, don't hate, either -- just don't get the huge praise from everyone.

I won't be able to watch Idol live, tomorrow, as I said the other day. I'll be at work basically waiting to get home to see the recording.

So is it your impression Kris will perform with MFB? I'm getting that impression.

Okay, I'm late, but - I've got notes, I've got notes..

I thought the same thing about Andrew going last.. What a surprise! LOL

Toddrick:

Why pick a Kelly Clarkson song? Is your road to Idol victory not hard enough? Also.. not in key. Good performer, not so much the singing. I also thought Randy made sense. Holy crap!

Aaron Kelly:

I'm so not country, not a qualified judge but it got better as he went along. A little Meh for me.

Jermaine:

I wrote wobbling screechy mess. Guess I didn't like it.

Tim:

Okay Apologize? Seriously, pick songs that they didn't use last year. It will help you, I promise. Kris sang it better, the end.

He seemed nice and he's cute for sure

Joe:

The intense eyes scared me a bit. He was the best up to this point, but got wobbly, He actually reminded me of Anoop too. LOL.

Tyler:

Started good, when it was soft, but when he tried to rock it up oh, he lost the plot. It went all so wrong.

Lee:

He moved into the front with this few bobbles and wobbles but I liked it. Although Chasing Cars sounded weird all short and chopped up. Which didn't do him any favours.

John:

The Shania thing was cute. I didn't think he started in English it was so shaky, it got a bit better for me as he went along, but not my thing at all.

Michael:

[Song Choice moment: Please Idol wannabees Song choice is vital]

It wasn't bad, but it was almost verging on boring for me.

Alex:

Oh Alex you had to be in a group with Mary. I almost want you to win just because of that. I didn't like it though, cute little unripe banana that you are.

Casey:

Sounded alright but the whole Kara thing was seriously awkward and unnecessary. I also have no interest in Casey as a sex symbol.

So right here I thought to myself "A Girl is going to win!!" lol

But wait there's Andrew!

Andrew:

I liked it, I thought the song choice was interesting if only because he picked something original. It's a different song - wheeeee! Not fabulous energy but I liked it more than the judges apparently.

Enjoyed both your recaps/opinions.

MFB is "mother f---ing band." Wasn't that their initials during the tour?

Kris's interviews with the Fox affiliates were awful. It was like we were back a year ago. All he did was answer a question in the most general way, say "So...", fall silent, and wait for the next question. The interviewers were trying to inject enthusiasm, which made it even worse, somehow, since he had none. I'm sad that in a year he's learned no interview skills. It's a shame he can't bring some of the humor and personality he's got in casual interviews to these (slightly) more formal ones. But apparently he can't. That's not going to help him shake the boring label, or get people interested in him.

I'm going to say in advance: I know you guys are gonna make excuses, but you have to admit I'm right, here. And I really wish I wasn't, believe me.

Tonight should be good. I'll be seeing it at 9:30 or so when I get home. :)

Oh, you mean the Idol tour band? I think the Idol tour band and the Idol stage band are two different bands. Rickey Minor isn't in the tour band, right?

About the FOX interviews: I admit I didnt watch them, so I can't really judge. So I won't make excuses, because I do think you have a point, Kris could improve his interview skills. The only excuse I could make for this series of FOX interviews is that it must be really boring to sit there and answer the same questions over and over again (if that's what happened).

Actually in those interviews Kris said that remark amount not being able to imagine being on the earth and not helping people. Which was awesome. I'm so hasty to criticize. Still, I often think about what SleepinIn said one time, how he should memorize a few answers to the standard questions and it would make him more comfortable.

I don't know, maybe that comment earlier was my initial reaction. But Kris is real, sincere, honest, and that comes across and is why people like him so much. I really wouldn't care to change him.

Aw, and I was all set to argue about Kris's interviews! ;)

He's never at his best during this type of interview, Kris thrives with personal connection. I thought he sounded pretty confident in his answers and seemed to know what he wanted to say. You know for this type of interview - with Kris. Kris is really not glib. He thinks carefully about what he's saying.

Leave Right now for boot song? Blech. LOL. They might leave just to get away from it. I'm kidding, it's not that bad. Might grow on me. I guess they want to push Will. Isn't he the only non-US Idol that's performed on the US version?

Ooh! Craptastic lip synched group number for the win, lol.

Ahsley leaving isn't a surprise. I was a bit surprised by Janell leaving though. She wasn't good on Tuesday, but I thought she had made enough of an impression in Hollywood to stay. Guess not.

Allison was pretty fantastic. It didn't make me want to buy her song, but it was the best I've seen her perform.

Wow. eliminating Joe over Tim? I guess what they say is true: it's better to be awful and memorable than competent and boring.

Gah. Todrick is still there.

Tyler, really? Not that I liked him, but I thought that he would stay over Jermaine or Tim for example. Also, did they bleep him or Alex? LOL. Tyler he blamed the judges and I totally agreed with him.

I'm a bit surprised by those results. Heh.

Still, the most important thing? Kris was incredible, I'm sure lots of people will want to download that.

I wish Adam was there to overthrow the lipsynch coach this year. So painful.

I was a bit surprised over Janelle, and Tyler (I missed Tyler's exit -- was he mad?) I jumped over to watch the medal ceremony at hockey right after Kris sang.. which was AMAZING btw.

I would have liked to have seen more of Tyler, but he was not good last night. If you're not good. People will send your ass home. That's how it works. Sometimes they will send your ass home even if you are good.

Now, about Kris.. :)

It was beautiful. Touching, and real. I love him. I want it now! :)

Allison was good too, although her interview with Ryan was still awkward. I think Ryan makes her nervous or something.

They weren't doing lipsynch back in season 7, even on the top 24 show, I wonder what happened.

When Ryan asked him if he had something to say, Tyler replied that he thought the judges didn't give him good advice in Hollywood and that what they said last night, he thought they said it when it was too late. Since I complained about that last night, I can't really blame him for saying it out loud, but it was a bit of an uncomfortable moment.

I expected Tyler to go home and wasn't surprised! I mean, who was going to get on the phone and vote for that? Besides, he was in last place on DialIdol.

The only ones I was sure were staying were Andrew, Casey, Crystal, and that pageant singer, whatever her name is.

Kris was A M A Z I N G.

Ryan didn't introduce him with his title. Did they refer to him earlier as the Idol, or not? (I only watched from his segment on.) It was like he was Elliot Yamin. "Here's Kris Allen." Minor point.

He did. Not before his performance, but at the beginning of the show, he did. He also said "last year's champ" last night, while previewing tonight's show.

Do I need to watch this show? Or can I skip it? I may watch it tomorrow night. Or maybe now.

Kris was so emotionally raw I don't even want to re-watch his performance right away. Selfishly, I hope Kris also gets to go back on the Idol stage and give us his entertaining/fun side, which is probably my favorite side. Kris is amazing as a singer and performer in a few ways. I mean, he has a lot of sides. He's as in-the-moment emotionally when he's being upbeat, onstage, as when he's being emotive/deep. I love this about him. He's really almost like an actor who sings. He's so emotionally connnected.

Kris's album is #16 on iTunes (#5 on pop). With all this exposure I'm sure people will go into stores tomorrow night and the over the weekend looking for his album. The trouble is, I don't think stores have a lot of them. I think Newbury Comics had two left, last Saturday.

Kris Radio Disney videos:

Radio Disney | Watch | Take Over |

Just him and his guitar. Great sound. Awesome version of Heartless.

LLWD: Kris had to change the lyrics from, "We're all staring down the barrel of a gun" to "we're all waiting for the setting of the sun." I guess 'cause this is Disney.
