Is there a link for that? (and is there a tangible reward.. or is it an Idol pride thing?)

I don't have a link, but if you search "Kris Allen" on twitter, you will eventually see one of those "I just voted 'Kris Allen'" things, which is how I found it.

I think the reward is that you get to have dinner with the Italian chick who french kissed him. Probably a Chinese dinner, just to make it all international.

Oh, yeah, VH1...forgot about that...what's my reward for advancing this guy's career while ignoring my own? lol

Just read this tweet:

bo08mo: Help my husband is making me listen to top 40 radio as we wait to go into church. Autotune HELL. Kris Allen only bright spot.

I just voted on the VH1 thing 75 times.

ETA: If you search "Kris Allen" you'll see another new poll: "Who should have won, Adam or Kris?" Kris has a slight lead, probably due to it being a brand new poll. I guess the sparkle moo-moos haven't found this pasture yet.

I hate those polls, you always have to follow somebody weird or they add an application to your page or whatever. I'm not voting. VH1, I can do though.

It's funny, the tweet you posted ross, the woman is also a huge Cook fan. Yeah, I know it's lame I can recognize them by their twitter name!

Yeah, the polls are not my fave thing either. If I vote I usually just block the twitter bird from following me afterwards. And clear my cookies. And stand on my head and pat my tummy three times, while saying, Hedley sucks, Hedley, sucks, Hedley sucks. That usually does the trick.

Wow, that's so cool you recognized the Cokk fan's username!! [Oops. 8O Mistyped 'Cook.' lol] And cool that she likes Kris, eh?*

*Did you notice that "eh"? I may be turning Canadian. Wearing that maple leaf belt buckle has consequences. Oh, and it has a bottle opener on the back, so you can enjoy your favorite Canadian bevvies while wearing it. Pretty wicked, eh?

The satisfaction of a job well done?

I can't do the twitter polls either. I hate that stupid application thing they want to add.

think Deryck Whibley is the sexiest man?

Ugh, no. Now I have to multi-vote for this thing too. Crap. Although the second sexist is Lucas Silveira.. and I think he's hella talented but not so sure about the man part.. though Dirty King was one of my favourite songs this year. Still - can't vote for him as sexiest man. The problem might be that we have no idea what most of these folk look like.

Not knowing what they look like sort of defeats the purpose, eh? (Damn. Belt. Buckle.) Maybe you can go by the sexy sound of their names. Hawksley Workman sounds a little sexy, like a guy who gets the job done.

Or just vote for Jacob.

YouTube - Jacob Hoggard in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat

I thought Lucas Silveira was the transgender guy. Wasn't sure. I think he's getting all those votes as a kind of humorous comment, don't you? Or is he really that sexy? So, why does everything have to be about "sexy," anyhow? How about "best looking?" or "most attractive"? Or do they have those categories also? That's a whole different ball of wax (or kettle of fish, or can of worms, or beans, or something), isn't it? Just sayin, eh?

At first, I didn't even know who Deryck Whibley was. He was just Sum41 guy for me. Not sexy. Not at all. And Avril Lavigne? Isn't she still a little girl? Though I know these two were married and it lasted like two weeks.

I voted for Tim Baker from Hey Rosetta! from that list. Hellllloooo Tim! He's my most recent musician crush, LOL!

ross, the little Canadian flag besides your posts indicates that you're already Canadian! Didn't we tell you before that we had adopted you as a Canadian?

That video was a-mazing, Sleepinin. Great job!! So that's Erica, eh? :canada:

"The Truth" is still not a fave of mine, I have to say...the song is good, but that arrangement is so overdone and Kris sounds a little harsh in his upper register, like he's yelling to be heard above the din. Sorry, but every time he's going to sing "Trying..." I just grit my teeth and wait for the loudness. I just kind of wish it was done differently...it has its beautiful moments.

Maybe "harsh" is the wrong word -- it's not him, it's really that arrangement, I guess.
The whole song could be sung and arranged lot more softly and I think it would actually be more effective that way.

I feel exactly the same. It's been my main problem with The Truth from the start and I haven't been able to forget about it and just enjoy the song. I do think that Kris sounds a bit harsh when the song goes into that "Trying..." part of the song. But, yeah, I think it could have been avoided.

That's an awesome video.

I love that Hey Rosetta! video. I've watched it so so many times. So funny that they filmed it in his house and that it comes out so good!

I can see what you're saying about the Truth. It does get harsh at the "trying" part but I don't know, there's just something I really like about it. I don't think it's a pick for "my next single" right now, but it kind of breaks my heart a little. Which is always a good thing in music.

Anyhow, your video was great. You've right, it does have a little heartbreaking quality. I don't know about single, either. Almost all singles I hear have lyrics that are so easy to pick up on you remember them almost after one hearing. Some of the songs they're promoting for Kris's single are more the give-it-a-few-listens type of song. One thing about Light On, for ex., is you know what it's about and can pick up on the lyrics right away, and it has the repetitive chorus that's simple and clear.

The Adam fans on mjs' are complaining that Adam's New Year's eve event won't be telecast. I don't know why it should, it's a private event. (Adam's fans have not had a lot of chances to see him perform since the tour ended, have they? Come to think of it.) Of course, he was originally supposed to be on ABC with Seacrest. That was one thing I was especially rather miffed about originally -- that he was booked and Kris wasn't. I still wish Kris would have been booked for that. Don't really understand why not.

I was a little miffed about that myself. It worked out for Kris though in the end, Billboard has always been really good to Kris. And I like that Kris will get to sing 2 songs. Seacrest is out (in the cold). And Kris is on Fox.. lots of Idol promo opportunities since it's starting up again so soon.

So lesson for Idols next year. Don't piss off a major television network that is giving you huge opportunities when you don't already have a hit single. Wait until you get one.. then piss them off. Tons of press... but no where to sing. I think RCA was pulling out their hair about this one. It's too bad the New Year's thing isn't going to be at the very least livestreamed.. they'd make a mint for charity.

Adam actually lucked out in some ways, by pissing people off -- because it deflected attention from the bad singing and bad performance -- which was mostly forgotten after a day or so, due to the 'controversy.'

On the other hand, he lost his big national performance spot on NYE, which can't be good. I guess more people would have seen that than the AMAs. I don't know how many people will be watching Kris on Fox, rather than Seacrest on ABC. A lot more than will be watching Adam at Paramount in Hollywood, anyway...

How does that work (I mean that they'd make a mint for charity), I don't get it.

That's true. It was surprisingly bad, that was the most shocking aspect of it for me actually. It was a lot of pressure for him though to close the AMA's when he doesn't have an album out or any songs on the radio.

The way I'd think they make money is if they were charging for the livestream access. I did hear that mentioned so they must have thought about it. Logistics would be a nightmare though.

I can't really sympathize too much with Adam, I guess. Not sure why, except no one gets more opportunities and chances than him, even the winner, Kris. You don't get a lot of second chances. He needs to grab his opportunities, like Kris always seems to. Seriously, I don't think Adam is practical, sometimes.

Actually when it happened I had a lot of sympathy for him, I felt bad about it all the next day. I'm not a complete bastard. :angel4:

How do you guys like this?
