..So did your sister say why she bought you FYE? Is it because she knows you're an Idol fan? Or did she buy it for another reason? (And I suppose the other question is: if the answer to the first question is "yes," why didn't she buy you Kris's album, for that matter?) I'm asking these questions to try to figure out why Adam is selling more albums.

She also bought me Hedley (remember me telling you she liked that one song?) Possibly Hedley was the connection. Jacob was on Idol, Adam was on Idol. Sleepinin likes Idol. Snap. Gift bought. Plus the CD was handy and the cover really does stand out. I think you're right about the dark green of Kris's Cd it doesn't stand out on the shelf. And a lot of places don't have it as prominently featured as Adam's is since Kris's sales were lower.

It seems a shame that Adam's CD would be more handy or that it would be more prominently featured in stores (I actually haven't seen that anyplace I've been, thank God).

And a lot of places don't have it as prominently featured as Adam's is since Kris's sales were lower.

So they will continue to be lower. Hardly seems right, does it? (Luckily I haven't seen anything like what you describe anywhere I've been.)

It seems like in this case Jive could be more active, with displays in stores, posters, etc. The thing is, though, I think they have a different strategy in mind. The things they're doing have longer-term payoffs. I think they're going to push singles and let them sell the album further on down the line.

I'm watching the tape of Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, and it's definitely not dubbed (at least as far as I can tell). I don't hear any keyboards (there's guitar stuff that sounds a little like keyboards), and you can hear the audience clapping and cheering through the song.

I think they're going to push singles and let them sell the album further on down the line.

That will probably depend on the success of the second single. Archie had a smash hit with Crush and then his second single didn't work at all (but I'm pretty sure many of his fans were disappointed with the choice of the second single, what a surprise), so they stopped trying to sell his album and went on to make him record his Xmas album, which sold quite a bit without a lot of promotion or push from Jive.

Daughtry for example. His first album produced like five hit singles. But that's because the singles kept being successful and kept the album selling. If that had not been the case, he probably wouldn't have had that many singles.

I meant I think that is their strategy. Of course, I have no idea how it will play out or if it will work, no one can predict that. Or they could have another strategy, completely different. I don't know. This is sophisticated stuff. It's business, about which I don't know a lot, actually. I just mean I have faith that they intend to sell this album and have plans for how to do it that we may not be able to see at this early date.

Those crazy Pigotts.

Man is in the forest. Cale just tweeted:

Dad just spotted two deer "down a pipeline." thank you W.A.V. (woodland animal vision) just one of the many great "dad traits"

Oh, no, he shouldn't tweet that he's shooting animals. Kris will need to prepare a statement now!

What I love about that Disney video -- I'm just enjoying Kris's great, innate sense of rhythm. The rest of the Top 13/Top 10 didn't have a lot of it. Naturally, Adam can sing "big" and Kris cannot match him, can't sing the Queen/Led Zeppelin stuff, etc. But if you've ever noticed, he stays away from anything rhythmic. He doesn't ever seem to do anything swinging or rock-and-roll (in the old sense. Elvis-style). Stuff Kris would have no trouble singing. The closest anyone in the Top 10 came to that is Matt, but he just doesn't have that rhythm Kris has got.

Covering your bases. ;)

And I agree Kris has a great sense of rhythm. I just watched the She works Hard For the Money video and really noticed it there.

I've been enjoying watching the tweets of all the peeps who got 'Kris Allen' for Christmas. It's pretty interesting to see a fresh perspective from the non-obsessives. LOL

That's one of my real favorites from the season.

Oh, that sounds interesting. You also have to vote for favorite newcomer on twitter. Of course you already know who's winning that. But last time I checked, Allison was ahead of Kris, also. It's a pretty easy list to beat.
