Also, as you probably are aware, Adam was the subject of a Wall Street Journal article by Peggy Noonan. She's somebody I really can't stand, who was Ronald Reagan's speechwriter at one time.

Peggy Noonan: The Adam Lambert Problem - WSJ.com

About the only thing I agree with in this article is that culturally there is truly a lot of crap out there now, and I also think Adam's lack of a sense of why anybody would be offended by his routine was in itself a bit offensive. But to make him an example? I'm sorry, that's wrong. To me Adam is a completely inoffensive person and probably a really nice guy, and like a said, I really don't like this chick or her fake sactimoniousnous and preachiness. Never did.

I know I sometimes get annoyed by Adam and sometimes I think he's a twit, and also there's my sour grapes that he gets so much publicity or whatever, but he's not a symbol of what's wrong with American life. Leave him alone.

They sent those pictures to Adam?

Actually I think they posted them to him on his official website. I read the blog post a little more carefully again, and I think that's what it was.

Okay.. David Cook and the fundraising an example of a great way to devote your money to an Idol's cause..and your support for his causes.

Buying 38 FYE's .. not so good. Adam's fans did raise a lot of money for Adam's Donor's Choose charities earlier this year..a much better way to spend their money.

Seriously. 38 CD's.. Sorry Kris.. not doin' it. Are they keeping the CD's? Or is everyone they know getting one for Christmas? Maybe they are planning to hi-jack Santa and stuff his bags full of FYE. ;)

I don't know if I want to read the Peggy Noonan article. It already seems like it's going to annoy me.

Actually I doubt it would annoy you, it's not OTT or anything. You just probably won't agree with all of it. It's hard not to agree with some of it. Not that he doesn't bring a lot of it on himself. Especially when he takes that "if you don't get it, too bad" attitude. I just didn't like Adam being singled out.

Of course, but that won't help him beat Kris in album sales. You guys know there's a woman who bought 1000 downloads of FYE, right? You can write to her and get one.

According to someone at TWOP Kris's performances on Letterman and Conan will be replayed over the holidays.

Letterman on Christmas Day, and Conan over New Years. Cool.

I'm amazed. I didn't see the initial number at the beginning of the day, but I believe that fans gave at least 8,000$ today to David Cook's team for the Race for Hope. The total for the team is now over 25,000$. I'm really proud of the Cook fans today!

Cook fans did a great job.

This is part of a post from a certain blog. Re the "Bring The Idols To Your Town" contest.

"Frankly, I want to see Matt included in this concert. Matt and Adam are the best live performers. And even though I think Kris is a hoot and a fine musician, I really only want to see him performing live in a duet with Allison or Adam. Kris is funny; he’d be a great mc and occasional musician. But give me Matt, Adam and my girl Allison, and I’m happy."

Yes, it is for real.

If you read over there, be prepared for a replay of the "stupidities" before and after this concert. I have to take back what I wrote to you, SleepinIn, about people no longer talking about the AT&T stuff, since the thread where I found this was actually full of that stuff (before it was deleted). Not that I care at this point -- these folks are ridiculous!

If you read what's left of the posts (still 300 or more), there's all that stuff about Adam's fans making an organized effort to bring the concert to NYC. Just so Little Rock would not win. Kind of stupid.

After all, this was a "bring the idols to your town" contest and at least the people in Arkansas who voted were following the spirit of the contest. I have never thought there was anything wrong with Kris having such hometown popularity and it only makes sense to me that his home area would want to vote for him (and the other two) to have the concert there. (His, family, well, I wish they just stayed out of it. I don't think that's appropriate.)

But for Adam's fans to vote for NYC because it's "neutral territory" -- that's extremely manipulative, isn't it? What is the point? Just to take it away from people who actually want it in their home town? Nice.

I know you have said you're glad it won't be in LR because it would bring up a lot of old stuff, but that doesn't bother me all that much, I guess. People are going to talk crap no matter what.

I believe this concert was a bad idea from the start. It doesn't benefit anyone. Well, maybe Allison a bit, since she's really really under the radar at this point, but other than that, it will only bring the old comparisions to the surface, fanwars, etc.

I think Kris must have been happy to be "rid" of Adam (not in the sense that he doesn't like him, just that he must've been happy to do his things on his own), so I'm not really happy that he'll have to go back to performing at the same concert as Adam.

So, thumbs down to whoever decided it was a good idea to do this.

ITA.

It may benefit Adam, actually, since he hasn't really played any concerts since the tour. (Is that right? It seems strange, doesn't it?) And I guess Allison had to drop out of that Orlando concert so maybe she hasn't been performing, either.

The only thing I can say with any assurance is that Kris is going to keep showing people, at that concert, why he deserved to win AI -- just as he has been, lately, in all his concerts. He's going to be playing his hit song, and I suspect he's going to be getting a lot of love. As for the rest -- eh, what can you do. It's one concert and it will not change the world. And life will go on.

Hey! It's the 1st year anniversary of the thread!

OMG! Really? Let there be dancing in the streets!!!

I agree with this too. As much as I love all three of them - I don't want them to be compared to each other. Adam is Adam, Kris is Kris, and Allison is Allison. They can all be successful - you don't have to tear one down to build another up. They're also individual's and will each have their own paths to pave in the music industry.

I'm actually just glad they didn't powervote for LA quite frankly. I have no doubt that Kris is going to get a great reception in New York aside from the fact that the band is amazing. New York has just been really supportive all the way around... actually for all of them.. LA.. not so much.

Happy Anniversary! Happy Birthday! Happy 1 Year in the thread...

Look who stopped by to congratulate us for talking and obsessing - LOL :reindeer: and :santa: and :grommit: (can't leave the Christmas Grommit out)
(the things you find... lol)

I'm assuming you're worried Kris will be compared negatively to Adam, not vice-versa. I'm not sure how much Allison will get dragged into it.

I can't get too worked up. I don't know if these comparisions will happen but even if a million people said Adam is better than Kris, it just doesn't matter to me because he isn't. Don't be too worried. If not now then eventually everyone will know how great Kris is. It's been happening slowly all along.

Not worried so much, as annoyed by them. lol.

Very, very good point.

I love the Sweater Song by Jacob. You can really tell that he loves it too. That was cool thanks. :)

Did you want a Download of the Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas/Christmas Song from WPST? The sound is awesome.

MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

(I can do the others too if you want.. Just haven't yet, lol) :tongue3:

I still haven't heard WWFM on the radio here. I've heard FYE - but they don't really play it a lot. I've only heard LLWD on one station in the area and it's a small one.

FYE does get video play on Much though (when they play videos). And Adam of course is never off the news....or year end lists for that matter.

You don't have the monopoly on that. :D

I don't usually download much. Makes my computer run slow. But thanks. :)

I've only heard it (LLWD) once -- that time I was driving home from the concert. People on the forums from Boston say they have heard it on a couple of the big stations. Actually, when I heard WWFM today I was listening to the radio in hopes of hearing LLWD.

So -- what about Simon leaving AI after this season? I'm surprised so many people think AI cannot go on without Simon. It may not go on much longer, but not because of Simon not being there. I really don't think it would be all that different without Simon, provided they get a decent judge.

About Adam making year-end lists... I'm not surprised, I guess. Let's see if he makes any next year.
