The music industry selling adult sexual content to minors was probably more my point. Lady Gaga is featured a lot in the tween magazines, I notice (as I scan them looking for stuff about Kris), along with Justin Beiber, Archie, Demi, Miley, etc. She's one of the celebs prominently featured. If you really take a look at what's marketed to kids today (most people ignore it) it's sick.

But like you guys say, the industry is desperate to sell music. Anyway, I still don't admire this particular aspect of it.

Now, in the case of Adam, I don't know what drives him. I think most of us can picture ourselves doing what Kris or Matt does, but not what Adam does. I've even been onstage a lot, and am closer to what Adam does than the rest of them, but I still can't picture myself wanting to be that sexual onstage. So I guess I'm wondering what motivates people to want to do that. (I guess my curiosity about what motivates people comes from acting, also. Or maybe acting comes from that curiosity. Anyhow, I notice most people aren't as interested in motivations as I am. So, sorry if I bore.)

Guys, be careful of mj's blog. My security system kicked me off there a couple of times today. Or recommended that "this website is unsafe." It's not the first time. I think it was what infected a computer in work that I was viewing it on.

Kris is apparently in the studio again, huh? I wonder what he's recording? Since Cale is there also, he might be with the new band.

ETA: I really like Kris's "Thanks" on his CD. I hate when people thank God, on their CDs, normally. Not that I'm against people thanking God, but on a CD it seems so inappropriate. "I want to thank God, Mom, my girlfriend, Starbucks, RCA..." etc. But what Kris wrote actually made me think. Anyway, for some reason, I'm not sure what, it didn't seem inappropriate at all this time.

When I got to the end of his thanks, I'm going to be honest, I suddenly had tears in my eyes. That's crazy, right? I think it was this: "Thank you to the fans for everything! I would not be where I am without you and the love that you have given me." Nothing very original about that. Only, somehow, coming from him, it was poignant. I don't know why, I guess because I do feel I've shared the journey with him in some way. Not to mention, voted my ass off. lol. Anyhow it's weird how suddenly he can make you think he's talking just to you, the same as with his singing. I think it has to do with "what you see is what you get." Sincerity. Pretty cool.

PS -- Speaking of voting, let's vote our tushies off for that People's Choice thing.
:) (It only takes about 15 minutes to vote 50 times.)

You definitely don't bore! It's true though that I never really questionned his motivations. But what if he only does it because he enjoys it? Does he need a superior motivation to do it? I'm not questionning what you said here, these are just honest questions.

I don't know why, I guess because I do feel I've shared the journey with him in some way.

Yeah, I think that's what I like the most about Idol in general. Finding an artist you like and feeling as if you shared the journey with them. It's probably what pushes some people to act inappropriately or act like they know them personally, but it's still truly compelling to have that connection.

I had the same question about Kris being in the studio, his tweet and Cale's tweet definitely made me curious!

Anybody going to watch the AMA's tonight? I might let in on while doing some other stuff. I'm curious. Not only about Adam, but there might be some good performances in the mix.

How innocent that question seemed yesterday! lol

The Perez Hilton crowd weighs in on Adam:

Perez Hilton: Adam Lambert's Cock Shock!

Epic fail is epic fail. I'm not feeling much love for Adam for trying to cry censorship or homophobia or gender discrimination or whatever. Adam, you blew chunks, baby, laugh it off, or apologize, or do something that doesn't make you look even more of an ass, and just move on.

Oh, it hurt to watch that performance. (See: Gemini's 2009, Theo Tams) He was nervous and pitchy (dawg) and he wasn't the only one.. (see: Timberland) and it really brought it home to me that - Yep, no matter what the media is pushing as their agenda (intergalactic superhero?) - Adam is a new artist and he isn't being treated that way. So I have to give him lee-way for this one, and place the blame a bit on RCA. He's was up there performing (and closing the show??? Like what?) for performers that are on the top of their game and have been touring for ages. I don't know what we all expected but we shouldn't be that surprised, I guess. The content.. eh.. whatever. But the total OTT -ness of everyone really made me appreciate Kelly Clarkson and Alica Keys and Jay-Z who you know, just sang well. As we were saying earlier, when everything is shocking, nothing is shocking.

So yeah, in the immortal words of one K. Allen. "Sometime we fall down.." and yep, sadly epic fail. On the plus side, WWFM is getting more push.. I like that song better anyway, lol.

Lots o' goodies.

Kris seems like he will have a good number of radio adds this week! 11 adds on HAC! He's the third more "added" after Daughtry and John Mayer. A few adds also on Top 40, but the complete number will be up tomorrow.

ETA: Adam trying to find excuses (about the sound mix or whatever) and trying to accuse viewers and ABC of discrimination doesn't impress me at all. I think that's actually worse than the performance itself.

You mean The Script. (lol?)

Theo sang bad, I felt bad for him, he's a nice guy. It wasn't even a huge embarrassment, More like: oops.

Adam...omg. I think the display of hubris is surprising. Not realizing that he would offend a lot of people? Or worse, realizing it and not caring? (That might work for Eminem, but not for Adam.) He even turned off some of his fans.

I wasn't shocked at all by anything because I saw the rehearsal clip and kind of figured he'd go for the shock value. The thing is, not only is there nothing new about this stuff, I think people are sick of it, and this performance was somehow a last straw to many people.

As for singing badly. Not that he isn't a good singer, but he's overrated. I said this when he was on AI: he could be pitchy, made mistakes, had a really unpleasant tone, at times -- nobody ever called him on it.

All you hear from fans and the press is that he has a "flawless" voice. He doesn't, nobody does. Sound issues? Whatever.

Finally, he has a sort of amateur quality, the same thing I noticed on tour. I think on AI they have ways of presenting people to their best advantage (especially if they're being pimped). But outside of the show it shows up. Anyhow, I expected the same thing last night, so it wasn't a shock, but it was a shock to a lot of people, apparently.

Not that he isn't relatively entertaining. But it's kind of like if you're on a cruise ship or at Disney and you enjoy the entertainment because you're on vacation and you may as well be a good sport. Not a lot of originality or individuality.

Who? 8O Never heard of them.. :grommit:

The radio adds today were awesome. 16 and Kris is #19 on HAC!! so exciting for him!! (and me, lol).

I know what you mean, not that I saw him on tour or anything, but it's a very different thing to dominate the Idol tour than it is in the wider music marketplace.

I watched Etalk tonight and it had like a 1/2 second glimpse of Kris, Ben asked Kris who would wear more make-up Adam or ..? someone else, lol Kris said probably Adam and they moved on. Ben did have a chat with Adam after his performance and mentioned twitter going bananas, I think that's what Adam was aiming for - it was actually kind of a nice interview. Adam didn't look devastated or anything, lol.

There was another interview with Access Hollywood and the interviewer slapped Adams hand and sort of told him off, which was when Adam mentioned that if the performance was censored then it was discrimination. Adam actually did look upset in this interview (to me anyway). Maybe he got a lot of that backstage.

Excuses don't help anyway, shake it off and move on like J-lo did. That girl got up from her fall so fast my head was spinning.

Haven't caught up with this but have been watching the X Factor on UK TV - and was amazed that Jamie (find on yuoutube and see what you think) was nocked out by the twins, who prance about on stage like two haves of an acident and can't sing!

I'm guessing Jamie has a career - someone in the business just has to be smart enought to sign him. The twins lasted another couple of weeks (and for laughs are also worth a look) and will also have a career - probobly as childrens TV presenters.

I saw Kris on Ellen just before I went to work this morning. Came out of the shower and realized I'd missed half of LLWD. It sounded good! He then did a short interview with Ellen where he didn't get much chance to be funny, but came across really well. They talked about Katy. mostly.

Kris got a thoughtful, excellent review today that I mostly agreed with. (Can't find it now.) I notice when he gets a good review, the person usually seems to get what he's all about, too. He also got a "D" from some paper in Salt Lake City.

I would have liked his album to have stayed higher on iTunes longer, it's gone down to the low 30's on the overall chart, about 15 on the pop chart. And LLWD and FYE are just about neck and neck, which surprises me a little, considering the airplay for LLWD. But then, LLWD has been out a lot longer, and Adam did have his little controversy, which unfortunately didn't hugely boost his sales, but probably did to some extent.

GMA cancelled Adam's appearance. I don't think this is too surprising -- I think mainly ABC must either be worried about more complaints, or is slapping down him and his company, if in fact he did things on TV he didn't run by the produers/censors/network (or whomever) first. I think the latter.

At least, he's in the top 10. I can't say these numbers make me jump to the ceiling in happiness though.

The Adam drama is already getting old. But, I'm like fascinated by it. Fascinated and repulsed.

Ellen was wonderful. LLWD sounded awesome and Kris (whether he likes it or not was adorable - lmao). The band is gonna be good, so I'm excited for them.

I wish the numbers were better, but what can you do, right?

The Adam drama is a little insane. GMA cancelled? Like they don't have delay? or live to tape? What? Are they new? That was a bad decision. I don't care what they say they knew about the AMA performance, Adam may have ramped it up a bit, but seriously, they knew what he was going for.. I mean I knew what they were going for and I wasn't at rehearsals. Plus they kept saying it was the most shocking thing ever.. If it's the most shocking thing ever doesn't that mean it would have to shock you? Something to think about. LOL

I just wish it had been about his singing. He has a great voice and radio isn't adding his singles right now. Hopefully that will change.
