I'm listening to the crazy lady interviewing Kris now.

Oh, I definitely didn't mean to imply that he was disowning it either. And I didn't mean to start a big debate either! I guess I'm just worried about the media taking what he has to say and making it sound like he was ungrateful or something. Which wouldn't surprised me. I think that explains my knee-jerk reaction to his comment.

I don't think I was reacting to what you said, so much. I was more just reacting to what he said, and my own feelings about it. It suddenly occurred to me today that the guy didn't even get to do this his own way, and it's his song, really. I mean the other version of it went to #8 on iTunes, I think, and that wasn't really done his way, either. Kind of annoying.

PS -- Did you guys read that review by the guy who didn't necessarily love the album but thought Kris is an artist and wished all the songs could be written by him, like Red Guitar? He said it's like John Mellencamp, said they're making Kris be 'John Cougar' right now. I don't know about that but it was interesting.

I agree with you on that, for sure. Ah, compromises...

I just looked at my Windows Media Player and they're adveritsing Kris in the Windows Media Guide. "Kris Allen. Self-Titled Debut. Full Album Listening Party."

Why can't I play this CD in my laptop?? Doing something wrong...

Good point about Heartless Ross. Compromises indeed.

Any of you got that song?

I do, I do. I see why they're bonus tracks too. I think I like the Daughtry track a bit more than From the Ashes, and either of them could happily replace Lifetime for me. But Kris loves Jon Foreman, no way was Lifetime being replaced.

Here's an interview with Jim with AInow - very interesting.. and really long.

Jim's 5 part interview with Kris is up too

Aw, #3 is nice. It was good to see the high numbers today, even if they vanish tomorrow (not saying they will.. but still)

This is really cool to watch. It's the soundcheck from CSA, you can't hear anything but Kris is so, so bouncy in it. Very awesome. Live Kris is going to rule.

Numbers for this week (well the last week):

82 56 LAMBERT*ADAM FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT 26065 42 18397 44462

103 80 ALLEN*KRIS LIVE LIKE WE'RE DYING 21402 45 14754 119553

Nice increase for Kris! Nice increase for Adam also, but we have to count the fact that FYE came with the pre-orders for his album (meaning that FYE downloaded when somebody pre-ordered the album), while LLWD did not.

Just got an e-mail from iTunes. LOL. They tell me that they're responsible for the accounts problems, billing problems and the music downloading problems... and that I didn't write at the right place. Huh? Isn't my problem a combination of all these problems? Whatever.

Just saw Kris on Regis and Kelly. Great job! They were also joking about the Relly award that he got, funny stuff.

Happy Birthday DCTR! David's album came out one year ago today. He promised surprises at his show tonight to celebrate, can't wait to see what they are!

So did they refund your second purchase missaddicted? They better have.

I loved the Regis and Kelly performance and Interview, they all seemed really comfortable there, and it was so funny.

Here's a paparazzi video of Kris arriving at the MTV studios (it's really long and there is a LOT of Spencer and Heidi to wade through before you get to Kris)

The guy from iTunes just told me that I had to write to another service and that they would help me. Maybe. He didn't tell me anymore than that. I'll probably end up giving a copy of the CD to my mom, so I'll just consider that I bought it once for me and once for her!

I saw the HDD predictions for the sales this week. I admit that I was wishing for at least 100K copies sold for Kris, but they only predict 75K-80K. I hope they're wrong!

Itunes doesn't seem that helpful I have to say.

The sales projections aren't great, are they? :( I hope they're wrong too, but if they're only predicting 100,000 odd for Justin Beiber who has been EVERYWHERE promoting his Cd, then I can't say I'm all that surprised.

My hard copy of the CD came from Amazon today - yay! So that's 4 from Canada right there. whoot!

Hedley was on CHUM this Morning, well Jacob and Dave anyway. Podcasts - Today's Best Music 104.5 - CHUM FM (Artist's Interviews)

Well, Hits has revised Kris's numbers upward already. Now they're saying 85 - 90K. I wouldn't be too surprised if they need to revise it again.

Something happening that's strange, that I read about in two separate places: People went to Walmart yesterday and couldn't buy the CD. One person on mj's mentioned she went to three Walmarts and it was sold out. Then I read today how someone said a Walmart they went to had none of the new releases yet.

Yeah, I remember people talking about that also last year... I think it's a distribution issue, either Wal-Mart's fault or the label's fault I'm not sure. It might depend where they are too. I lived in the middle of nowhere when I was young and they never had the new releases on Tuesdays either or almost never.

Yay for the revised HDD prediction, it's going in the good direction!

True they can keep revising it upwards.. :) That would be good. I wouldn't count Kris out of anything to tell the truth.

I was just re-watching the Alexa Chung MTV performance, and watching the audience. It's sort of interesting to watch from that perspective, everyone seems into it, and singing along. Kind of cool actually.

I also keep hearing snippits of stuff from an interview that Kris did with Cosmo radio - haven't actually heard the interview.

ETA: It's a good one! Someone linked to it on TWOP Cosmo Lots of good stuff and teasing about Cale's Mr. Arkansas Cosmo thing.

Hi guys. I know I haven't posted in ages, but my life has been utterly crazy busy these days and I've had next to no spare time. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know, missaddicted, that I saw David Cook in concert at Casino Rama in Orillia the other night. He put on a great high-energy show and I'm so glad I made the long (almost 2-hour) trip from Toronto to see him. The guy is still as humble as ever and just emanates genuineness. Also, after such a long, long, protracted tour, you would think that his voice would be worn out, but he sounded awesome. I'm sure I had a silly smile on my face the whole time.:p

Casino Rama is a large, cavernous venue that holds almost 5000 people. I was really concerned for David that he wouldn't get a respectable crowd and the place would feel empty -- especially on a Monday night, up north in the middle of nowhere, and with the age restriction being 19+. I'm so happy to report that my fears were unfounded. He packed the place! Also,as soon as the band came onstage, a huge, spontaneous mosh-pit formed at the front of the stage and people were on their feet for the entire concert. While I would have preferred to see him perform in a warmer, more intimate-feeling venue (such as Toronto's Massey Hall), the packed house really helped heat the place up . I also saw big crowds at the merchandise table. So, good for David! Incidentally, I thought his lead guitarist, Neil, was awesome.

I'll be back to post my thoughts on both Kris's and Adam's CDs when I have a chance to really listen to them through a few times. It sure seems like Kris is getting lots of fabulous promotion this week!

Awesome, Jemma! Thanks for your review. I knew you would enjoy the show! And I know the "silly smile on your face" feeling, definitely sounds familiar, LOL!

Trying to listen to the cellcast of tonight's show, expecting surprises! David promised! Supposedly, he's doing the whole album in order of the songs, should be interesting! I can't seem to get into the cellcast though...
