Eek! Okay I haven't had a chance to look at the videos yet - will do that tomorrow.

I had to wait up to see this though...

Entertainment Weekly's PopWatch Blog | PopWatch | EW.com
But watch this when you have a chance - Kris and Michael Sleazak in Albany - seriously awesome interview. Kris talks about reviews.. lol "blah ti blah di blah".

Michael and Jim --- FTW. I love their interviews with Kris since Kris is very comfortable with them.. and now I must go to bed. lol

Just before I go though.. um background singer? I mentioned him before. He was in the MFB video and is seriously HOT - yep I noticed him alright - lol. I am also following him on twitter. He's very concerned about salmon strangely enough. lol Still hot.

Aw, the girls were so excited Ross. That was cute.

Did you watch Megan's EW interview? I have to say I think I really like the real Megan Joy. Why did we never see that person on TV? Boggles the mind. 19 has to step back away from Megan, leave Megan's image to Megan - because Megan does a much better job.

I haven't seen Megan. I'll check out Megan. What about Danny? Wasn't there a Danny interview, also?

But first:

They left Wolfgang in Albany?

But...but I want to see... Wolfgang lobster fishing in Portland, Maine. I want to see him driving the tour bus. I want to see Wolfgang onstage with Matt, Scott, Michael, and Anoop, in a tuxedo, singing Beggin'.

Guess not.

Q: Did you see the Rolling Stone pix of Adam and Kris in NYC (on mj's blog)?

Q: What's the background singer's name? The h:sunny:t background singer.

Q: have you seen Part Four of Kris's LA Times interview? He talks about his album. Somebody linked to it, now I can't find it. I got the impression he is such a perfectionist maybe he hasn't even really decided on the style he's going for, yet.

Since he and Joe King supposedly created a great tune, and ditto Mat Kearney, I was kind of surprised that he's not sure if anything he's written will be on the album. Or did I read that part wrong? I suppose ultimately it's not up to him. :(

He also mentioned he's trying for a sound nobody's heard for a long time, or maybe nobody's heard, ever. That's kind of scary. 8O Just saying.

I have a bit of catching up to do (but I saw the interview with Slezak and the Rolling Stones pictures), but this:

He also mentioned he's trying for a sound nobody's heard for a long time, or maybe nobody's heard, ever. That's kind of scary. Just saying.

He really said that? That's... weird?

I'm still at work... on a Friday... at 8 pm. Depressing?

Idol Tracker | Kris Allen: The ultimate interview, Part Four | Los Angeles Times

And now you’re working on your first album for a major label. What is your vision for this debut release?

I think the vision that I have for the first album is so hard to put into words. I know that it’s going to be music that people like and something that is hopefully different than maybe people have heard in a while or maybe ever. I hope that it’s something that grabs people lyrically-wise, subject matter and even musically as well, but something that’s different from what people are doing right now.

Are you writing songs for the album?

I pushed for that. I wanted to be part of the writing process. I don’t know if I can. There’s so much going on right now with the tour and all that. But yeah, we’ve done a lot of co-writing sessions and it’s been an experience because you learn from people who have been writing songs for a long time.

Are you happy with how it's going so far?

The first session I had went well, but the song didn’t end up as something I wanted to do on the album. I was intimidated, so I didn’t put my two cents in as much as I should have, and then the next one went really well and I got more comfortable. Same thing with the song though. Closer to what I wanted, but not completely there. And then I was with somebody yesterday and it was weird, but it went really well and I think it’s getting there. I really do. I’m excited.

Maybe this interview took place a while ago?

Seems a little cruel, eh? lol Poor little defenseless clay skunk. I wonder where he was dropped off. That little skunk could've raised a mint on ebay, just sayin'

Q: Did you see the Rolling Stone pix of Adam and Kris in NYC (on mj's blog)?
Yep, Wow. RS really has an Adam jones, don't they? It's nice to see Kris sneaking into the frame occaisonally though. lol. Might have been nice if they'd mentioned the others occaisionally.

Q: What's the background singer's name? The h:sunny:t background singer.
Hot Background singer is Antonio Sol. And his twitter is
antonio sol (antoniosol) on Twitter defender of the Salmon. I didn't even know there were Salmon in Lake Ontario to be defended.

Since he and Joe King supposedly created a great tune, and ditto Mat Kearney, I was kind of surprised that he's not sure if anything he's written will be on the album. Or did I read that part wrong? I suppose ultimately it's not up to him.
Yeah 19/Jive will have a big say in it for sure, but then the labels always do. I think right now though they are just writing as much as possible and then when they get to LA after the tour they will assemble the album from the pool of songs they have available. Didn't he say he wanted to work with one producer? I don't know if this happened or not - but the producer would help determine the sound of the album.

This isn't that different from any other artist though - If you think about songs that get written - say Kelly Clarkson for example she has several songs that Katy Perry wrote on her album, she had a song that Avril Lavigne was working on another album. Songs that go through the labels might end up with a number of different people. Fefe Dobson is another singer that has songs that she wrote being recorded by Miley Cyrus. Sometimes they just write songs that don't work for them, but would work for other artists.

and that makes me nervous.

He also mentioned he's trying for a sound nobody's heard for a long time, or maybe nobody's heard, ever. That's kind of scary. Just saying.
Yeah, totally agree with this one. SCARY. Kinda worried about that sound.
He really said that? That's... weird?
Doesn't really sound like him, does it?

Maybe this interview took place a while ago?
It absolutely did. I can't remember the time frame - but they did a four part with Adam too - that was done around the same time. They were still on the west coast leg of the tour.

I'm still at work... on a Friday... at 8 pm. Depressing?
Very depressing. :-(

So let's see the roll call of people Kris has been working with (spotted with)

Salemi Remi - maybe didn't work out
Claude Kelly - maybe didn't work out (my guesses anyway) Claude did say this though "In the studio with the American Idol, Kris Allen.this guy is effin awesome! Are there any Kris fans out there?? Come say hi!"
David Hodges - they've talked about pizza publicly.. possibly a good result.
Joe King "King says "Where I saw Kris shine was when he got in the vocal booth and he was just coming up with amazing melodic ideas..." (sounds promising)
Mat Kearney (tweet humour.. also sounds like a good result)
Chris Daughtry (in some fashion - mutal love there)
he was hanging out with Ryan Cabrera Yfrog - g3wu - Uploaded by ryan_cabrera
Dan Omelio - "going in on a track for Kris Allen then a session for Westlife/Jesse McCartey with Denny and B Lo case you aint know soooooo." Kris might have called this the hot diggity.
Lindy Robbins
Toby Gad

Mike Elizondo (spelling?? I don't know the last name really - but the guy in the photo with Chris Daughtry)

oh, and some other guy lately for next week. (Alex Band)

Yeah, I'm not invested at all.. lol

By the way, I loved what Kris told Slezak about the reviews.

Okay, I can make a new post - lol.

So Toby and Lindy write together? I really liked their song Untouched that the Veronica's recorded. Don't know how Kris would do with that sound though... perplexed. (I still feel annoyed by Jordan - although I kind of like her music now, when she was on Idol.. I found her annoying.. things are looking up between us Jordan)

Mike Elizondo.. would like to see this as a reality too.

Dan Omelio tweeted about the song Gone "I feel you! yo Kara's asst. loved Gone for Kris Allen. Trying to push it..." Don't know what happened there.

blah de blah de blah is an awesome gif. LMAO.

Fefe is singer - kind of rockier pop. Maybe the direction they are going with Allison

Oh, no problem, Jordin Sparks annoys me a lot. Feel free to let her annoy you, too. Don't give in so easily.

So, Adam said his fans smell! Nice one, Glittery.

Did you see that pretty offensive recap, by someone who is even more offensive in the comments? From Philadelphia. Take a peek if you haven't. What is sad is that some of the people who say they're offended are really just pissed he didn't like Adam the best! I've seen some of these people comment on other recaps that are downright insulting to Kris, or Danny, and write stuff like, "Great recap! Thanks! I agree with all you wrote!" As long as the recap praises Adam. Hilarious.

ETA: I was in a deli getting some food today and talking about the Idols tour with the owner. A friend of his works in the Garden serving beer.

"My friend said the guy who didn't win had the best voice."

"Oh, yeah?"

"Yeah, the one who, I don't know, he lost his wife? That guy. My friend thought he was the best singer there."

At least it wasn't Adam! Haha! Am I invested? Nope.

You're right - she's still annoying. Her album is good though - gives me hope for Jive and Kris. So on that account I will give her a pass.
So, Adam said his fans smell! Nice one, Glittery.

Okay, that seriously cracked me up. Adam just blurts it all out there doesn't he? Perhaps a little discretion is in order Adam. I mean I wouldn't be too excited about hysterical, smelly people either, but you don't have to tell the media while still on tour. And I don't get the blow up kangeroo. AT ALL. .. "Gee, what Adam needs on tour is a giant blow up kangeroo." Sure.

Yeah I did - he was a bit rough on them - the NY Times of Blog reviews. I do like seeing diverse opinions pop up though and it was good to see someone championing Allison. The comments always kill me - I find them as entertaining as the reviews.

Maybe an Australian sent him the kangaroo.

Hey, I just read the recap by Elizabeth. Another good one for Kris. The Northeast seems to be a sort of turning point. Maybe. But why do people keep calling Kris "tiny"? Or "wee"? He's 5' 7". That's really not all that short. It's only 3 and 1/2 inches shorter than me, and I'm not considered short. I have a friend who's 5' 7". He's not tiny. Not tall, but not tiny.

About Adam: My thought is, Jacob could probably get away with a line like that. Maybe because he's just 'crazy Jacob', on or offstage. People don't expect him to be overly polite or respectful. Adam is snarky, but AI never presented him that way. And he has his polite, helpful 'interview personality', which is a professional persona, I think. So then he says certain things and people are surprised.

Thanks for reassuring me. The quotes that ross posted totally scared me and I've been kind of obsessed with them since I left work (at 9:30 no less), not knowing what to think about them.

Thanks also for the list of collaborators SleepinIn. It's getting impressive.

oh, and some other guy lately for next week. (Alex Band)

A guy from Alex Band? It's funny because David Cook's bassist who left (Joey Clement) used to play with (be part of?) the Alex Band. Joey is now touring with Disney Princess Selena Gomez. Not that I know who that is, but going from playing in a rock band to playing for Selena Gomez kind of sounds like a downgrade. I still wonder what happened there...

So Toby and Lindy write together? I really liked their song Untouched that the Veronica's recorded. Don't know how Kris would do with that sound though... perplexed.

Kris is working with them? Now I'm scared again. I liked Untouched for a total of 2 seconds before starting to dispise it. It's great that you like the song, but it's absolutely the kind of disposable music that I don't want Kris to make. I can't say I'm a fan of Jordin Sparks' music either.

So, Adam said his fans smell! Nice one, Glittery.

Yeah, good job Adam. I don't know how his Glamberts reacted but he should learn to keep his mouth shut sometimes. Your sweaty, smelly, touchy-feely fanatics can carry you a long way. They may not be pleasant right now, but they're still going to bring you a lot of money when they go to 50 shows of your tour next year.

Sorry, feeling a little angsty here, the last two days have been a bit exhausting!

Ha! We're the same height. And as a girl, I'm considered really tall. And let me tell you that, yes for me, Kris is tiny. Not a lot of guys are smaller than 5' 7''. I could never date a guy that is 5' 7''!

Oh, gee, sorry. Don't worry about Kris. I'm not worried about him. You know Kris by now. He said in the interview he was intimidated at first. He may still be, at times, or overwhelmed, but he won't put his name on junk. If he did it, it would be a first. Yeah, he's over a barrel, contractually, but I have a feeling he'd be resistent to persuasion. Not that he's so tough, but I think he's constitutionally unable to be untrue to himself for long.

Too bad you had a rough couple of days. Can you relax this weekend, anyway?

Alex Band - I think his name is actually Alex Band, but yes it's the same Band that David Cook's guitarist was in the Alex Band.. sounds so funny - but yes - same person. lol

I don't know what the Kris /Toby / Lindy composition would sound like at all - and I agree I don't see Kris singing anything like Untouched. Although it would be sort of amusing. Just not for the album. My music tastes go from cheesy pop to hard rock, to folk, to dance and electronica so I'm really all over the map I don't mind the Jordan/Veronicas pop sound - but I agree so not for Kris. Although if it's a good song.. I would listen :) I can be won over.

Kris at 5'7 sounds really tall to me - lol - well not really tall - but a lot taller than me at 5'3.

Sorry, feeling a little angsty here, the last two days have been a bit exhausting!

If you can't angst here - then where? It's all gonna shake out just fine - no worries. Hope you get a chance to relax this weekend.

This is funny - Kris is signing stuff for fans and they start chanting for Adam - Kris stops and starts clapping along.. and then they start chanting for him.. lol Kris has a sly grin too.

So, we're the same height? That's awesome. You could probably beat me up. I'd better remember to be nice to you.

Onstage, Kris looks a bit small, but not tiny. He happens to be in a show with a lot of fairly tall guys, but it's not anything you really notice in the finale, when they're all onstage. He has this confidence that radiates from him. It doesn't necessarily make him seem tall, but it makes you forget he isn't. Plus he moves well, he's graceful, and why that helps, I don't know, but it does. I notice the comments about his height are usually when he's offstage. Maybe from people who are tall! I don't know.

Kris is awesome. Zen, right there.

See the guy with the beard? He was running the meet and greet, in Boston. He looked very familiar to me -- maybe I had seen him on YouTube?

Have you guys seen Katy Allen's twitter account? I just looked at my list of people I follow, and there she was. I forgot I was following her. It's just twitpics. (Maybe she has another account that's more active.)

Really? I didn't know. And he named his band "Alex Band"? Confusing!

Heh. LOL. Indeed! And yes, definitely going to relax this weekend!

LOL! Nice idea you have of me there ross! Let me reassure you, I only beat people up on Thursdays. Just don't cross my path on a Thursday and we'll be fine.

Just kidding, of course.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about Kris' height. I just want good music to go with the pretty voice. It's all I'm asking for.

Haha. *marks calendar* :)

I get your point, both of you, height is a relative thing. Maybe the women calling Kris "tiny" are quite a bit taller than he is.

Lil is the one who really looks tiny, onstage. I guess Allison does, too, but on TV she looked small and Lil didn't. Anoop is tall, and thin. Adam looks tall, but mostly what you think is: large. He has a large head, for example, and his frame is big. He's physically imposing. Danny is smaller, and he seems better built. His act is what Simon called Kris, though: a bit wet. He has this very strong stage presence, though. It's easy to see what they saw in him at first. His voice is good but not thrilling, somehow. It sounds just like on TV.

In many ways it was interesting to see these people from fairly close up. Scott is thin, but not wiry like Anoop. Much less athletic-looking. There was something 'too thin' about him, I thought. Sarver is sort of like a linebacker (His voice was way better than on TV, where he seemed nervous. Live, really impressive.) And Matt has a small pot belly! Matt really moves the best of the four guys, in the Act One group number. But you suspected that, already, right?

In his own set, he lays the charm on a bit thick. And seems to play to the ladies less than the men. This is just the feeling I got from him onstage. He was a really good entertainer, though. I would go to see him, if he was in concert. He also has this kind of "please like me" insecure quality that I thought You Found Me brought out to great advantage.

Which reminds me--ever notice how in Kris's interviews he's always asking people not to hate him? Saying stuff like: "You hate me." To Jim Cantiello, Lindsay Parker, or Slezak. "You hate me now, don't you?" Or, "I don't want you to hate me." It's weird.
