Have any of you posted this video of Bright Lights? Both the sound and video are great. Kris makes a funny face around 2:02.

YouTube - Bright Lights - Kris Allen - Nassau

I think it was from one of the last few shows, wherever is Nassau Coliseum anyway!

I found it on the channel of a girl who's been to at least 30 shows of David Cook's tour, which I find totally absurd, but she has some of the best videos, including a lot of David's banter and Neal's guitar solos, so I check her channel quite often!

missadicted, that was a great video. Something I'm starting to notice is how his vocal doesn't change much, from concert to concert. But he puts so much spontaneous emotion and energy into it. That says to me he has good technique, because that's what it's all about. Being able to repeat a performance technically, but still keeping it alive and fresh. Complete with funny faces. ;-)

Then the guitar solo, where he has to keep it within that framework, but he can improvise some. I like to see how it changes. This one was smokin'. I don't know a lot about guitar, but at least it looks to me like he's killing that solo.

Nassau Coliseum is on Long Island. Uniondale. Long Island has two counties, Nassau (nearer the city) and Suffolk (where the Hamptons are located). The NY Islanders play at the Coliseum. Geography lesson, again!

I wasn't into the AusIdol Mad World. I don't know why. I think I just liked Adam's version of a song that I was already crazy for - it was hard enough to think about Adam singing it - maybe I'm not ready for someone else besides Gary Jules and Adam to sing it that way.

That Bright Lights was really good. And yep killer guitar solo. (although what do I know either.. it looks good to me though) Kris is really getting into the guitar solo now.. and the Hamilton version of ATTID was really good.

Did you guys see the bubbletweet with Matt and Kris? So funny. I sort of felt bad for Matt when he said that there were 20,000 people outside and 26 were for him. Cheer loudly for Matt at your concert Ross. Hell, cheer loudly for them all.

I had to laugh at one of the comments at MJ's regarding Kris being the "tour wh***". Since he's in every bromance. Kradam, Kradison, Krallison, Kratt, Kranoop, etc. It's a weird thing isn't it? Because he is. (not a wh*** - lol) but yeah, hard to not love Kris.

The guitar solo did look killer in that video - I need Kris to have a band to interact with when he releases his album.

Geography lesson, again!
we learn and we grow. lol

LOL! And thanks. Yeah, Long Island was my first guess. I almost wrote that the video was filmed in "Hawaii".

Just saw Matt's bubbletweet. So funny. "Kris is so dreamy". And pretty good French Matt G!

By mistake, I also clicked on a fan recap on MJ. I read a bit of it. It's a 14 year-old girl who thinks that Kris should have been runner-up because he wouldn't have to have his feelings hurt (because Adam gets more screems than he does). Yeah, I'm sure Kris gets his feelings hurt when thousand of people are screaming for him...

What I liked about this version was: I could understand what the song was about. I didn't, before. And what that judge said: singing is telling a story. I just think that's a good way to look at it.

LOL! And thanks. Yeah, Long Island was my first guess. I almost wrote that the video was filmed in "Hawaii".

Haha. That Hawaii stuff was weird/stupid/funny.

Ha! I read that and I immediately emailed mj and told her I want to do a recap!
I've had it with this sh_t.

Okay, bear with me, here, because I have to say something you probably won't love to hear. I've been deciding I don't find Adam very sincere. Are you shocked? Probably not, I don't know.

I remember when he said he was only in musicals to make a living. What he really wanted more than anything is to be a recording artist. (He said it when he was competing to be a recording artist.) Now, though, he says that after he's done recording, he wants to focus on acting in films. Because after all, he's an actor, he's been acting in shows for years. I could give you, like, ten examples of this stuff. Like when he originally got the Ford hybrid, he made a speech along the lines of "I think it's so important to protect the environment," etc. But then he turned around and got the Mustang, later.

Just sayin.'

Don't hate.

Okay, whatever.

He is a wh***! A dirty, filthy wh***!!! I always knew it. No one could be that good.

It's true, though. There's no Dadam, or Adatt. Or Allisoop.

Where was I? Hm, That 14 year old's recap. Yeah, that one was annoying. There was a woman last week who said Kris was great, etc., but then in the last line she said something like: "...and no worries, because if Kris is ever hard up for work, I'm sure Adam would let Kris open for him."

So since I'm going to do a recap, you guys are welcome to contribute. You must have a few observations that you could let me steal.

I think there's only Adison and Granny outside the influence of Kris. It's a strange phenomenon. lol.

I'm tired of the subtle (or not so subtle) Kris diss. But, I gotta say I think it was really interesting watching the Alexa Chung show when Kris mentioned Adam.. there was like dead silence. *crickets* It shows that outside the AI bubble AI is big but not everyone is paying attention to every detail of the show or the singers. Kris being the winner does carry it's own weight.

Good! I'm selfishly glad you are going to recap - I think you should just go into it with an open mind - don't let the twitts and twats and youtubes influence your enjoyment of the concert. Let yourself enjoy the show without putting too much internet baggage on it. If you don't enjoy Adam, then you don't enjoy Adam (and that goes for whoever else too) just remember when you don't like to hear unfair stuff recapped on Kris that others feel the same way. If you are fair to them all then everyone understands where you're coming from. Everyone does have a right to their opinion after all.

But like don't pick on Kris.. or I will have to hurt you.. :)

Wow, how ridiculous. Or delusional, I'm not sure which.

Well said. I agree... especially with the "I will have to hurt you" part!!

Hey, I've been wanting to say for a while, just putting it out there: We're having a great party of three here, but I'm sure we'd be happy to have others join, no? But lurking is fine too, so no pressure!

I forgot about Manoop.. there are two Manoops out there. They'll have to duel it out.

This is a really cute, relaxed interview

YouTube - American Idol 09 Interviews

I love that when the interviewer asks about Adam not coming for press (in a nice way), Kris asks "what we're not good enough for you?" LOL

I'm sure we'd be happy to have others join, no? But lurking is fine too, so no pressure!

What she said. :)

Oh, and I can't wait to see if any of the MTV canada shows have any interviews tomorrow. Since both Anoop and Matt are both following Jessi of the Aftershow and Matt is following Paul of MTV Live. So I will be bitterly disappointed if they don't have anything to say... lol. Just putting it out there MTV.

It's a funny thing with the Kris diss. A lot of people are still just really sore he won. There was a lot of disrespectful dissing of Kris on mj tonight. Not that bad, but I'm sensitive to it. His facial expressions. Comparing him to a monkey. Whatever. Soreheads. They wouldn't care about him if he wasn't good, or popular.

That Alexa Chung thing was great. Yeah, Kris won American Idol, he was on Leno, Ellen, Kimmel, etc. This is what people pay attention to. That radio station I listen to plays Kris's Heartless. But if he hadn't won, I doubt they would.

Oh, yeah, I'll be fair. I don't want to diss people, I want to talk a little about why Kris is good, that's all. What made me interested in doing this at all is that at least two people recapping the Boston show are huge Adam fans. They probably like Kris, too, but I wanted a recap of that show to be from a Kris fan. Not me, particularly, but it looks like I'm it.

But like don't pick on Kris.. or I will have to hurt you..

LOL! Okay. No pick. No pick on da Kris.

Okay, it was someone I happened to be following on twitter.

Wow, I just noticed Kris has about 82,760 followers. Brian Melo has 28.

Now that's just not right.

That's a great interview with Kris - he's so honest, (I need the other 3 parts). Do you think he's a little too honest? Don't tell people you aren't that good Kris - they might actually believe you! Although I don't think I want him to change any.

MTV DID show some Hamilton footage. MTV Live's bit was them being asked stupid questions which given the show was not altogether much of a surprise. (they were following humping vomiting dogs, just sayin') It was funny though - they all looked really puzzled and also like they wanted to flee. Then Jessi's on the Aftershow was really funny it was almost all about Anoop. I think they might play more of it later this week with the rest of them, but what they did show was hilarious. Jessi found out that she wouldn't be talking to Anoop because he wasn't doing press in Hamilton so she said she would ask the rest of them about Anoop. Anoop walked by and they called him over for her.. it was really cute. Can you watch MTV ca? Probably not right? I'll try to tape it for you if it doesn't show up. Kris and Danny hooked her up with Anoop - so cute.

OH!! And Etalk had Adam news. Apparently he is working with one of my favourite singers Gerald Eaton (aka Jarvis Church - or whatever he's calling himself these days) He was on talking about writing 4 songs with or for Adam don't know which one. He's the lead singer of the band the Philosopher Kings and produced one of Nelly Furtado's albums. What is it about Adam and the people that he's working with? blabbity, blabbity, blabb. They are not at all secretive. lol

This is one of his latest songs - so who knows what direction Adam's album is heading in...??? I'd love to hook Kris up with Jarvis's bandmate Jon Levine who I think is a fantastic writer. :)

That meet and greet thing was fun!

I don't remember him saying that. What part do you mean? Or do you mean his self-deprecating attitude?

I just read the comments right now. Most are positive and I especially liked this one because it was so unusual:

Great interview, I can't wait for the other parts. Based on all the attention that Kris gets across the web from those who claim not to like him, I think he should be flattered. He must be doing something right for them to be upset enough to scour the internet and comment on every article that is written about him. The man is very popular.

Well, tomorrow is the concert. I had decided to go in in the afternoon and do the buses, but, damn, now it's supposed to be in the mid-90's to 100 degrees. (@35 to 38, to you guys.) I can't see hanging out all day in the city when the weather is like that. I'm trying to figure out something indoors that I could do between the buses and the concert, but there isn't a lot. I had planned on hanging out on the Esplanade (a park on the Charles River), but that's out, now.

Did you hear Hedley's new song? I think it's going to be a big hit - but I'm not sure that I like it though - it's very Stereos and autotune-y dancy.

Hey, did you see my post on TWoP/CI? I had a feeling Hedley's tune would be like that! Faber Drive's new single is, too (there a link to it over there). I haven't listened to Hedley yet...be right back...

ETA: I haven't listened to Hedley's new song yet, but did you happen to read my post on TWoP/CI? I had a feeling the song was going to be dancey-autotuney (from the title, I guess). Faber Drive just released a single that's like that. So I kind of guessed. What do you think is going on??

Okay, I listened to it and my first impression is not positive. I actually liked FD's single way better.

G-Get Up And Dance

This is the first time I ever remember needing to turn off a Hedley song before it was over!

Yeah that. :) Accept your awesome-ness Kris.

Ha, that's true. A lot of energy goes into dissing Kris so diligently. lol

It's going to be so hot - yikes. Where is that darn rain that was ruining our lives for the entire summer. So you're not going to hit up the buses? I don't think I would - it's just not my thing - but it would be neat to see them. I would be a little nervous of the crazy.

I know what you mean about the Hedley song.. I don't think I like it either. It's so different. But I do think it will be a hit - Stereo's is another group with a similiar type song that is on the charts at the moment. And doing very well.
