By the way, those people at the Kansas City concert. In that clip. They were so...Midwestern. Even the news people. They looked so corn-fed and aw-shucks. And they dressed bad.

They were pretty endearing. I like seeing the news from anywhere outside the LA/NY powerbase. It's interesting. I wish there was more prespective in media. I guess there is nowadays with time shifting and satellite channels and youtube and all, but still I really only watch Toronto or Buffalo news. It's good to see a wider picture.

Bah, the MFB went to Hooters after the show, bet they're glad they don't have to deal with the barricade madness night after night.

(Jessi cracks me up http://twitpic.com/h1eql)

Matt's having a 10 minute twitter party. He's already got about a million questions.

Actually I thought the LA news was interesting during Idol because we don't see much west coast news. But I was kind of surprised the KC news people looked so homey. It's a pretty big city.

You know what's interesting? Kris often gets big crowd responses in states DialIdol says he won, like Michigan. But ironically the tour never went to many of the states he won. Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Virginia, West Virginia, and Delaware, for example.

By contrast it went to all the states Adam won. There were five concerts in New York, six in California. As well as two in Florida, two in Pennsylvania. He also won all of New England except Vermont, and that's the one N.E. state without a concert (Kris won Vermont).

I went to mj's blog a bit tonight to read about the concert because I couldn't hear it. Mistake. I just read this:

At least it’s not Elvis or Pompadour. Thanks for Small favours.
Perhaps it just needs more fluffing to take the flat, and the bowl, out of it.
What do you think?
More gel to create a somewhat upward moving kinda almost spiky mode? Oooooh like the ones in those really nice Sebring (?) photos?
Actually I just looked at those photos and flat, bowl hair is really sexy photo hair but without gel to create a spiky, upward movement on the very top of the head. TA DA There’s hope.

"Favours." Canadian?

This followed a discussion of why Adam was wearing green instead of blue eye shadow. I can't believe this interests anybody. What am I missing? Anyway, is it true what people say? Next year most of these people will have a new idol to obsess over and forget all about Adam?

I'm pretty sure the tour dates were chosen way before Kris won though. I don't think everything is a conspiracy!

LOL at the discussion about Adam's hair!

David Cook is from KC ross, and there's nothing unsophisticated about him or his family...

LOL. No, I doubt it's a conspiracy! Besides, all the conspiracies happen in Arkansas and they all favor Kris.

Just saying Kris didn't get to play in some of the regions where he got the most votes, while Adam did, so maybe that affected the "applause meter."
I thought it was a pretty interesting theory. Naturally, since I thought it up myself. :-|

Hm, is it getting a little chilly in here, or is it just me? Brrr...I was just talking about the few people they showed, concertgoers and news people. Not the whole state of Missouri.

Hey, did you see that movie poster for 2012? Adam got special billing on the poster for singing that song on the soundtrack. Wow. That's pretty unusual. I wonder who works all that out? 19E, or his agent, or RCA, or who/what? Anyhow, congrats to him. Those songs with movie tie-ins are often guaranteed hits. And of course, potential Oscar nominees.

I meant to mention: the guy I spoke to when I called the radio station was the DJ, "Halloran," not Karson. I was listening to the show later. I don't know who that is. Oh, and I tried calling twice for tickets to that thing today. My boss said I'm becoming a "groupie." :-? (I was listening at work. Nice thing is, you don't have to listen all day long. They tell you when they'll be doing it the next time.)

Sorry, I guess this statement kind of rubbed me the wrong way:

Equating midwestern with being aw-shucks and badly dressed...

Moving on, it doesn't matter.

You're right, that was dumb. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

"And they were badly dressed." was actually supposed to be a separate comment, though. Unrelated to their being from the midwest. I just thought they were badly dressed for TV personalities. I guess it doesn't read that way.

It's about the Aztek's (or Mayas'?) prediction that the world would end in 2012. It's definitely an end of the world movie with everything collapsing, the ocean engulfing everything. I saw the preview and I can't say I'll run to go see it. Maybe with friends to laugh a bit!

Single in two weeks! YAY! I can't wait to hear it!

His album, now scheduled out Nov. 17, will be “soft rock, with a little singer-songwriter thing in it, but not too much,” he says. “It’s difficult to explain, but it’s cool. You’ll just have to listen."

Why is it difficult to explain, I don't understand!

I'm happy about the "organic feel" though!

Cook had another twitter party a few minutes ago. I guess he liked the experience yesterday.

It's fun, a few of the other idols from Season 7 are going to be at his show tonight in LA: Brooke, Jason, Carly and Michael. A great family reunion!

Two weeks, two weeks, two weeks! I'm excited too!! *bounce, bounce, bounce*

You know one of the best parts of twitter this year is the interaction between the idols - and I know it's all - on the surface - interaction - but it's still fun and shows tiny glimpses of their personalities and relationships with each other.

David and his brother, cracked up me when I was reading their tweets to each other.

I just watched Jessi's Idol piece on MTV, and it's really funny. It's longer than the others were and it's very much focused on Anoop, but she does talk more with Kris and that clip of Kris with the Teen beat is shown again - she told Anoop that she bought Teen Beat to look for his picture but could only find Kris so she asked Anoop to sign Kris's picture and that's when Anoop said that he's signed a lot of Kris's pictures and then he said he'd sign the first picture of the two of them together. She also told Anoop that she fell for him after watching him sing Beat it - LOL - he then said that she was the only person who'd ever said that to him. lmao. She meant it though, they showed a lot of her clips during the season - yep, she loved Anoop. I'm glad Anoop got fan girl Jessi. It was sweet, and hilarious.

So, apparently, Ellen will be replacing Paula as the 4th judge? Opinions? I really really really like her and she's a huge Idol fan, but is it OK for her to judge a singing competition?

I really, really like Ellen too.. but I hope she doesn't judge Idol like she judged So You Think You Can Dance. She was hilarious on that (but really unfocused on judging), I actually do need more focus on judging the singing - I want them to get competent advice. I know Paula wasn't that focused either. But she actually was a singer. How are they going to get the thing done in an hour or two? It's going to be all talk from the judges.

I like Ellen okay but I'm not a huge fan. I think she's more likeable than funny. She sort of strains for laughs at times. But mainly I think she's wrong for Idol.

Funny, the first thing I thought was: "Her favorite was Adam." And this actually bothered me because it just means to me: four judges who all think the same. Or who aren't open to the Kris type, let's say. Which isn't surprising on this show. I mean, the guest judges so far haven't been Colbie Caillat or Jason Mraz, exactly.

Other than that, I don't know, she's just too big a personality to sort of disappear and let the kids be the stars. The others (even Simon) aren't really "star" personalities who seem to need to be in the spotlight a lot.

The only thing that would be good is if she really does challenge Simon in any intellignt way or oppose him and make sense (unlike Paula).
