Kris fits in with a lot of crowds. And he can sing a lot of different types of music - without changing his style in any way. This is an amazing person in the music world, I'm convinced. I think it's just a matter of convincing Kris.

I'm gonna imagine lots and lots of screaming

I hope so. If I was a musician, that's what I'd want. Lots and lots of screaming. I don't think that gets old.

OMG, who are these tots? Burnham? They're almost young enough to be Kris's ...well, Danny's children, anyhow.

Okay, I'm a little pissed because the publicity blurb for Kris is still that same one that is almost one year old. Other sites have also used this. WHAT is up with that? Someone can't sit down and write a new bio that would take all of about 30 minutes?

Great review from the OC Register:

Barenaked Ladies carry on valiantly at the Greek - Entertainment - The Orange County Register

Things went completely ka-boom on MJ's and Top Idol today, by the way.

Photo from Justin Gaston who's there at Kris's concert:

Aw, Justin came to the concert? That makes me love him a little. The Burnham tots.. really are tots.

and seriously the publicity blurb is ridiculous. Who's in charge of that?? Surprisingly Kris's myspace is pretty up to date. Too bad no one uses Myspace that much anymore.

What happened at MJ's ? I read a bit of the news thread - was it the twitter followers thing? Or something else?

Off to read the review...

that could be my favourite review to date. :)

Just go over to Top Idol and look at Idol Quickies for July 16th. Ignore my long post to MJ or read it later. It was written after the fracas died down.

Basically deez went over to MJ's and posted a parody of a "concern troll" post. It was quite funny, but she's a troublemaker (though not a serious one). MJ got mad at that and some of the talk about her blog on TI. Then she argued with people on TI, some of whom don't like her.

The fact is, I think it cleared the air. Maybe. A lot of people have been venting on TI about the problems with the nasty Glamberts at MJ's, and I think they did it because they knew it would get back to her, or she would read it. So it's probably good that they all had it out. I don't know.

As people have said, here, it's MJ's blog and she can do what she wants. However, her blog does depend on her readers/posters, so in my opinion it's not good that so many are unhappy. I think she ought to listen to them.

Brian Mansfield interview with Kris:

Kris Allen plays acoustic flood-relief benefit in Nashville - Idol Chatter: American Idol News, Rumors, & Information

Okay, he's young, I get it! :) That wasn't who I had in mind when I ... oh, never mind. Ha!

I do see a method to the madness when Kris is playing such really cool venues as Red Rocks and The Greek Theatre with BNL. It gives him a certain stature. It does present him as a kind of established artist, rather than a mere newcomer. It's prestigious. As a matter of fact so was the show in Worcester at Mechanics Hall. Some of the tweets as well as that one horrendous review made me wonder about the wisdom of that part of the tour. But the review tonight changed my mind, I guess. I mean, if Kris had not played that LA gig, he would not have gotten such a review. So I guess, at the moment, at least, it's all good. :p

By the way, that was the Orange County paper, but I wonder what the LA papers will have to say?

Here's a newer version of the review with an updated headline that includes Kris.

Yeah, it does look really nice.

Steve Luna tweeted that he was going to be playing with the band too. Should be a really fun show.

That sounds like quite a show! That would be a show to catch! Wish I was in San Diego right now. Poor girlygirl, not only did she get in an accident but she's missing this epic show. But, yeah, she was very lucky.

The S. A. and his band of clones seem to be doing okay.

I wonder if there's a pic of Steve Luna playing with the band? I saw him in Worcester schlepping equipment onstage.

A little Torres funkiness.

Seriously, he is a sweetheart, also. Great guy. Or so I gathered from hanging with him for all of five minutes.

Hey, that's my line.

Topic for discussion: I'm getting somewhat suspicious of all these sold out Glam Nation concerts, by the way. I mean, I wouldn't be, except that the biggest acts aren't selling out venues, now. Then we hear: "2400 tickets sold out in 8 minutes." Let's just say 800 or 1000 people (assuming some are buying two and some four) buy all those tickets in 8 minutes. Really? Every person knew about the concert and was just sitting there on their computer waiting for the tickets to go on sale?

Maroon 5 tickets are being offered for a limited time for 10 dollars. Rihanna. Etc. BNL has a loyal fanbase but they don't sell out lately.

Anyone else having these thoughts? I mean Glamberts are so good at multi-buying and gifting of music and poll-spamming I don't see why concerts aren't also in the same vein.

The sell outs.. I think they are legit. A strange anomaly but legit. They're an excitable bunch, with a lot of disposable income.. and all of Adam's fan boards provide a really big online community for his fans.

Concert going is contagious when it's done competitively, and getting together with your friends to experience music that you both love can't be denied either. I'm sure he gets a lot of repeat concert goers.

As to why everyone else in the world is having a tough concert selling summer.. I don't know. Ticket price is definitely part of it, press etc. But I think Adam's fans are extrodinarily organized. They know to the second when and where tickets are going on sale.

First post:

Since we are on this subject, I don't know if you saw this, but here are photos of the audience from yesterday's Glam Nation concert. (Hm. Could this explain why Orianthi is not continuing with the tour?)

Adam Lambert Is Going To Save The Music Industry!1! | Vote for the Worst

Adam Lambert Is Going To Save The Music Industry!1! | Vote for the Worst

Sorry but I had to laugh at this post: "Those pics are beyond sad. What's Adam going to do once all his fans pass away in the next 6-18 months?"

Tell me, SleepinIn, do these pics surprise you?! They surprised me! Do they make you revise your opinion? I'm wondering if some of these older people even have computers. They can't be the ones who sell out venues in eight minutes. Do they look like fanatics? (Well, the some do, around the edges. Adam purse, e. g.)

Hey, I don't make fun of people just because they're old. They have a right to have fun. I'm middle aged so what right have I to talk? It's all a matter of taste. But it's weird Adam attracts this audience. Is this really who 19 and RCA hope to make big money from?

My thoughts.. (such as they are)

The Adam fan demographics don't really surprise me. I know everyone says that Idol's main audience are teens - but they're not really. Don't get me wrong I think they watch, but I think they're also the first to lose interest after the tv show ends.

I'm wondering if some of these older people even have computers.

What are they living in a cave??? ;)

Adam won the crazy fan jackpot during Idol - good in some respects - you sell a lot of everything - but it has it's own problems. There is a contingent that seems to move from year to year with a new person. This year however there was no one to move on to.. so Adam got to keep them in full force.

I'll take a look at the website...

Steven Page tweeted that he was performing first at Mix fest Btw (I still find it funny that Kris will have performed with all the BNL members by the end of the summer - lol)

huh, interesting.

Scott and his parents are at the show tonight.. and so is Fred Bronson.

I wish someone would publish the stats on what age groups watch Idol. They must exist, and it would settle all the debates once and for all. Anyhow, I understand your point, that you're not surprised. I guess I'm not totally surprised, either. But I didn't necessarily expect teens. I have heard Adam attracts older people (and when posters describe him as a "very talented young man," I mean, you can tell they're elderly) - but I guess I was surprised it was in such numbers. Since Kris (my only point of comparison) doesn't attract them, it's not an Idol phenomenon that affects all the idols.

I don't know enough about Idol. But if there had been someone to attract them this season, you really think Adam's crazy fan contingent would have moved on? I tend to doubt it. I think they're his loyal fans for life, or until they all start turning on each other and abandoning the fandom.

Who's Fred Bronson?
