It seems to be the new trend, now, for people on mj's blog to say Matt is the second most talented, next to Adam. (Since Adam must always be the most anything.) I've found it to be another way for some of them to knock Kris.
(I've always felt Kris is the most all-around talented of the group, so to me he's not vying for second against Matt, he's first, anyway.)

For me, (for you) giving Matt credit for improving doesn't take anything away from Kris. Because I agree with you - *surprise* :p Kris was the most talented for me. The most well rounded, and the smartest, the one I liked listening to the most. Did he have the the greatest range? No, I'd give that to Adam then Danny. But, Kris used his voice the best and for me showed a real gift for picking out songs that suited him. Which in my opinion is one of the most important things an artist can do. There are a lot of great singers out there in the wide world, picking the right song can make or break any artist no matter how big.

I'm not sure what it is about Matt, I like him and I think he has potential, I actually like him as a perfomer better than Adam, he's much easier to relate to. But he lacks something, whatever.

I don't like him better than Adam..that's crazy talk. lol. But I do agree, he doesn't really have the spark for me either. But yeah, I do actually like him a lot too.

That Heartless video was good. He's getting looser onstage all the time. I haven't been watching much concert stuff lately, not sure why. Maybe it'll make the actual concert seem fresher if I don't. Though that's not why. I guess there's no real reason.

Maybe it's that plaid shirt. I'm quite sick of it myself. lol.

So, still feeling good about the Mat Kearney and other collaborations? I am.

I am. Especially since Kris clearly felt comfortable enough about it to let a little info slip out for once. I thought that was a good sign. Okay the twitters went wild with the Frothy Monkey sighting and that helped, but clearly he was in a good mood - and I'm excited to see him on GMA this week - and I don't even care if he's 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the line up. It's all good.

What's this about the lineup, anyway? I have read random things about it. Please fill me in.

Without knowing anything about that, I'll just say that since Kris is the current American Idol he should be treated as such.

I don't like him better than Adam..that's crazy talk. lol. But I do agree, he doesn't really have the spark for me either. But yeah, I do actually like him a lot too.

LOL. Well, I've said it before, I don't really dig Adam as a singer or performer. His whole style is not for me. A great voice does not a great singer make. Just my opinion. Don't shoot.

Matt is closer to the style of performer I like, but his voice...well, I think I've said before the voice I like second best is Anoop's. But it's not distinctive. So they both fall short for me.

Take a look at Roseanne Simunovic's blog for assessments of Kris's range. [MasterclassLady.com] (And hey, she's Canadian.) If you go back to the blogs she did during the season, she has some great things to say about Kris's voice, range, and technique. She's a voice coach.

LOL!

I had to watch it three times before understanding what Kris was saying.

Twitter sucks. I won't change my mind about it, no I won't!!

What's this about the lineup, anyway?

I haven't really seen anything about this, but I guess it means that people are arguing who should go 1st, 2nd and 3rd on GMA. Really? Who cares, the three of them will perform anyway, whatever the order. I can't bring myself to angst about this. Both Kris and David (with an Adam bonus) will be on my TV Friday morning, that's all I need to know.

In one of those interviews I linked to, Kris says he'll probably have enough stuff for the album so that it won't have to include any music from the show. This was good news to me where No Boundaries is concerned! I don't know if it means there will be no Heartless single. Still hoping for that...maybe a bonus track.
Because I <3 Heartless.

By the way, SleepinIn, I want to say that I really enjoyed that video of Heartless you posted because I haven't been looking at a lot of tour videos lately. That made it even better. I wasn't in too good a mood, then I looked at that video of Kris and started to smile.

So, guys, I was struck by something in one of the recaps today on mj's blog:

2. I think Kris Allen is great. I think he’s very talented — and extremely likeable. The thing I admire most about him is his seemingly open, sincere friendship with Adam. I am not religious, but I admire the way Kris practices his faith. He’s not in-your-face, and even though he may not agree with Adam’s lifestyle, he sees past that. I enjoyed his performance… and my husband was very impressed. He’s a seriously good musician too. He is obviously very different to Adam, but he has a strong following… and I hope his career is long and successful. Would I pay to see him? Probably not, but I still think he’ll make a great recording artist.

The part I put in italics just struck me as odd. Have you guys ever once thought of Kris as "not agreeing with Adam's lifestyle"?? And "seeing past that?" Not to split hairs, but that is not my idea of how he rolls at all.

So I commented on it, and got a response from someone else who seemed to think Kris thinks that way, also. So I responded again. If you want to see what I wrote it's in the comments under LoveContinuum's recap.

I agree with you there for sure. It doesn't seems to me that Adam's "lifestyle" bothers him at all. Not the way it obviously does Danny for example, even if he does try to get past that.

Hee - I was just teasing, no shooting necessary.

She was pretty interesting. I remember reading her during the show - I'm kind of a musical dunce though - I don't really know why things work or don't work for me just that they do or they don't. It's good to hear an informed opinion like hers sometimes. So the dunce learns something one in awhile. :)

Twitter sucks. I won't change my mind about it, no I won't!!

Ah, I feel nostalgic. I used to feel the same way, and yet now I'm rather addicted to it. (Twitter: where the world talks nonstop in inane chatter and yet manages to say so much). I kinda love Twitter. LMAO. (PLUS - Thank you twitter for bring the bubbletweets.) And Kris tweeted for pizza directions from David Hodges - too funny. Twitter kills me.

What's this about the lineup, anyway?

Yep, I agree. They all get to sing, it's good. I'm happy.

I <3 Heartless too. I want the tour version to complete my set. :) But if they think they have enough material without any AI material - that's really interesting.. kinda excited.

Yeah, Kris is killin' it on tour. I still want another shirt. Hopefully no tour plaid on GMA.

I don't think it bothers Kris at all either for the record. (the lifestyle not the shirt) I don't really know but from all indications he's never given any hint that he's had any problem with it to my mind anyway.

Right, that's what I thought, too. Danny, not Kris.

That bubbletweet last night, alone, says it all! Kris has never had a problem with Adam's sexuality. If people are going to praise him, praise him for that. mj's blog is like going through the looking glass with Alice. Everything is backasswards.

I don't like him better than Adam..that's crazy talk. lol

Yeah, that was pretty funny. It must've gone over my head the first time. :)

Masterclass Lady (aka MCL):

Last year during CI I didn't like her because she didn't like Mookie's singing. :( Seriously? Mookie kicked ass. And Jacob --she wasn't always into him -- I checked out some of her old blogs. I don't know what she's talking about, myself. I have to slog through it. But one thing I remember her saying is Kris had a very good range. And "light, clean" vocals. I really liked that, for some reason. Actually, Kris is probably the only person in the top 10 who could fit the description "light, clean vocals" if you think about it.

Yeah, Kris is killin' it on tour. I still want another shirt. Hopefully no tour plaid on GMA.

Maybe Kris wore plaid on tour because his fans are supposed to be wearing plaid? Or green. Green plaid? But since he's wearing brown, not green, I don't know. What I think is cool is that he's wearing skinny jeans. I think he had skinnies on when he weant out for his birthday, also. For Kris, this is stylin'. Remember how he dressed at his audition? Hey, baby steps.

So what do you think he should be wearing instead of the plaid? I'm curious what your ideas are.

Mookie kicked ass.

Mookie did kick ass. I wish I liked his original songs as much. There's still time though - the guy is young. Maybe his new cd will be something I like - I hope so I really liked him a lot.

And Jacob --she wasn't always into him

Not like Jacob? Egad. That's just wrong. ;)

Kris is probably the only person in the top 10 who could fit the description "light, clean vocals" if you think about it.

That makes sense to me. So it's kind of like reviews - I take what I like out of people's opinions. lol. It works for me. :)

Maybe Kris wore plaid on tour because his fans are supposed to be wearing plaid? Or green. Green plaid? But since he's wearing brown, not green, I don't know.

I actually don't think Kris has any idea that there were supposed to be tour colours. Maybe he does now, but when he was interviewed in AR (or was that AK? lol) they asked him about it and he didn't seem to have a clue about the green, although Kris's parents were into it. I don't think he worries too much about that kind of thing. All the other Idol's were posting their colours on twitter, Kris.. not so much.

So what do you think he should be wearing instead of the plaid? I'm curious what your ideas are.

I think Kris has a really good sense of style actually (even the plaid) I'm just tired of that specific plaid due to watching a ton of youtubed tour videos. Adam called him nonchalant and I think that descibes his style. Kind of casual chic?

I added a picture to my post, above. Let's just say he's improved a little. But, since you asked what I think he should wear (okay, you didn't ask), I think Kris looks good in black. Not for the tour, I just think -- like the time he sang Heartless on the show -- it suits him, generally. Him, and his light, clean vocals.

Dark green or olive green look good on him, too. I have the same coloring or whatever as him, hair, eye, and skin coloring. So I think I've been watching him for that, like, what looks good on him probably would also look good on me. Just not as good. :-?

Hey, do you think Idol ages people? Who's this youngster?

Not like Jacob? Egad. That's just wrong.

I know. It's unpatriotic, almost. Anyhow, it was just some of his singing techniques, I think. She liked Kalan. She also loved Theo. I think she had a lot of issues with Earl. And Mitch. Hey, stop me -- I'm getting nostalgic for CI again.

I actually don't think Kris has any idea that there were supposed to be tour colours. Maybe he does now, but when he was interviewed in AR (or was that AK? lol) they asked him about it and he didn't seem to have a clue about the green, although Kris's parents were into it. You're right. I think he might actually be thinking about music. Ya think?

Maybe he does now, but when he was interviewed in AR (or was that AK? lol)

LOL.

So...they called Paula's bluff, huh? I wasn't really sure until today she was really gone (if she is). I mean, these guest judges they're going with until they find a new fourth judge...could it just be stalling until Paula caves and returns? I hope not. I want some new blood.

Ouch, guys. I have to come clean here and say that I actually have a serious dislike for Jacob's voice. And I very much disliked him when he was on CI. Couldn't wait for him to go home.

I just totally lost all cred I might've had with you too now. Oops!

So what do you think he should be wearing instead of the plaid? I'm curious what your ideas are.

The kind of shirt he wore on Leno the day after he won. THAT was a nice fitting shirt!

Ouch. Way harsh, missaddicted. ;)

I think I already knew you didn't like Jacob. So your cred is safe!

I don't know why I like him. I mean, anyone else who acted like him, I would probably hate. But I think he's awesome. Don't hate.

I've had my moments when I haven't liked him. He can be a jerk. But I always seem to get over it. Sort of a love-hate thing.

Ah, yes, that shirt. I love it. And it's green too!

Hey, yeah! Well, he said green's his favorite color, right? I had added this to my earlier post where I said Kris looks good in black:

Dark green or olive green look good on him, too.

So I guess I was also thinking of that shirt. That reminds me...I wonder if he'll be on Conan's show to make up for the time he missed?

GMA was great! I really enjoyed all three of their performances. Fraumageddon wasn't too bad after all, they all got their high-pitched screaming from the fans!

I wish we would've heard more of Little Lies (David does that Fleetwood Mac cover during some of his shows). But they said they'll be posting a performance by the three of them on their website. Can't wait to see that!

And if Kris has to wear plaid, the shirt he was wearing is perfect. It's really nice. And see, he wasn't the only one wearing plaid! David and his guitar player Neal were wearing it too, LOL!
