Casey.

He sounds like Bob Seger to me tonight. Anyhow, he wasn't great, wasn't bad. At this stage, he should be doing stuff that's winning us over. That wasn't it. It was like a Top 24 performance.

I know (about Big Mike)!! I was like, put Alicia down, stupid!

Heh. Casey did the same thing he always does.

I'm bored with him. Now more than ever.

I agree with Simon that it was a lazy song choice.

Funny how last year when Kris did something like ANS, it seemed like a full song. I guess it was only 90 seconds, but it didn't seem like it was all over in a flash. That's how this season's performances seem, to me. Like, "That was it?"

Lee.

Are they giving the audience free crack before the show? What are they cheering for?

He seemed "connected" but I really don't think he was very good. It's just kind of painful for me to listen to all the off notes. It's one thing to have a raspy voice when you hit the notes, but when you're raspy and off key, it ain't working for me.

This praise is ridiculous. He was at best, good, to very good. Brilliant?

Wow, they're pimping Lee so much. Year of the artists, Randy? Uh, no dawg.

Lee was okay though he sounded a bit whiny, but he was connected to the song. But there's no way he deserved all that pimping.

No, he wasn't brilliant for sure. They're trying anything to salvage this awful season, so they're calling brilliant performances that are merely good.

I liked Lee's version of the Boxer but I don't know if I was excited as the judges (maybe I just like Simon and Garfunkel too much).

Randy had an interesting comment though, This year is all about artist's. I wonder if that's why the show and the singers are floundering so much. They are all artists, and in some ways are more fully formed than the normal Idols as artists and in others they are really, really unformed. It makes for a push and pull and might be why they are sucking so badly. Makes me think.

Okay.. R. Kelly? Really? Is that Aaron? Why Aaron? Why?

on to Tim...

Tim - I think he connected to the song really well, he was believeable and I can actually see him doing this type of music. But that was not in tune, and it hurt me. LOL

Aaron - I agree with Simon. I liked the end too.
(he does have a strong voice, I just think I don't like it) ;)

SleepinIn, sorry, this confused me a little.

Tim...

I think a good thing to do is to listen to this stuff but not watch. I was mostly in the kitchen for Lee and in the kitchen the whole time for Tim. But the kitchen is 15 feet from the TV. I can hear, just wasn't watching. Listening to Tim, that was basically the performance of someone who's trying, being sincere, doing his best, but just has no particular voice.

Really? I don't know, I haven't seen all the seasons, but I think Daughtry, Blake, Cook, Brooke, Castro, Kris, Adam and others would be pissed by that comment. I just completely disagreed with Randy's comment. Performing in a bar doesn't an artist make. Aaron and Tim are clearly not artists. Siobhan doesn't know who she is. The four others are competent bar singers.

Timmy was meh.

I have no use for Aaron anymore.

Siobhan? No, just no. Also? Shut up.

Also, I can't watch her sing anymore. The outfits, the glossy lipstick, it's SO distracting.

I keep going back to Casey. At least he's a competent singer and he can play the guitar. He never really goes out on any limbs, but he never messes up much. The thing is, he has no creativity, and I think he's sort of dull witted. Like the reply to Ryan, on Jealous Guy. Do you remember it?

Siobhan...

Her speech was longer than her song.

I think if you took away the light show and the artsy costume, like if she was in sweats, sitting on a stool, would there be anything at all interesting about that?

My artist comment - I know I'm not making much sense. :) I'm sort of talking it out. I was wondering if that's why they're having so much trouble because they are so inexperienced or something. They define themselves as X and they won't move past that. Like Casey and his one note solidly good but never great performances. But, yes the successful people on Idol are always artists.

Siobhan.. okay I take it back. These peeps are not artists. That was awful. I was booting Tim, but you might have pushed yourself up my list.
