I really love Kris with the band so I'm anxious for that too. Lady A, Keith Urban, Daughtry and... Barenaked Ladies and the petapolooza here they come. :)

I don't want to see another performance where he looks like he just came back from ministering to the heathens and is performing in the church hall for 40 people.

LOL. Oh, man. So many things wrong with this. Still makes me laugh.

I knew they were going to save him.

This has much less emotional resonance for me this year (vs. Matt last yr). Why does it seem so set up and fake? Or is it just me?

Andrew had that one great song. Got almost TOO much buzz, and then seemed to lose himself.

So next week they lose two people. When did Matt get the save last year? Top 7?

No, it absolutely does. It's like they are grasping for drama and it keeps elluding their hands.

Truthfully, I would have been fine with anyone going home tonight. Aaron cost me my points though. grr.

I also feel that the only one they wouldn't have saved tonight is Tim... maybe Andrew.

The girls weren't leaving whatever happened. Casey and Lee, nope.

But I'm really serious!! I like his acoustic performances but it just seems they're taking over lately. (Ha. I was not referring to anything Kris has really done, lately, like going to Rwanda. But I can see how it would appear I meant that! No, didn't mean that.)

But yeah, he needs to get back to some rock and roll.

I seriously wonder if it was legit. It just smelled fake. The Matt save did not.

Yeah, Matt was voted out at Top 7. Thanks to the save, who was it that got voted out at Top 7 instead? Anoop, right?

The problem with the save is that it screws with someone else's career. I think the Top 5 person makes more money on the tour than the Top 7. And Matt got to close out the first half of the tour concert.

Yep, Anoop and Lil. Truthfully though, Matt should have stayed over Anoop and Lil. Lil for sure. :p

The save also gives them all another week to improve. You just have to sing well and then you won't need it.

Matt's save was way more emotional. I felt like the others actually wanted them to save Matt.

We need some band. I agree. I'm excited about the Lady Antebellum concert next week. The Radio sophie thing next Monday might be live streamed, but it looks like it will also be accoustic. Then they have the Bahamas gig which should be pretty nice.

Found this back on pg. 11 of this thread. It was posted by missadicted:

A transcript of Kris' latest two iPhone confessionals found on TWoP:

[Note from, me, ross: This was of course before he won.]

Quote: ARTISTRY
. . . You know, as an artist, this show is the biggest platform in the world. There's millions and millions of people watching the show and I think for all of the people, for all of us, all we want to do is be successful. We've all wanted to do the music thing forever, and this is just our way of doing it. And we've gotten really lucky, but this our way of doing it successfully. And hopefully after the show, we are able to go out and make records and love what we're doing and be able to support our families , be able to support ourselves. And I think that's what we're all here for, we're just trying to do what we know how to do. And be happy with it and be happy with our lives. . . .

I know for me, like in my career as a musician now, I'm hoping that I can write my music and sing my music and play it and all that kind of stuff but if that doesn't work out that's...I actually think I'd be totally cool with that. I think through this I've actually learned that I'm okay with not being the head of everything. I've been helping some people out, and you know so have others, but I like helping people out and helping them make songs and stuff like that and writing with other people and just collaborating and I like to do that kind of stuff. And if I'm in the background, that's fine. I just like music a whole lot and I want it to be my life forever and I want to be able to make a living doing it.

JUDGES
. . . I think there's actually been two comments that made me feel really good. And one was when I sang "To Make You Feel My Love" and Simon said "You could do really well in this competition." I think that made me feel really, really good cause I'd been battling with some confidence things and when I sang that song I felt really, really good about it. When Simon said that, I felt like - you know what? maybe I can do well in this thing. And the whole artistry thing that Kara said, I thought that was nice because that's what I feel like I am. I feel like I'm an artist, I'm a musician, I'm a singer. And that just made a lot of sense to me and I really appreciated what she said.

I guess the comment that definitely kinda hurt me the most a little bit was when Simon called me self-indulgent, because that was the one comment throughout this whole thing I did not want to get. I don't feel like I'm a self-indulgent person, I don't feel like that at all. That was the one that, I don't know, made me feel like what I had in my head didn't work out. Maybe it wasn't self-indulgent but it just kinda hurt to get that comment. Not horribly, it was just that I didn't like that because that's not what I want to be on the show. I don't want to be self-indulgent, I don't want to be all about me so that was the one that hit home the worst.

Hi! I was watching Lost before AI, so I started watching the show a little later and caught up later on during the show.

I'm so glad Kris and Cale did SMAYA (Smaya? LOL!)!! I don't care acoustic or plugged in, Kris alone, Kris with Cale, Kris with Andrew, Kris with the band (um, I might prefer acoustic actually, yep), but I want him/them to do the other songs live! We all have preferences/requests, well that's mine. So, I'm happy for SMAYA and it sounded awesome!

Okay, AI. Wow, Michael. I was sure they would use the save when Ryan told him he was the one in danger. I can't say I'm a fan of him, but I would have booted all of Tim, Aaron and Andrew before him. I'm surprised they used the save this early though, I thought they would use it during Idol Gives Back, you know, it would have been fitting. But no. At least, it's gone now.

I actually kind of liked Jason Derulo. I heard In My Head this morning on the radio and the chorus is insanely catchy. It's the kind of disposable song that I won't be able to tolerate in three weeks time though. Also, he samples Imogen Heap's Hide and Seek in Watcha Say and I'd take her amazing song over his anyday.

(By the way, I heard the Sean Kingston/Justin Bieber duet on another station this afternoon. That was traumatic. Seriously, it's one of the worst songs I've ever heard.)

I liked Archie. I think a lot of Cook fans have developed warm feelings for Archie since Cook cares for him so much. If he has some good songs on his next album, I'll definitely buy them.

Rihanna, though? That was atrocious. Awful. Horrible. I don't understand how that kind of stuff is popular, I don't. So, so bad.

(By the way (#2), apparently today, some Glamberts took offense to the fact that Cook is not following Adam on twitter, or stopped following him at some point. Seriously, who cares?)

Aw, Chris Daughtry re-tweeted the video of Kris singing Send Me All Your Angels.. Love. :love10: and I love SMAYA, I wish it had made the regular non-Walmart album.

Kris is like the farthest thing from self-indulgent. Kris just loves music you can see it in everything he does. He changes things.. organic is the word. You know why I love Kris playing with Cale so much? We always get news songs. :)

Haircut would be good though. Just sayin'

I bought Jason's Watcha Say. Rhianna's Rock star song will not make the Ipod. Rude Boy though I would buy.

Why aren't those things posted on his official site? They don't make it easy to keep track.

Also? I usually don't bother with his hair, but Kris needs a haircut. Desperately. And, to announce his next single. More than time.

Honestly, you can't demand people follow other people. LOL I don't even expect Kris to listen to my request for a haircut. If my friends don't let me pick their hairstyles -- Kris shouldn't either. But still.

Haircut needed, stat.

Above is the live chat with Richard Rushfield where he talks about what the contestants told him about the save, last year. How they felt like they had instigated it, and had suspended the contest temporarily.

What happened to R. Rushfield? He left the LA Times to write for some Idol blog, I think. But he's far less visible this year, don't you think?

It's weird, I really don't have those fuzzy feelings towards season 8. In the end, I only liked Kris and Adam on the show. A lot of Cook fans also have fuzzy feelings towards season 7. And I don't. The only Idol season that gives me fuzzy feelings is CI6.

Well, about the single, I actually think they might still be tryng to figure it out. Maybe they're doing some last-minute market research, because they changed their minds. Maybe Kris is holding out for a different song than they want. Also, maybe they heard Adam was going to be mentoring next week, and decided not to release the single until all that dies down.
