I enjoyed those clips! But I made a stupid mistake. They were also up on mj's blog, and I looked at the comments there, and there were some serious buzz-killer posters on there. Just button-pushing jerks but they ended up bugging me. The comments on YouTube are mostly hilarious, though.

You know, there's something about Adam that's naive, or vulnerable. It comes through in those clips (to me, anyway). Sometimes it's there, then it's gone. I can't explain what I mean. I think he may wear his heart on his sleeve a bit. I think he's insecure, also.

Kris is probably the stronger one. You know what I thought was funny? In the last interview (Lindsay Parker), Kris said he cried when the writers of Falling Slowly gave him all that stuff. Plus, he supposedly cried in Thailand when he gave his guitar away. Yet he claims he never cries, he's not a crier.

Lukas was all about the drama on the show, Maybe not to the vocal extent that Adam had but he went all spotlight stage director too. He was my favourite on Season 2. But it was his early songs that really got me. Which brings up an interesting point - the influence of pre-Idol material that leaks during the show - how much of a factor is it?

I think it's influential. I mean, it has to be. I imagine "fairness" is not the only reason AI doesn't allow MySpaces to stay up. It also means they can manipulate the vote more. We only have access to what they give us.

Of course, YouTube changed that. Look at Adam. He had so much stuff on YouTube. People were commenting on it on the forums from the beginning. I think some people even liked his YouTube stuff more than what he was doing on the show. He wasn't as popular then as he became later, and I wouldn't be surprised if his YouTube stuff filled in some of the gaps. The small-club ballad performances, religious music, and Brigadoon/Wicked songs showed he had amazing versatility and also a "softer" side, and a prettier-music side. I think this helped him appeal to a wider range of people.

I can't vote on CI, but if I could have, Sebastian's and Earl's pre-Idol music (on their MySpaces, which CI allows to stay up during the competition) would have influenced me a lot to give them votes.

So I think the pre-Idol music is very much in the mix.

I know what you mean about the vulnerability that you see in Adam. I see that too.. then he makes a joke and turns things around. But it's definitely there.

Earl's music was really good - I agree and I liked Sebastian's too. But in the same respect Mookie's made me think that he wasn't "quite" ready. I loved Mookie but after hearing his music I thought that he needed a bit more time to mature. It's kinda how I felt about Allison too. That they are amazing, amazing but - not just not ready yet. That they needed the time away from the pressure of Idol to figure themselves out a bit.

Of course now they both have been signed so I hope they get to really work on things and put out an album that they are really happy with. The whole November timeline makes me nervous for Kris, Adam and Allison. I want their music to be good, and not rushed.

Did you see the TV guide interview..? holy cuteness. Kris making Adam blush was just too funny.

He made Adam blush? Seriously? I have to go watch it again. Kris was awesome there. The whole thing is so amazing, though, isn't it? I sometimes even forget these guys sing. It's more like they won a competition as human beings.

So it looks like the Michael Jackson Top 13 episode of AI is going to be re-run on Monday night as a tribute to MJ. At least, Fox is re-running it. Not sure about CTV.

Have you seen this one, from Radaronline.com?

Tour: “People want to see you do songs from the show, but it’s nice to be able to throw in something that you want to do and really mold your time onstage,” says Kris. Adam Lambert promises a 'post-apocalyptic-rocked-out-space-disco-funk' look to his outfits."

Okay, wait: outfits? He has five songs, when does he change? And...did he mention fog machines?? I hope Adam doesn't hog attention with a lot of stagey stuff that has nothing to do with singing! Arrgh. That's hard to follow. As a singer, Kris can always follow Adam. But I'm not sure he can follow Adam in a mini Cirque Du Soleil/Zodiak Show.

Well, he probably can. But it does seem stacked against him at times.

Kris and Adam were on with Seacrest this morning. Did you listen to it on mj's blog?

Great observation re Mookie and Allison. I think they have all the equipment but they aren't there yet. The pressure of Idol is part of it, and also just age, don't you think? Big difference between sounding or acting mature, and being mature, as a singer. They have to grow into their voices and performance styles, in a way.

I know right? It's crazy. I liked them during Idol, but holy crap I think I'm in love with them both now as humans. Madness.

I don't know if CTV will air it again but we get FOX, so if CTV doesn't I can always watch it on FOX. I have a meeting Monday night so I don't know if I'll be home but I'll tape it for sure. What a sad day, eh?

I listened to all the interviews (that I could find!!) lol.

I know I was thinking the same thing, but as we've seen Kris is surprisingly resiliant. I think it's going to be tough but he can pull it off.

Absolutely, there are things that they will only learn from age and experience. I think Allison is going to learn SO MUCH from this tour. Well they all will really but Allison is going to be a star I think.

Thanks. SleepinIn. I hadn't seen that stuff. I read something a while back, I'm a little foggy on it, from one of the idols -- something about Allison's age, on the show, and how if she happened to get a crush on one of the guys, the rest had to sort of talk her through it. So who do you think she had the crush on? (I figured Kris. Don't know why. Hope not Danny. ew.)

This is how I pass my time, now. Wondering who Allison had a crush on.

Anyhow...I assume you're following Kris on twitter. Kind of amazing that he signed up, what, two days ago, and already has about 32,000 followers.

Speaking of numbers, I was searching "Kris Allen" on twitter and someone tweeted comparing the number of people online on Adam's official website vs. Kris's. People do this a lot (Adam fans). On mj's blog, also. There are usually about 300-350 users online on Adam's website, and only about 25-100 on Kris's.

Why I don't go there: I just don't like it. It doesn't always function right, either. I always go to KrisAllennation. They update the site a lot, and the whole spirit is different.

A while ago Kalan Porter's official website was redesigned. At that time, he also had an unofficail website and forum. Sony asked that this be shut down and consolidated with the new, improved official site, and that was done. The official site now has all the best of both worlds, it's like a real grass roots fansite, but it's technically very slick. I think this is what should be done in Kris's case, too.

Also, either KA Nation or his official site needs a forum. Like Kalan's or Hedley's forums.

Have you been to Kris's official MySpace? A bit hard to find, for some reason. I noticed a couple of days ago that Mishavonna sent him a note congratulating him.

Matt had twitpics of her with him at Disneyworld. She looked great.

Do you follow him on twitter? Today, he and Gokey had twitpics of them with Paula, at rehearsal (her faves). I think Paula and Anoop also had twitpics of various things. Don't get those pole dancing references...

I hadn't heard that. Of the top 13 - I'd go with Kris too. But she doesn't really come across as having a crush on him. They seem very brother and sister to me.. hmm.. maybe it was someone from the semi's?

This is how I pass my time, now. Wondering who Allison had a crush on.

Yeah, we're nuts I think, too bad too since I wasn't going to get that involved with Idol at all this year. lol. See how well that worked out for me?

Anyhow...I assume you're following Kris on twitter. Kind of amazing that he signed up, what, two days ago, and already has about 32,000 followers.

Ahem. No comment. But I'm probably one of the 32,000. Just sayin'. I guess we can relax - Kris has fans.

I bounce around from site to site. I never really stay on his official site cause I'm with you - the official sites always sort of suck unless the artist runs them themselves and updates everything. I don't know why all Adam's fans are hanging around his site actually. It is updated more than Kris's so maybe that's the reason? But really there are other sites out there with more information.

A while ago Kalan Porter's official website was redesigned. At that time, he also had an unofficail website and forum. Sony asked that this be shut down and consolidated with the new, improved official site, and that was done. I agree I really like the site Kalan has now, although I wasn't that familiar with the old one - but this one is fresh and a lot younger in tone - and from following the guy on twitter - he's really funny.

Also, either KA Nation or his official site needs a forum. Like Kalan's or Hedley's forums.

There is a forum on Kris's offical site - but it's so awkward to read that it's practically useless. I just find it frustrating and migrate to IDF or TWOP Krisallennantion MJ's or here to you. lol. Someone has to know something. Kris would be better off with a site that showed him informally I think. I mean I know he cleans up nice - but he's really a casual guy at heart.

Have you been to Kris's official MySpace? A bit hard to find, for some reason. I noticed a couple of days ago that Mishavonna sent him a note congratulating him.

No! I'll have to check it out.

Matt and the Tigger picture was priceless.

Do you follow him on twitter? Today, he and Gokey had twitpics of them with Paula, at rehearsal (her faves). I think Paula and Anoop also had twitpics of various things. Don't get those pole dancing references...

LOL - I follow them all on Twitter. I think I got Twitter to follow one person and now I'm crazy addicted. I find it insane and yet it's so quick with information. It's kind of hard to believe how addicting it actually is.

I was reading Twitter when the news on MJ hit the wires and it seemed like everyone was on there -- and literally they were.

Yeah, I remember being frustrated on that site but I forget why. Maybe that's why.

There are supposedly other problems, like: it's hard to read the print because it's orange. And the links were messed up (I guess that's fixed now). And maybe RCA mainstains Adam's site and does a better job than Jive does with Kris's? Don't know.

Ultimately, who's online isn't significant, anyhow. It just means more people are on the forums. If you just look at the site or lurk, you aren't logged in anyway.

Ahem. No comment. But I'm probably one of the 32,000.

Me too. Except, since I wrote that, it's gone up to over 34,000.

I agree I really like the site Kalan has now, although I wasn't that familiar with the old one - but this one is fresh and a lot younger in tone - and from following the guy on twitter - he's really funny.

Have you looked at his blog on the website? He's been working on his album and (I guess) had severe laptop issues, so he hasn't blogged much lately, but it's sometimes hilarious. I don't follow him on Twitter, though. I should.

For some reason it always surprises me how funny both Kalan and Jacob are. (Jacob is definitely not a funny blogger, though.) A few times when I've been watching Kradam I've thought of Jalan. It's like: Kradam is what Jalan should have been. A more highly evolved version.

I don't know. Maybe if Jacob could admit he had a crush on Kalan he'd have some kind of breakthrough. lol

Yeah, we're nuts I think, too bad too since I wasn't going to get that involved with Idol at all this year. lol. See how well that worked out for me?

Me too. I was like: "I don't like this show, but I'll try it. There's going to be no CI this year, I might as well." Ha!!! Now I'm trying to figure out the point when I actually got invested.

I thought I'd link to this today, it's old, but when I originally watched it, it was something like 2:00am on finale night. Today I watched it and enjoyed it more, being awake this time.

Kris talking to Justin Guarini.

Have you seen this? It's a media study, of only 300 people, to see how this group would react to a news clip. It's not an opinion poll. But it has a very misleading headline: Majority of Viewers Want Recount of American Idol Voting for Season 8 Winner (!) Honestly, it never ends.

I was reading Twitter when the news on MJ hit the wires and it seemed like everyone was on there -- and literally they were.

I ended up looking at Elizabeth Taylor's twitter account because they were friends.

On a happier note: I'm seeing the tour in less than three weeks! That kind of snuck up on me. I keep thinking it's months away, for some reason.

I got it wrong, the tour isn't here until August. Duh.

PS. Kris now has 35,104 followers. And is working on a "killa" song right now. Yup.

It is funny how outworldy Jabob is so crazy and his inner voice is way more serious than you would think and Kalan who comes across as serious is actually funny.

I never really got the impression that Jacob and Kalan talked much after Idol.
(I could be way off base here). I wish the CI's got the chance to tour together after the show like the AI's do it sounds like it is a great opportunity to ease them into the music business.

Jacob dissed Kalan a couple of times the year after. Said he looked like a girl, one time, and another time when an interviewer kept asking hm about Kalan, Jacob kept responding, "Who's she?" (I saw that one on YouTube.)

I don't know why he did that. I don't think they were friendly after that. Then, maybe a year ago, I heard Jacob say on Much that Kalan had sent him a bottle of tequila. So I guess they made up. I don't think they're friends, though.

(That's why I made the comparison between them, and Kris and Adam. Just meant that in some ways the two pairs are similar, but not in the way they relate to each other.)

It is funny how outworldy Jabob is so crazy and his inner voice is way more serious than you would think and Kalan who comes across as serious is actually funny.

Never thought of that! Very true.

Live posting during the big rerun.

Haha, I forgot what the pimpage was like. This was a very easy season for me to choose faves for, since while I liked all these kids (more or less. Some more, some less), I didn't really think too many of them were good singers. So far I've watched Lil, then (OMG, I already forget who went next. Who was it? Oh, yeah Scott. I always forgot him the first time around, too

Paula was so excited to tell Danny and Adam they were in the finale it was actually funny tonight. "Take it all in" I like Adam, and I like his voice.. but I did not care for him singing Black and White at all. Clearly I watched a different show from everyone else, since the universal opinion is that it was very good - lol. I wonder if it was the fact that the judges were so over enthusiastic about it? It's possible.

I went back to see what I thought of it the first time.. and I guess I wasn't keeping up well then as I had nothing at all to say.. oh, how swiftly the fall came.

I'd make the cut off the top 5. With me actually caring if any of them won ... Kris, Adam and Allison - takes me to top 3. But that being said I agree with you they all seem like really likeable human beings and I actually thought Jasmine and Jorge weren't as bad as I recall them being. That doesn't mean I need more from them though. ;)

Okay, that wasn't actually my whole post. I somehow hit the button and posted it by mistake. See how there's no period at the end of it? So, I went back to edit it. I covered the whole show. But when I tried to post the edit, I couldn't. Apparently you only have an hour to edit. So I lost it all.

Basically I agree with everything you said. :)

Jasmine and Jorge were not as bad as I remembered, either, especially Jorge. I would probably substitute him for Sarver or Scott in the Top 10. Still, he's ordinary.

Kris was vocally rough at times but I liked the style of what he was doing. I mean, who gives a crap, anyway, because HE WON. Yeah, baby.

I liked seeing him on my TV again. But from now on, if I want to see him sing, I'll have to go to a concert. Seems kinda weird. I know what he is as an artist isn't going to be totally captured on a CD. Same for Adam. It's about seeing them, too.

Last year on the CI finale, I was so happy to see Jacob. Because he's fantastic performing on TV. I mean, Idol creates TV stars, who then try to become recording artists. There's something about that that doesn't add up

Anyhow, yeah, the OTT pimpage was hilarious! What did they give Adam, like five minutes on stage after he sang? It seemed to go on forever. The hugest close-ups,too. And Paula was raving mad!

Simon didn't hear the Danny I heard, it was pretty rough to my ears.

I miss this show. It makes me crazy, but I'm hooked I guess.

hehe I stayed away from this show simply because it's termed as a " 'reality' show". I'll wait for the results. I do have an opinion of this blowhard, Simon whatsisname, though. "Loud-mouthed schnook" is the term that applies. We think he should stick to tv producing and shut his overly verbose, bombastic, hurtful, and egocentric cakehole. :D (can't help but grinning....... that's wifey's description of the dood. I just think he's a jerk. )

Wow, L Gilbert, I think the results are in.

This was a rebroadcast. Or am I misunderstanding you?

I agree with you about Simon. I mean, I agree with your wife.

Well, the producers clearly love him. They want to pay him $144 million!! Like holy crap. That's insane. Who's worth $144 million? There's no other music meanie on the scene?

'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell could earn $144 million

I actually agree with Simon a lot of the time, but you're right he can be a rude, egocentric jerk to the contestants.

I mean, Idol creates TV stars, who then try to become recording artists. There's something about that that doesn't add up

Completely agree with this. It's so backwards. Build the fanbase - then build the music. Why am I so hooked damnit!

I really loved this interview with Kris from Newsweek, a lot of great insight in it.

Well, I finally broke down and took that &%#@ quiz, on twitter, and which Idol do you think they said I was? Jennifer Hudson! So I did it again, because I don't want to be Jennifer Hudson, and answered a couple of things differently, and they said I was Chris Daughtry. I guess that's slightly better. Guess I'm something of a diva, huh?

Anoop took the quiz and they said he was Kris. And Kris took it and he was: Kris. lol That figures, somehow.

Why am I so hooked damnit!

American Idol is evil. Evil incarnate! (Okay, maybe not. But it's very addictive.)

'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell could earn $144 million
Do you know what kind of money this show must rake in, if they can afford to pay him that much a year??

So what do you think? Would AI last very long, if Simon wasn't on it? See, I'd watch it and not miss him at all, but a lot of people watch it for Simon. It's amazing how so much rides on his opinion. It's like up or thumbs down from a Roman emperor.

I watched last night's show again (well, just the performances. And I skipped a few.) What stood out this time was the pimpage of Lil, Danny, and Adam, TCOs.

Re: "Gone." Was Kris supposed to have worked with Kara? I never read that.

BTW, I have read so much, or heard so much (from Adam) about who Adam is working with, but much less about who Kris is working with. Do you think Adam is getting the royal treatment and Kris not so much? Or does Kris just talk less?
