How do these adds work, anyway? Are the stations affiliated with one another?
Why were these particular stations added today? I imagine more are scheduled to be added soon, right? Maybe a week from today? I have no idea how it works. Why were no Boston stations added, do you think? It seems so weird. Toronto, I can understand, in a way. He's an American Idol winner, maybe this doesn't interest Canadians a lot. (The city of Worcester -- in the middle of Massachusetts -- has a station that has added it.)

Serena Ryder...now I remember her. I've heard her before. I have to listen some more.

(and I'm not looking at the chart.. nope, not gonna do it. I'll look tomorrow, tonight is about the good news of the adds.. okay maybe I'll look later.. lol)

Wait until tomorrow. Or the next day. lol

I didn't think too many from this year seemed ready to go home. Top 10, I mean.
Tenacious bunch. Megan knew it was time, and I think Anoop had had it. But the rest, not so much.

ETA: Will the LLWD single cover change on iTunes tomorrow? it hasn't yet. (On the Top 100.)

Basically, mediabase counts the radio stations that report to it (not all do). It's basically statistics for radio people. It also forms the basis of shows like Ryan Seacrest's Americas Top 40.

Songs usually push for adds from radio stations on a particular day. On that day stations can either add it to their playlists or not. (although they can add it at any time and I believe a certain number of spins is an automatic add) Anyway the different formats have different reporting days and that's why yesterday and today were so important for Kris since HAC was yesterday and POP/CHR was today.

Today it seems that one of the big radio networks added Kris across the board to all their stations and that's why he got so many adds. A lot of Clear Channel stations also added him (thanks Z100!)

I think the Boston station being CBS owned was one of the reasons, they said they didn't jump in right away.

What are your local stations call letters. I can check and see what they added today... :) Radio analysis.. hee

I think maybe Lil too. But yeah, they were fighters. Look at Matt, he was down like 3 times, and popped back up again.

ETA: Kris isn't on the Canadian itunes chart. But WTF with Stereos. This is like their 3rd top ten itunes hit. So not right.

Kris is #116 in the US itunes store.

Guys, guys, guys. I go away for a concert and now I have so much that I want to comment on! We should call each other, it would take less time, LOL!

First, as far as I know, ross, Cook never presented the nominations last year. He performed on the red carpet during the pre-show (not during the show itself) and introduced Carrie, who was performing on the show. Of course, he was still on the show, while Kris might not be at all.

Second, I think we can give credit to the Kris fans. They won't forget about him. And they won't all turn to Adam even if he is everywhere. If they don't like Adam and his music, they won't start to like him just because his video plays before a movie. And if they like both, well good for them and good for both Adam and Kris.

I think there was some angst also among the Cook fans today. Like saying that Adam is the new king at RCA and that RCA doesn't care about Cook anymore, that they wouldn't release another single from his album, that it wasn't good that he didn't have a new single because he wouldn't have any buzz for the Grammy nominations. Some other fans brought them down, saying that RCA is responsible for a lot of other artists, and that even if yes, Adam has a lot of buzz right now, they won't just forget about the others. I think David seems to be ready to finish the tour, take a couple of weeks off and then go on to record album #2. Who knows if not having another single out is really one of his preoccupations?

A tour with Jason and Kris? NO! I don't like Jason. At all. His voice grates.

I've been to LA, but I've never been to Echo Park, it seems really pretty. I loved San Francisco though. LOVED it.

Thanks for the Christmas gift suggestion ross. It will be our pleasure to send it to you.

Finally, yes I went to see MIKA! He was awesome. The show was in a theater that usually hosts operas, orchestras, etc. Let's say that room probably hasn't seen a party like there was tonight in years!

LMAO, EEE! Concert was good? That's awesome. MIKA!

Oh, there is angst enough for all, isn't there? Isn't this fun? I love angst-ing. (grumble) Seriously, I like slow and steady for Kris. Fewer ups and downs..more even keel. Works for me.

One show would be good.. :) For me.... as long as it's close.

OK, I can give you that.

As if I had any say in the matter...

And yay, angst! Not. I hate angst. Enough angst in "real life".

Aewsome about Mika, MIKA,or however he spells it. I think I like him. I talked to someone in work about him today -- I knew this guy would know who he is. I forget what he said now, though. (Tired.)

I've been to LA, but I've never been to Echo Park, it seems really pretty. I loved San Francisco though. LOVED it.

I think Echo Park is kind of seedy. San Francisco is awesome, though. I LOVE it too. I also like the wine country near SF, a lot. Sonoma.

Yeah, you're right. :)

Interesting about David. I know Adam is in an enviable position, but also an unenviable one in some ways. Upstart is the word that comes the mind. There's definitely a possibility of backlash. In the USA the entertainment/gossip press love to build you up and then tear you down. This is why I'm relatively happy the press isn't into building Kris up into anything -- he flies under the radar. But he does need a reasonable amount of buzz, also.

Thanks for the Christmas gift suggestion ross. It will be our pleasure to send it to you.

I'm waiting for the Adam Lambert edible underwear.

This is very, very true. I worry about Adam sometimes. (grr. Angst) Luckily Adam seems to be quite grounded.

I'm waiting for the Adam Lambert edible underwear.
If we find them. They are soooo yours.

Kris said "Hey" on twitter.. like 500 people tweeted him hey back. lmao.

LOL. Was it good or bad at least?

What does that mean? I'm serious, I don't know.

In my post, I didn't want to imply that Cook was ready for his tour to end right now, at this moment, the guys are still on fire. But, when it ends, he'll appreciate it I think.

I'm waiting for the Adam Lambert edible underwear.

LMAO!

Damn! I wanted to hear LLWD on the radio.

"Seedy" (definition): inferior in condition or quality: as a : shabby, run-down <seedy clothes> b : somewhat disreputable <a seedy district>

Maybe it's not so seedy. I don't know. My dad told me it used to be.

"Since the early 2000s, artists, actors, musicians and gay couples of all races have flocked the neighborhood for its relatively affordable housing and alternative feel, maikng it one of the most diversified communties in the United States." -- Wikipedia.

Sounds like it's pretty good, now.

Recap? Sure!

I had a ticket in the fourth row, completely on the side, but still, the theater has 3 balconies, so I had a great ticket! I had a great view of the stage.

The opener was Gary Go. Not that well known here. I knew (and really like) one of his songs, "Wonderful". I'll probably check out his CD, but the songs all sounded alike. Good voice though. He kinda looked like a nerd. But a cute nerd!

Mika was on stage for around an hour and a half and really had a good mix of songs from his first and second CDs. There a was a bit of a production at the beginning, with Mika coming in dressed as an astronaut and stripping down to his boxers, but I don't think it was that successful. It's not my kind of thing anyway and it was a bit long. But, he then proceeded to "get the party started" in the place with his music, which was perfect. People all got out of their seats (except the last balcony!) and some people invaded the space between the stage and the first row. The energy was great in the place.

I was really close to the speakers, so I don't think I got the best sound, but the guy can sing, there's no doubt. He wanders a bit aimlessly around the stage, but it didn't bother me that much. He seemed happy that his new songs (his CD was released only a few weeks ago) were as well received as his biggest hits, though the biggest singalongs happened on the bigger hits (Relax, Grace Kelly, Big Girl, Happy Ending).

It was my third time seeing him and I have to say it was my favorite. The last time, it was in front of 11,000 people in an arena and it was probably way too big for what they had planned. He didn't have enough material, he spent too much time doing slower numbers at the piano, which is a big boring in an arena, with no big screens, when you only want to dance. Tonight, he had less slower numbers and they were well mixed with the more upbeat songs, so that they were more effective.

Anyway, the guy is very generous and genuine and I hope I'll get to listen to his music for a long long time!
