ok... do you remember back when canada actually tried to be an innovator in aerospace? do you remember how dief caved to the US and scrapped the aero? THAT was a major step to the diminishing of the canadian military.

Won't argue with you about that, Dief was wrong, from what little I know about it.

Harpsicord and social programs:
you think he is going to fund them? he has not produced numbers. wonder why? perhaps it has to do with his "small government"/"private enterprise" agenda. Harpsicord wants the government out of pretty much everything.

Yes, I do think he will fund it. Less government in my life would be a good thing. Why pay taxes to produce something that can be produced by private enterprise?

do i have to dig up ALL the anti-quebec, anti-medicare, anti-gay, pro-big-business, pro-american statements he has made? Would you settle for a look at every one of his poilicy statements that is anti-clear-policy?

If you consider actually making Quebec accountable, go ahead. If you have a problem with a private and public health care mix, go ahead, I think it is the only way our health care system will survive. If you are talking about his support for the traditional definition of marriage, that is not anti gay, and is something I support, along with civil unions with all the attendent benefits and rights. I have no fear of the US. If you can find some of the policies in this campaign that support your claims, post em.

Harpie could not sell this country to the US fast enough for his liking. I have posted links to harie rhetoric on these forums and not a single con has tried to refute the true harpie. Why is that?

Because, my friend, we do not waste time on foolishness or trying to disprove a negative. Your selling out comment is simply not true, now, then, or in the future as PM.

BTW, why don't you pick out one slur on Harpers name and stick with it, continually changing it is foolish and pathetic.

waste time?

nonsense! i provided specific quotes from harps and nobody that supports him wants to defend him on his own word. that is not trying to disprove a negative, that is living in denial of the truth!

you don't like the harper names? what name would like him refered to as? it has to be something "suitable" and based on the words out of his own mouth.

But did you also supply quotes out of Martins mouth, and hey, what about your buddy Ed Schryer (sp?) who also opposed SSM? Kinda forgot about that, did we

no, i have not quoted anything on martin but i am not defending or supporting the martin liberals. I am explicitly going after harper as i view him as the one that needs exposure for what he is.

Don't confuse me with a liberal supporter. I will state for the record again that i supported the Mulroney PCs and then the bloc when Bouchard split federally. I have supported the NDP and Liberals provincially (BC) which really means i don't stand behind either one of them.

we had a lot of things in the era before trudeau, colpy.

we can't live in the past though. times change, people change, the country changed.

"We are seeing so many things degrading simultaneously that they may not recover." this degrading began BEFORE Trudeau. However, as canada changes, this degrading of the military may more be a sign of positive changes in how we view ourselves and how we handle ourselves.

Diefenbaker, was the true desotryer of the Canadian Military and the Canadian Aurospace indestry we had at the time.

Hmmm if the Senate thinks we should spend more on the military then we should take that money out of the Senate budgit.

I can agree with all of you on topic!

My own experience is second hand; friends in the military and most are happy, well adjusted and love what they do.

Like most of us they are continually short of resource and looking at that aspect of it I see it as a way to keep them signing up for foreign duty. Can't make it big without the bonus.

As far as making the military larger, where are the people going to come from? The manpower shortage in Canada is acute now and no sign of it letting up.

Peterboro Trucks in Ontario were going to start a third shift and had to cancel it because they couldn't get the people.

Alberta is thowing open their doors to any immigrants who can remotly qualify as truck drivers thinking that will ease the course some.

Nope, don't see how we can do more than up grade equipment.
