Never heard such nonsense as long as we have socialism we will never attain
the dream. Without a measure of social conscience and some serious conservative
fiscal policy we would be living a Canadian nightmare. The measure of a nation is
determined by how we treat those less fortunate. There are countries where we see
the fittest survive and even the wealthy ones by comparative standards. We are seeing
problems develop in nations that had a mixture that is now out of balance France,
Russia, America, all struggling with the same problem they abandoned the middle class
and now they face serious problems. Prior to the great depression people accepted
their lot now this thing called education and dammit I want my share has changed the
rules. Greece on the other hand is what happens when the left does get out of balance
and there was no conservative counter balance.
People seem to think one side or the other can operate in a vacuum and all will be well.
That is simply wishful thinking. In the west at the moment we have an over balance of
the conservative policies that allow for outrageous paychecks for a handful of people
and the middle class is about to fold. Before that happens especially with the young
they will rise up and demand their share the hay ride for wall street and corporate
friends is nearly over. The Canadian Dream will be when we have business controlled
by legislation again, when business has some ethics and the unions get off their duff
and raise the stakes. when we have a strong middle class again that can afford to buy
what Canadians produce and we in this country begin to produce products of value
and use our resources for Canadians. The Canadian Dream is not being sucked down
into a government/corporate manhole where we all praise the powers that be.
We are living with conservative policy not socialism or social democratic policy for
nearly a decade now and we have to balance the equation a bit. Keeping a healthy
balance is the Canadian Dream not massive left right swings we have seen in the
past two decades. (End of rant)
