You won't get any kind of sense out of Washington on this issue as they're bent on perpetrating the nonsense that Homeland Security is actually making them safer while at the same time allowing the cheap labour, along with drugs and criminals, to come flooding into their country via their southern border. It's all about the optics. They desperately need those latin voters, as their traditional voting base, is becoming ever more disillusioned with their failed policies. They like to portray us as the socialistic "boogyman" to the north because our political and fiscal policies have been shown to be superior to theirs. To do otherwise would be an acknowledgement of failure and a repudiation of their global expansionistic tendancies. Keep the "amuurican" public casting a juandiced eye north and they'll ignore the nonsense occurring on any number of other "fronts" and even within their very country.
