Is that supposed to be summer and winter months?? Odd that the makers of the map would cut the US out as being part of the changes.
The East Coast could be getting lake effect snow at some point. I would think that would start with lots of freezing rain events as well as lake effect blizzards where the Gulf Steam is the source of the moisture.
Other than it being wise to carry a set of tire-chains it should kill travel very much. There is an industry right there, making traction devices for cars and small trucks that are about $5/wheel.
Somewhere between the two will be the areas that get seasonal rains, seen as the green belt in the globe, rather than getting covered by ice it moves south at the same rate the land is covered with ice.
