It makes sense to have military personnel trained for firefighting. Not like we have any wars going on. And they are being paid anyway. Many of them could do with some time out of the office.

Only thing is a slight problem imo with the level of enthusiasm to do with modern day soldiering. Casualties are mere statistics it seems.

Original thought was an attempt to provide direction for young people that would qualify as a credit to the defense budget total.
If killing anyone you don’t like is the kind of direction you want the youth to be pointed in.
That's not the job of a military (well, maybe Canada's "military").
The job is to kill whom you're told.

Pretty weird system. When you kill someone the government doesn’t like, you are a hero(sometimes). When you kill someone rhat really deserves it, like a politician or used car salesman, you are a murderer. Kinda like the difference between pirate and privateer.
The difference is a piece of paper (a "letter of marque and reprisal").
