I don't know yet. It hasn't happened yet if it will at all. Perhaps The Conservatives will
endorse the "Green Shift" or something equally bizarre. We are talking about politics....

How about yourself? Keeping an open mind or got things picked out regardless of what
might come down the pipe? Me...I'm keeping an open mind and my options open. Still
a few weeks of blunders and false promises to measure and weigh. Someone might float
to the top of the pile and inspire all of Canada. That would be drastic. I'm still waiting.

I noticed the word TRANSPARENCY hasn't been mentioned at all this time by Harper, I suppose is because he doesn't want to remind the Canadian voters of his good intentions....:roll:But like like you say anything can happen, we could even see an alliance come down the pipe between the Green and the Liberals in Quebec maybe the Block and the NDP think alike in Quebec............I am a devoted Lib and all I want to see is a balanced Canada not the extreme right, not the extreme Left, left of center works for me........:smile:

I think you're onto something there Soc. Here's a weird one for you though on the
Left and Right and Centre concept. It's a perception thing. You see the Liberals as a
bit left of centre and the Conservatives way off to the right. That's your perception.

Others may see the Liberal Party as very far left much closer to the NDP and the Greens.
They would see something like the Western Separation Party as off to the right and the
Conservatives as being just a bit right of centre. I think part of it is a regional thing, but it
sure can't be all of it. Have you ever wondered why there is only one Liberal and no NDP
MP's in Alberta and Saskatchewan? I think it's a perception as to where the centre is out here.

The Liberals are a little left of your centre and the Conservatives are a bit right of mine. We
both seem to think the Parties we're each leaning towards are the closest to the centre. This
seems like it could be an interesting race.

Here's a twist to things. You would like to see the Liberals win this goat-rodeo and I'm assuming
the NDP as the official opposition. I'd like to the Conservatives take a strong minority with
the NDP as the official opposition. The Liberals aren't very popular out on the Prairies as this
Green Shift thing scares the living sh*t out of most people that lived through the NEP and others
that feel they understand that it's just a tax grabbing wealth transfer. That's the opinion and I'm not
knocking your Party, just making a point. Many (not all, but many...) out here that I've talked to
still don't want to see a conservative majority and plan on voting NDP to increase the odds of them
becoming the official opposition as they see the Conservatives as a slam dunk.

I'm assuming that there's got to be large clusters out there (just not out here) that think the Liberals
could be a slam dunk so they'll vote NDP to try and improve the odds of them being the official
opposition. If enough people think in this "strategic" manner, the NDP might just take this one. If
that happened, who would be the most surprised (aside from the majority of Canadians)???
Harper, Dion, or Layton himself???

P.S. Have you noticed that Mr. Dion hasn't mentioned the term "Green Shift" in the last couple
of days unless someone else brings it up in a direct question to him? Just an observation
much like Harpers lack of the use of the word "transparency.'

little Right of my Centre....that still leaves us both closer to the middle (and each other)
arguing about Parties that are bookends to our beliefs.

If a Party rises up truely in the Centre of the Left-Right concept, and if the majority of the
citizens of the country perceive it that way somehow even with our very different ideals
and regional differences....we're going to have to find something other than politics to
argue about. Are black dogs smarter than white dogs? Is the weather here better than the
weather there? CFL football?

By the way...the Riders got their @sses handed to them last night by the Lions. I think
that leaves the Riders still in first place for the League, but I'm not sure for how long
though.

Ye that is were they are, this for sure will be like no other election, lots to choose from as well, looking at the anecdotes the Conservatives supposedly have a strong leader and a weak team, and the Liberals have a weak leader with a very strong experienced team... Your observation is on the money, good to see Dion taking a detour early enough in the campaign were any damage can correct it self.................. At the end I will be fine with a minority Harper knowing that Dion is not the guy to take Harper's job, Bob, or Michel can definitely give Harper and his Conservatives a run for their money...

I will most likely vote "independent" unless Tim Horton becomes the leader of the Rhino party, in which case I will vote Rhino. I have found independents in general to have more good sense than the rest and are less likely to be swayed by toeing the party line at the public's expense. Can't stand any of the leaders now.
But don't tell anyone, this will be my secret ballot. :roll:

UM, BTW, NO election is like any of the others.
