The issue is far too important to have flawed individuals stumping around making a living off it....
Indeed. Business must be particularly good given the attention this issue now garners.

Really?
How?

Huh?Surley what happens in China can't affect us.
But never with the fevered pitch and never have I seen Suzuki go all child like before...Dismissing debate, storming out of interviews...ya real great poster boy Avro...Even though these two individuals have been combating pollution for over 30 years?
You wouldn't know what an ideolohy was if it fell out of the sky and landed on your face...You don'y know shyte about me, though I've proven time and time again that you are incorrect.Peel away the layers and we see ideology for what it is eh bear.
Good questions...Really?
How?
Yes... very humourous...Kind of like Suzuki's rants and his silly, child like tantrums. The bastards, they want us to have clean air, water, soil, oceans etc... and more than just a handful of species leftover. Why can't they just be quiet and let us kill ourselves off as effeciently as we've been doing.
Even with what Avro posts below...Gore did very lil in his terms in office...If he were a Conservative...You'ld call it lil more then window dressing...If you were me you'ld call it hypocracy, seeing as the mine on one of his properties is the single largest polluter in the region.Gore has been working in politics for decades to bring Global Warming onto the agenda and Suzuki has been a researcher and educator on the environment for decades also. I'd believe what they had to say over people who are more concerned with proping up an industrial system that is clearly unsustainable.
Oh Ton...you never cease to be a breath of fresh intellectual air...Would you mind telling Avro about his erronious assumptions of me...please.This is particularly upsetting to me. If I am to treat Skeptics with a skeptical eye myself, being critical of any mistake, how then can I turn around and not do the same for Gore, or Suzuki, who have taken liberties? Doesn't matter that they're on "my" side, this issue is too important to treat without an even hand. It's political enough without giving loud mouthed media darling fools the microphone. This is as true for the greens as it is for the skeptics.
Truly and indeed.I must admit that I am most and very surprised too, to hear that.
Wherever did he find the time while inventing the net and being a particularly useless VP, a Slick Willie supporter, and a failure with his vision to take the red tape out of Washington, to set up a company where he can purchase credits from himself all the while jet setting and H2ing all over the place.
What an amazing chap he is!
Oh man you truly bought the snake oil...didn't you???Since being a Congressman in the seventies he's been trying to bring this issue to the forefront, long before almost anyone knew it was even important. Probably why right-wingnuts like you and so many others feel threatened by him. Your days of unlimited oil production would be over if he got into power.
Gore rules, Bush sucks diesel exhaust.
Gore has had many epithets directed at him, such as the 'Noah of Modern Times', and 'The Environment Evangelist', for his role in bringing the problem of global warming to the attention of Americans and other citizens. According to a February 27, 2007 article in The Concord Monitor, "Gore was one of the first politicians to grasp the seriousness of climate change and to call for a reduction in emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouses gases. He held the first congressional hearings on the subject in the late 1970s."[57] During his tenure in Congress, Gore co-sponsored hearings on toxic waste in 1978–79, and hearings on global warming in the 1980s.[58]

Since 1979, Suzuki has hosted The Nature of Things, a CBC television series that has aired in nearly fifty countries worldwide.[4] In this program, Suzuki's aim is to stimulate interest in the natural world, to point out threats to human well-being and wildlife habitat, and to present alternatives for achieving a more sustainable society. Suzuki has been a prominent proponent of renewable energy sources and the soft energy path.

We have...you dismissed them as oil company shills...Only your side is allowed to have all the untouchables appearantly.Point out to me one individual who isn't flawed in some way. Gore represents the best hope we have for finding a realistic solution for a problem some still want to deny because it means change.
I can't and won't condemn Harpo on this issue...Though his plans have lacked teeth...His plans are bigger then the ones the Liberals put in place. Are we going to let people like Bush and Harper set the course, when they've clearly demonstrated no willingness to take any action that may affect the oil industy negatively.
