Losing jobs will make Flossy very happy. He likes that sort of thing. As long as it's not his of course.

No, I was calling for Alberta to prepare for this while you chumps were championing their economy.

Everyone saw the bust from a mile away.

The idea of a carbon tax is logically flawed. It won't produce a cleaner more prosperous Canada.

Pollution will export itself elsewhere and continue polluting. But we will have lost the benefits of the revenues from them.

I'm not sure about cap and trade, but BC already made reductions.

It depends on the timeframe you are looking at and what the reductions are.

It's like trying to stop the inevitable. I propose a different rout. Accept our faith and build tecknowlagy to face tomorrow's polluted world.

reductions in bc are likely off set by rises in Mexico by ten folds.

You can't look at pollution from a country, perspective, or a province. It's global. Less pollution here, will only result in way more elsewhere.

Let's not forget the new coal power plan being put online each week in China. I am sure the Chinese CO2 will remain well within China's borders.

You see, MentalFloss's problem is he can't imagine that people in different situations then his own would have very different ideas then his. He can't wrap his mind arround the idea, that if he had millions of dollars, that simple fact would change the way he sees and think of his world.

The same way having to provide for a family would change the way you look at the world

Or being single.

Well that's why so many people think your stupid. And they are right. It's simple logic to the rest of us.

It's simple legislation that any place can endeavour to have.

Like BC

Or Alberta

Or Quebec

Or Ontario

But, yes, this doesn't matter cuz Mexico lol

You guys keep thinking we have to make decisions that are exclusively based on the economy.

Yes , because some of us, our whole lives depend on it. Like in my situation. If the economy drys up, I'll go bankrupt.

Like I've said in my last post, You lack the intellectual prowess, to put yourself in someone else's shoes other then your own.

Some of us need to feed our kids today. To do so, we are very invested, and dependent on the economy running smoothly.

The consequences of a bad economy greatly outweighs the futur pollution that will happen regardless that we have a carbon tax in place or not. In our situation.

What's the point of trying to slow pollution that's going to move away from Canada and happen elsewhere with a carbon tax in place, when you don't even have a job to feed yourself and kids?

See how my situation gives me a different perspective then your situation.

Stop using yourself as an excuse to dictate what people decide.

If we vote in a government that chooses to legislate a price on carbon then that's what you're going to get.

Climate has always been changing and humans have never had any measurable influence on it. Except possibly the amount of hot air produced by the believers.

That's objectively wrong.

In the last century the biggest influence on climate change is humans.

It's actually not.

BC has had economic prosperity while reducing emissions.

BC is doing well in spite of the carbon tax scam only because we have resources to export that other nations want. The carbon tax has cost taxpayers lots of money, especially those living outside the large metropolitian areas.

The fact that it can have carbon reductions without negatively affecting their economy proves my point.

The carbon tax is revenue neutral, so businesses are incentivized to reduce their emissions and they even receive tax credits for it.

Respex for the taxprayers and all that.

Hilarious

Says the guy whos province imports more oil from foreign sources than from their own back yard.

You guys keep thinking we have to make decisions that are exclusively based on the economy.

Ummm, yeah. Like your Messiah Clinton stated some years; it's about the economy stupid

Wow... You really believe that there is such a thing as a revenue neutral carbon.

How cute

Revenue neutral?

Just 'cause Christie says so, doesn't make it the case.

Do yourself a favor and actually go there and see for yourself.

As for the results, BCers are driving just as much, or more than they did prior to the save-the-Earth-tax that the province imposed.... Better yet, travel the 20 minutes to Washington State and enjoy the long line-ups of BC plated vehicles tanking up at those gas stations.

Kinda takes the wind out of your argument
