Canadians have closed schools and shut down large parts of the economy to deal with the threat of the novel coronavirus.

Encouragingly, public health experts say that a graph of positive tests shows that the sacrifice is working.

“This is a good-news graph,” says Steven Hoffman of York University.

“Overall, it’s a positive graph,” she says. “All the provinces are bending — you want them to be as flat as possible. They are all headed in the right direction, which is a positive sign.”

Probably , the computer models have been off in every country . Most of the deaths and serious cases have been in tightly controlled places like long term care facilities , cruise ships and prisons . We are not seeing huge amounts of debilitating sickness among the general population , there has not been the exponential growth as predicted . . According to the stats Twin Moose posts daily there are few active cases in the North and Maritimes and the curve seems to be flattening in the rest of the country . Quebec has been hit hard , but again most of their deaths are in long term care.

Given the 'out-break' is taking place this time of year, it would appear that the flattening the curve measures are working. My concern is for the NEXT flu season, as covid-19 is expected to be endemic by that point. which is scary.

If the answer comes from one as equally uninformed as I , what good is it ? I have been doing my part maintaining social distancing , not spending time with friends and family , avoiding as much physical contact as possible . The first world is doing the dying this time because the epidemic is linked to travel and people living in third world countries don't do a lot of travelling.

All those airplanes and cruise ships were nice little covid19 delivery systems.

In the beginning of this so called pandemic there were predictions of 40 million people world wide from this virus. Now they have revised that number down to 60,000 and maybe next week it will be down to 20,000. What a joke this all has become. I want my freedoms back and I demand that our dear comrade leaders give it back to me now. Works for me!!

Of course the seasonal flu will once again return and no doubt the politicians and the media will try to make a big headline deal out of nothing but to create panic and fear once again in the morons who will believe their lies once again.

If I have to go all thru this again I would prefer to take my chances with the virus and continue to do what I have always been able to do and that is do what the hell I please. I do not wnat to be told once again that I must practice social engineering or not be able to get together with friends or go to a casino or concert.

Our dear comrade minister of health in Victoria has now said that the PNE fair and the yearly fireworks show are now cancelled. Why? is that. Does not a virus die when it starts to get warm outside and where the sun apparently is supposed to kill the virus? I can only hope that the morons who still believe in this made up hoax will not fall for another made up hoax next year. If people do then they are f'n crazy in the head and do need mental health treatments.
