Our present federal government squandered fifty billion dollars and no tropical island to show for it.

Which is relevant to what? I personally don't have any green shoes, nor do I own a Volkswagen!

You say Trudeau is your hero.
Trudeau was philosophically against bringing a Caribbean island into Canada.
You blame Mulroney (and now Harper) for not bringing a Caribbean island into Canada.

Does your head ever explode when you try to reconcile your rabid homophobia and need for colonial conquest, with the completely opposite opinions of your hero?

I've seen this proposal before based on somewhat mundane but practical suggestions. The idea involves Canada having a winter vacationland that would be warm and sunny, thus directing to Canada the money Canadians normally spend in foreign winter vacation destinations. It would be a win-win situation for Canada and the Caribbean nation lucky enough to be selected. Canadians would no longer spend quite as much money in foreign vacation spots and the Caribbean nation would get much needed economic and social development. It would be very similar to the situation that now exists between the US and Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Also if the nation in question was Jamaica Canada would have the best track and field team in the world.

Do not forget the potential for another Bobsled tearm. :) One problem Jamaica is for Jamaica. Without invading someone, all the countries are taken and doing pretty well with the tourists. You might be welcome to take over Haiti though.
