Can human beings change? Can you and I change? Can you and I bring about in ourselves a mutation so profound that, as human beings, our relationship is not based on temporary, convenient, self-centred activity? Because what is most important is relationship. Unless there is a radical revolution in that relationship between two human beings, talking about God or about the scriptures, or going back to the Bible, and the rest of it, is sheer nonsense. It has no meaning whatsoever unless we establish right relationship between human beings.

Dear Dear Friend China

If am Fej Chang Bang you are back here.... as I am probably on my way to a hasty exit.....I get to say bye just in case.

I hope you are all right and that your world is settling back on its regular axis with things working out for you now....

Missed you and have no heart right now to address your important question.

I have some negative feelings towards humans right now....not worth taking up your time.

Thank you for all the pleasurable mornings you have given me- China is a great way to start my day!!! Curio

good stuff. but lots of people change after going back to church. i wish i knew their secret. like my dad changed when he got born-again. mind you he turned into a bible thumping jerk and than left us, but he did change. we can change from good to bad too.

Certainly people can change. I'm a much different person now than I was as a teenager. I don't use illicit drugs or alcohol ad nauseum, I have more respect for people than I used to and I'm a little better at looking after my finances. All part of growing up really, though many of my friends from those days haven't changed and it's a sad sight to see former friends and aquaintances in that state.

isnt that the whole gig of life anyway? we gotta change and grow. but can you be one totally different way and then ---bang---be another? i think that was the question.

It was and I definitely am. It's not a bang* instantaneous thing in most cases, opinions can change in an instant, but to change your character takes a longer time than an instant, I had to search within myself and decide which path I was going to walk. It's a hard choice to leave behind friends, not so hard to choose to live healthier.

Yes, I know we can change. But even before involving other people, we have to change within.Change is always internal. If we just change on the surface, that is our cover, and is usually false.
Ever notice how totally different you are all alone at home from other times?

It's a good starting point for social interaction. I'm not suggesting you convert or jump into one of those silly pentecostal groups of course. Judging from your experiences, I'd say you were Church of England. Oh, my goodness, hang on a second here! I might be able to help you find a lovely traditional Anglican parish in Edmonton if you'd like. I totally forgot until now that I have some contacts in that city. I am on quite good terms with one of the traditional Anglican denominations and they operate what seems to be a very supportive and loving community in Edmonton. If you'd like, I can either post or PM you their contact information, and even email a letter of introduction if you'd like? Let me know, no pressure and no insult taken if you're not interested.
