Budget 2010
Harper has already stated - No tax increase - No cuts to entitlement programs - These make up a substantial portion of expenditures for the Govt. -

Tying his hands - He should have taken a page out of Chretien/Martin book -

What do you see coming as cuts - We know cuts will be made after the massive buildup in debt - but the debt is still low compared to the GDP -

Ontario will become a have not province for a number of years - The West will carry the revenue stream from commodities -

What programs should be cut - what programs should be added to -

GST - I am in favor or raising it to 7 % as it is a consumption tax - with increased rebates for the lower income Canadians -
What do think is coming

One report I read from The Globe and Mail, Norman Spector - He believes that Harper will call an election - and your opinion is?

Personally I like the lap dogs on a leash - I have no trust in Harper and none whatsoever in Iggy - Jack the Mustache - well enough said - Both he and his wife as City Councilors in Toronto lived in subsidized housing - Not singling out Jack as they all love their entitlements -

We should get accustomed to minority Govts - They work in other countries - But in Canada we have the most expensive day care (MP Back Bencher's) in the world -

As once was stated about the VP Slot in the US - Not worth a bucket of warm spit -

Any of the Party leaders stop suddenly they are sure to have a large number of noses up their respective asses -

Myself I prefer the British System - You will and do see open revolt by Back Bencher's - Something like that is needed in Canada - If I want sheep I will go to the farm.

Well Goober here is my opinion.

Budget 2010
Harper has already stated - No tax increase - No cuts to entitlement programs - These make up a substantial portion of expenditures for the Govt. -

Good question.. What if anything will give and do they have to give anything if they plan that election I talked about in the other thread ?

Tying his hands - He should have taken a page out of Chretien/Martin book -

Your correct here, he should have..

What do you see coming as cuts - We know cuts will be made after the massive buildup in debt - but the debt is still low compared to the GDP -

If any probably arts, women and child care programs again but as minimal as they can do..

Ontario will become a have not province for a number of years - The West will carry the revenue stream from commodities -

Trust me, if they have plans for an election and majority, Ontario and Quebec will be spared in this budget..

What programs should be cut - what programs should be added to -

Simple enough.. Programs will be frozen, not cut back.. It is just as bad.. I don't foresee any added but with Conservatives you could see military get minimal adjustment..

GST - I am in favor or raising it to 7 % as it is a consumption tax - with increased rebates for the lower income Canadians -
What do think is coming

Of course it would be, but this would be a tax increase and be the last sacrificial cow the Liberals could pounce on and gain tractions on for an elections.. I doubt this will get touched but if it does, watch the opposition jump on it..

One report I read from The Globe and Mail, Norman Spector - He believes that Harper will call an election - and your opinion is?

I said this way before he did. LOL

Personally I like the lap dogs on a leash - I have no trust in Harper and none whatsoever in Iggy - Jack the Mustache - well enough said - Both he and his wife as City Councilors in Toronto lived in subsidized housing - Not singling out Jack as they all love their entitlements -

Surprisingly Harper is not my biggest fear in the Conservative Party.. I have more fear of Baird, Flaherty and the rest of the bozo's in the back benches. I do however trust Ignatieff more then Harper at this point. Of course if I had my choice it would be a totally different person.. Jack and Elizabeth are not a concern for me right now..

We should get accustomed to minority Govts - They work in other countries - But in Canada we have the most expensive day care (MP Back Bencher's) in the world -

I agree that minority works great and hope that whomever gets elected again is in the same boat. But in the same breath I think we will see a Majority the next election as people are tired of going to the polls and the Liberals are weak at this time.

As once was stated about the VP Slot in the US - Not worth a bucket of warm spit -

No comments.. :)

Any of the Party leaders stop suddenly they are sure to have a large number of noses up their respective asses -

Some may like that :)

Myself I prefer the British System - You will and do see open revolt by Back Bencher's - Something like that is needed in Canada - If I want sheep I will go to the farm.

So do I.. But it must have a second house to verify laws such, as a Senate, albeit reformed properly and not half baked..

Well, if you read any of his past musings - he has accomplished what he wanted - which is to drain the cupboard bare. I foresee this year:

1) an election - I agree with Spector on that.
2) No budget cuts - but "cost saving measures" like introducing 2 tier health care
3) Cuts to R & D - especially at the university level.

An increase to the GST back to 7 % - it won't happen - although I still think it was the dumbest tax cut ever.

Oh - and don't forget there will be fire-sale of capital assets a-la Harris.
