Brutal New Jersey home invasion caught on video baby monitor

Home Invasion in Millburn NJ caught on nanny cam - brutal beating in front of daughter June, 2013 - YouTube

A New Jersey woman was viciously attacked by a man while her 3-year-old daughter watched — and the girl’s baby monitor captured the brutal assault.

MyFoxNY.com reports that the unidentified woman was attacked early Friday in her home in Millburn. Police said the suspect broke down a door to get into the house and repeatedly punched and kicked the woman before throwing her down a flight of stairs.

"I knew that if I started to scream my daughter would too and I was afraid he would shoot at her. I took it and I didn't cry the entire time," the unnamed victim told News 12. "They need to help us get him off the street. He's not just a burglar, he's violent."

The woman suffered a concussion and was briefly hospitalized, News 12 reports.

The suspect, who stole jewelry from the home, was described by authorities as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds with a salt-and-pepper beard.

Anyone with information on the incident should contact the Millburn Police Department at (973) 564-7001.

That was absolutely brutal. Hard to believe. The woman was no threat to this a$$hole but he kept swinging. Hope they catch the SOB.
Btw, a gun wouldn't neccessarily have saved her.......would more likey have provoked him into shooting her but who knows?

Do you keep a gun on yourself 24/7?

Even the people I know who own guns, do not carry it on them at home when relaxing. They wouldn't have had anymore time to get to a gun than this woman would have had.

Throwing every case of crime out as a reason to own a gun is ridiculous when you consider the statistics on who a gun in a home is most likely to kill.

This woman took a vicious beating in the interest of protecting her daughter. She is a hero, and should be treated as such, not criticized for not having 'done more'.

you must live in one very interesting area to need that type of protection...hopefully you don't end up incarcerated due to murdering the wrong person, and hopefully you don't have kids who can get their hands on them

I think your house would be a shooting death waiting to happen for her daughter.

actually that guy was crazy, he would have used the gun on her by the time she got to it, he would have been on top of her and even angrier...I think she would be dead if there had been a gun handy

Arlington TX is where I lived, close to the city of Ft. Worth border..

No kids, and as far as shooting the wrong person... humm 6 black guys in Chicago jump my truck to rob the load and possibly do harm to me.. my gun is a final solution, didn't show it or fire a shot.. none of the guys had a weapon..

Now, if any had a gun or knife, I would have shot that person. I would try for a non leathal area of the body...

It's common sense and used for protection.. someone breaks into your home, shoot to kill.

I know a guy 86 y.o. And has his gun in the seat cousin of his recliner, and also carries one in his pocket at all times..

That's Texas and that's the way folks think.. fukk with my property and I'll will shot you.. same goes on the freeway.. I honestly see the most polite drivers in Texas..

Shoot for the center body mass, Boomer. Don't set your phaser to "miss."

Yeah, I know that's what they teach you to do... but if all possible, I'd rather hit a leg or shoulder ...

That said, if he's in my home, or has a gun you pretty much have no choice to shoot to kill..

Shooting a person is not like the movies where the guy flys backward and the death scene.. nope fatal shot and the guy drops straight down.. not a fun thing to have to watch and gives you nightmares for life..

What lives in my head the most is the police placing a white sheet over the body and the blood spot starting to show up...

Unfortunately, cab drivers in Los Angeles pretty much get to see it all.. a lifetime of experiences wrapped up into 2 years..

Someone got into our house here one time. He/she took a half full box of Marsbars. Left $20 in change on the table. "Shoot to kill" my backside. Damn lucky I didn't catch the kid, he'd be strung upside down over a slow fire. Yep, half a box of Marsbars is worth death.
