I've noticed that Canada isn't actually intending on JOINING the EU. Merely trading with the EU - which Britain does - and being in it are two completely different things. Why doesn't Canada actually JOIN the EU if you all thing it's so good?

Joining is not really a viable alternative. Canada has multiple free trade agreements with various nations. Joining the EU would jeopardize already existing agreements, which you should have figured out if you bothered to think about it.

No. The rich pay more in taxes.

Someone on £11,001 to £43,000 per year hands over 20% of it to the state in income tax.

Someone on over £150,000 per year hands over a whopping 45% of it to the state in income tax.

Income tax is scandalous.

The Royal Navy has a 251 year old mainly wooden warship - HMS Victory - still in commission that can still be sent into battle whenever necessary.

I think running a ship that was launched only in 1953 would be a doddle.

I think that you are a doddle, sometimes. You have been given very sound reasons why Brittania will likely never sail again without spending a good part of what it would cost to build a new ship. If only she was as simple as Victory.

no need for the eu
we can fleece ourselves
thank you very much

While the QV is a nice tourist attraction I think a modern royal would like a modern ship,
modern conveniences and modern defences too likely

Best bet:
Resale value on things nautical, drop quite quickly as soon as one drives off the lot, and with all the corporate and national bankruptcies these days, there are probably some very nice deals going down out there.
