Braid: Against all odds, the UCP is now in position to win the May election

As you might guess, the herald is a litttttle bit on the left. But not scorchingly so,

In all honesty, it's really no surprise at all. People talk tough in between elections but the UPC has some serious advantages and it always pretty much comes down to Calgary.

Surprisingly, Notley really didn't maximize on the problems the UPC was having. She was somewhat visible but she didn't really sell the ndp as an alternative. This is a common mistake in politics, so common I often wonder why it happens so much considering everyone should know it by now.

So now that things are getting serious the voters are beginning to turn back to the UPC. It will be interesting to see what she puts forward and how effective her campaign is. The NDP absolutely could win this with the right campaign. But I don't think not Lee is going to deliver and I think the UPC will probably win. Still, you never know. 24 hours is a long time in politics.
